George Zimmerman’s charges to be announced in a few hours in Jacksonville Florida

The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case will announce criminal charges against George Zimmerman on Wednesday, a law enforcement official told NBC News….previously announced that she wouldn’t take the case to a grand jury, first-degree murder is not an option.

Corey’s office confirmed that a news conference would be at 6 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla.

Who knows what the charges will be, jst that Murder 1 is not on the table.

I don’t think the ball is going to drop tonight, but there is a slight chance that the charges will be minor chicken-shit charges just to bring Zimmerman to trial, in which case the racists might see this as a guilty man going free, and decide that molotov cocktails and ballistic rocks are the solution.

Keep your ear to the ground, your eyes peeled, and if you can avoid areas where these hoodie protests have been going down, that would be a VERY wise decision tonight. More on this when I hear the news.

The sad part to me is that at this point there is no way in hell he will ever get a fair trial. The DA is charging so she can’t be blamed for the riots, the jury will convict for the same reason. Zimmerman may as well be sent right to jail. . . and how do you keep him safe in there?

    what a mess

How do you keep him safe anywhere. Sadly with the fiasco being stirred up, and the irrationally violent nature of the racists who have already declared him guilty of Murder One (that we know he won’t be charged with), I would say that poor George has a very low chance of getting a natural death now.

Where’s Presidential leadership when you actually need it?

This would be the perfect time for President Obama to actually be presidential (hah!) and make a speech, demanding that people abstain from vigilante “justice”, making it clear that individual opinions on this case aren’t important; the police and the courts will decide, and we, as law-abiding Americans, must abide by those decisions. He could further sternly announce that any vigilantism, or any prejudicial conduct towards Mr. Zimmerman, will be punished to the full extent of the law.

Okay, fantasy over. That was fun.

Alternatively, he could protect Mr. Zimmerman by appointing him to a Cabinet post. Mr. Z is arguably less of a criminal than half the Cabinet now, so why not? He’s even a Democrat!

Yeah, Barack “Trinity United” Obama is going to come to the aid of a White Devil!

His idea of diplomacy is not to cheer on live TV when Zimmerman is lynched by a black panther posse!

      • Rob Crawford says:

        ITYM “white Hispanic devil”.

Spotted that again at ABC, just a few minutes ago.

      • Jack says:

Yeah… given who Obama invited over for the official Easter White House events and who Eric Holder gave gushing praise for…

The best we can hope for is for Obama to not cheer too loudly on live TV at the lynchin’.

But Obama will still give a preening speech lecturing us about how this was the right thing.

    The charge is Manslaughter.

The good news in all this is that it gives me time to build up my stores of food and ammunition, and I’ll have my CWP by the time it goes to trial.

The bad news is that, barring some surprise eyewitness, there’s enough reasonable doubt that there’s no way he’s going to be convicted for Murder Two, and after emotions have been inflamed by a media circus trial, the riots and assaults will be even worse.

But hey, it’ll be after the election, so what the fuck does Obama care?

  5. Bob S. says:

She said that he will be in court within 24 hours.

Be interesting to see what happens at the hearing. According to my understanding, the hearing will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed or not. Don’t think this is several weeks or months off — things could get interesting tomorrow.
