Agree. Looks stupid. Like most re-makes.
Oh, I don’t know. It kinda looks like weird, over-the-top fun. Hell, Depp’s pirate movies were based on a Disney ride of all things. They were fun to watch and he was great.
Just please no more Willie Wonka. Depp as Michael Jackson does not work. I do kinda wish he’d take an occasional role as a normal person, just to show he can.
Loved the first Pirates movie, but couldn’t get into the 2nd one, and never bothered with however many others there were.
I kinda like the Willie Wonka one, its just strange enough to make me smile!
I used to read the book to my daughter, so it’s got a special place in my memory and I’m picky. I didn’t like the Gene Wilder version, either.

Well given the Disney deal with Netflix I’ll watch it then, just because.
Yeah, I’m leaning towards Netflix. It looks to me like it might be interesting, but not enough to justify theater prices.
Not like, say, The Hobbitt. Which I’ll probably go see tonight (I know, opening night? But the students are in finals right now, so it may be okay).
Don’t tell me — it’s an “edgy” comedic take on a law-and-order, bring-the-villains-to-justice cultural figure. At some point in the movie, he’ll down some drugs and turn out better for it, right?
I saw the “Dragnet” movie. Don’t see a need to see this.
Looks like fun, but I will wait until it comes out on Amazon Prime, that is, for free.
