I’m not only drinking domestic beer, I’m drinking domestic beer named after that great patriot Sam Adams.

Here’s to a great 4th of July for everyone.

I do have to wonder why a FN P90 of any kind is classified as a rifle. It’s basically a handgun with lots of doodads. But having recently gone through two “Stargate” series on Netflix, T.V. shows that star this particular gun, I wouldn’t say no to owning one.

What gun would I say no to owning? Um, I, uh, you got me there. . .

    • Weerd Beard says:

Any gun with rifling and a shoulder stock are considered “Rifles” and must abide by all the rules and restrictions there-of. This includes Mauser Broomhandles with the Cavalry stock as well has the Browning Hi-Powers that were made the same way. Same also with any cartridge revolvers that had shoulder stocks (Tho you can put a stock on a cap-and-ball revolver without penalty because it technically isn’t a firearm)

Meanwhile the Ruger Charger, or the Rossi Ranch Hand, or the various AR and AK “Pistols” are considered “Pistols” simply because there is no location for you to mount your shoulder, and therefore they are “Hand Guns”.

The laws are stupid, and I don’t agree with them….but there they are.

      • Linoge says:

Not to be contrarian, but Broomhandle Mausers (along with certain other older guns that were specifically fabricated for similar stock installation) actually have an exception from the BATFE, and are exempt from the NFA requirements of SBRs if they are bundled with their original stocks. If you have an aftermarket stock for them, there is literally one ruling from the BATFE saying that is ok, and one saying it is not.

I only know this because I have a standing offer to snag a Broomhandle whenever I have the spare scratch handy, and wanted to make sure…

Little bastard kicks like a mule anywise – the stock is strongly recommended.

        • Weerd Beard says:

Yeah, but if you put an M4 stock on a Broomie or a HP….or mod a modern-day Hi-power to accept a vintage stock you’ll need to pay your NFA tax, or expect your dog to be shot.
