This being Independence Day, I am pleased to say that I, and a large number of lawful Americans are as willing to compromise as you are, Joan. The best part of this fact is that one of our sides is growing and making massive political inroads towards our goal of undoing all that the other side has done….and one side is dying a rather rapid death.

Does she not even know what NICS is? It sounds like she thought NICS was a bill (“They can get guns anyway from unlicensed dealers as part of the NICS.”). Wild.

She’s billed as the “Author” of HR 1022 and she didn’t even bother to read or understand it.
Why would a lowly Joyce shill and Brady Board member bother to understand ANYTHING?
Right. And similarly, I am pretty sure Joan’s comment wasn’t a “lie” so much as a “spout without caring what any of it means” because she has an agenda, ignorance, and a lack of actual intellectual curiosity.
Did she actually use the ‘modern guns weren’t around then so the 2A doesn’t apply’ argument?

There is so much gibberish in that quote as to make it incomprehensible save for it reflects it irrational origin and hyperemotional owners thinking processes.

Crazy Joan is always good for a laugh.
So basically, it is not compromise if it was necessary and “common sense”. The day the NRA compromises is the day they start asking for gun control that she hasn’t even thought of.
She talks as though a criminal would, by necessity, buy only legal guns.
She knows that criminals have guns today, in spite of NICS. Where does she think they get them?
