“Gun Death” Horrible Driver

We can’t compare vehicle deaths with “Gun Deaths”…why? Just because.

Authorities say Jonas popped a wheelie on a blue “crotch rocket” sports cycle before he hit Tyrell Baymon on Saturday afternoon — fracturing the child’s skull on his fourth birthday — and then continued down a Frogtown street.

Jonas, 25, looked back but refused to stop because he feared a group of men who ran at him, yelling, he later told police.

When I first saw the headline and the photos of the victim I was wondering if this was a case of a young boy darting out into traffic. That’s one of the earliest road hazards they tell drivers to look out for because even a low-speed collision with a small child can be fatal. You try to watch out for such things but it can happen to anybody. Still when the driver sped off, all bets were off!

Now let’s look at the monster who did this.

According to court records, Jonas was cited on six occasions between March and December 2011 for driving-related offenses that included speeding, failing to drive with due care and driving with a revoked or invalid license.

Earlier this month, he was sentenced in Hennepin County District Court to one year of probation for a December violation — the third time he had been cited for driving without a valid license. He also was cited in May 2011 for driving a motorcycle without being properly licensed or insured….Witnesses reported seeing Jonas driving recklessly earlier. He popped multiple wheelies while driving very fast on Lafond Avenue, the complaint states.

Jonas told police the crash occurred following a single wheelie that came about when he hit the gas at a stop sign — prompting the front end to pop up. When the bike came back down, he said, he saw a woman standing at the back of a vehicle. He said he didn’t see Tyrell until it was too late.

So we have the PRIVILEGE of driving that requires a license, insurance, and registration. This creep did NONE of that, and ignored all laws and warnings from police. Is this any different than the criminal element carrying and using guns illegally? According to Antis it is, and by adding similar laws we’d stop similar crimes. But wait there’s more!

Charges filed in Ramsey County District Court allege that Jonas, whose family lives on the East Side, ditched the motorcycle in a friend’s garage about 1 1/2 miles from the scene. Police learned he had a female friend in the area and later contacted Jonas by phone. He was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday at a motel in Shakopee.

St. Paul Police Chief Thomas Smith credited community members for calling in tips.

Not only did he severely injure (and there’s still a possibility that the poor boy may die from his injuries) a young boy, and speed off, but he had a friend who was willing to cover for the crime. The cynic wonders if it hadn’t been a young boy if these tips would have been given to police.

Again wanton criminal behavior, with no regard for the laws of the land or of civil society. What do the antis have for them?

They could care less. This death isn’t useful for them, so they ignore it. How horrible is that?

As a motorcyclist and a father, I hope he meets a soccer mom who makes a left turn directly in front of him, causing him to crash. I then hope that the soccer mom drives off, ideally with his broken and dying body trapped under her car.

    Die in a fire, @@$hole.
