Morning Read

Go have a look at the PJ Media article. The Title says it all: “Why I Called George Zimmerman a Murderer, and Why I Was Wrong”.

I did about the same thing, for about the same reasons. I think he was lawfully defending himself that night, and I think Trayvon Martin was NOT out to get candy and a drink that night.

Also Sebastian Points out there may be some oddness going on on Zimmerman’s legal side.

No idea what it means. I do know that if I were Zimmerman, I would be hiding out someplace, on leave from the college he’s taking classes from, and his job, and not making contact with his family who are being watched by the black racists looking for reward money and vigilante justice.

Even if the case goes 100% his way he’ll be in deep debt from lawyer fees, loss of work, and possibly paying rent for his “Safehouse” as well as the mortgage for his home he can’t return to. Also if he ever gets identified as THE George Zimmerman again, it’ll be up on the web in hours, and there’s a good chance somebody will come to that location with intent to murder him for reward money or vigilante justice.

Think about that. His life is ruined, and not because he was forced to kill in self-defense, but because people wanted a monster, and picked him to be it.

This incident will be a teaching point in countless CHL classes now and in the future. I suspect Zimmerman was over-zealous in his tracking of Martin. I also suspect that Martin went into thug mode when/if Zimmerman didn’t render proper respect to his awesomeness.

The proponents of the current rap/thug culture don’t rxpect an armed response to their attempts to beat respect into others. No matter what two lives are ruined.

  2. SGB says:

He needs new lawyers, of that I’m sure.

  3. Erin Palette says:

From what I hear, his ex-lawyers let it slip that Zimmerman isn’t even in Florida at the moment.

If I were him, I wouldn’t be, either.

  4. Bubblehead Les says:

You know, this is turning into another OJ Simpson event. I know that Zimmerman feels he was justified, but calling “Hannity?” Putting up a Website? Not listening to his Lawyers? Whoever is giving him advice to take on a MSM that is DROOLING to have him Crucified on Live TV is an idiot. He needs to look up the Definition of “Low Profile,” or he’ll end up digging his own Grave.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Sadly like Kacy Anthony, he’s a dead man walking anyway. The mob has not only declared him guilty of murder, but that his motivations were because he hates black people.

Kacy is guilty in the mind of the mob for killing a child. There are all to many low-born igorant people who would be willing to kill in the name of vigilante justice. And for each of those monsters there are LITERALLY hundreds of people who have enugh malice in their hearts that while they wouldn’t kill in the name of “Juitice” they will broadcast the vital information they have far-and-wide so the others more willing might take action.

Can you think of any other reason why CSGV published George Zimmerman’s now vacant home address, and Spike Lee published what he thought was the house he was hiding at?

They won’t kill them, but they want the killers to know where they are!

      • Jack says:

And no wonder they want you disarmed. Not only do they see what their black hearts are capable of, but they want to deny said tools to anyone they disaprove of.

        • kfg says:

Because they are bullies. They intend to take your lunch money, not fight for it while risking their own.

          • Jack says:

And because they are bullies they see nothing wrong with them being able to fight you, while denying you the same.

In fact they’d prefer it. Makes things so much easier when only “the right” people are armed.

Hell, the CSGV has come out openly endorsing the idea of our “new nobility” being able to carry “swords” while the peasants are disarmed.

  5. No one forced him to get out of his car.

    • Weerd Beard says:

I got out of my car this morning. Nobody forced me either. Should I be expecting an indictment?

Getting out of his car is totally irrelevant. In 20/20 hindsight staying in his truck would have made this a non-issue story. Of course being a bit more speculative if Martin was as violent and irrational as is being presented by Zimmerman and eyewitnesses to the event, if Zimmerman lost sight of him and then waited for cops, or never called 911 at all and continued to the store on the errands he was allegedly running, and Martin had raped or killed somebody this wouldn’t make the news, but might have quite the impact on Zimmerman’s life.

I think its foolish to put too much speculation in that one action, especially when its most likely that Martin took off running, and Zimmerman got out at a slow walk.

      • Like I’ve said numerous times before, shit wouldn’t have started if he didn’t start shit.

Carrying a gun on you needs to affect your decision making process, because now every encounter you have has the potential for you to take someone’s life. Every decision you make needs to reflect that responsibility you hold. If Zimmerman really thought that Martin was up to no good, he should have made the connection that approaching him in any way could very easily escalate to violence and force him to retaliate with deadly force.

It’s the same idea as carrying in a bar. Should you have the right? Yes. Is it a good idea to go armed into an environment that is rich with the potential for violence? No.

    • Bob S. says:

      El Bombardero,

What ever happened to civic responsibility? Looking out for your neighbors?

Zimmerman was doing what should have been routine to everyone ! Finding out if a person in a gated community belonged there or not, trying to reduce crime.

Why is Zimmerman being vilified for being a responsible citizen?

      • A responsible citizen would have had better judgement than to get out of his car to go looking for someone who he suspected of being a criminal.

Whatever happened to standing up for yourself? Martin wasn’t doing anything wrong and was being followed by a strange man at night. I would hope my 17 year old son would be prepared to stand his ground against a suspected attacker.

Not to mention that people are constantly pitting the decision making maturity of a 17 year old kid against a grown ass man. We don’t trust 17 year olds with carrying concealed because we correctly assume that many 17 year olds lack the judgement to use one correctly. Yet with Martin, it seems like there is this expectation that when he was being challenged that he shouldn’t respond like a 17 year old male is going to respond, with aggression. And Zimmerman gets a free pass on his lack of judgement.

        • Bob S. says:

          El Bombardero,

Please let me know by which powers you’ve determined Travyon wasn’t doing anything wrong?

Mental telepathy with dead people, astral projection to the past, omniscience ?

Please also let me know how you’ve determined that Zimmerman was going after Trayvon?

All we have is supposition and you’ve darn near convicted Zimmerman.

At 17 years old, people should have the maturity and intelligence not to attack other people or lacking options to continue another 210 feet to SAFETY.

Not all 17 year old male respond with aggression — to state otherwise is a crock and not supported by any version of reality or fact.

Zimmerman isn’t getting a free pass for ANYTHING. He apparently was physically assaulted, taken in for questioning, released, been hounded by media, ill informed citizens and still possibly faces criminal charges.

How in the name of God’s Green Earth is that getting a free pass?

  6. Rob Crawford says:

No one forced Trayvon to attack him, either.

Which had more to do with the gun going off?

  7. Daniel in Brookline says:

Thanks, Rob. You’ve put your finger on an important point here, that not enough people are talking about.

If we accept the emerging narrative — that Zimmerman was ambushed, that he was sucker-punched and narrowly avoided a concussion (or worse), that he drew his gun when he had reason to believe it was about to be taken away from him…

…then George Zimmerman did the right thing by following Trayvon Martin, didn’t he? If that’s what the kid was capable of, just because he didn’t like to be followed, then is this really someone you want peeking in your living-room window at night?

Follow-up question. Is there any kind of self-defense fund for Mr. Zimmerman? I suspect a lot of gunnies would be happy to contribute. (One problem, of course, is making sure money actually goes to him. Well, his lawyer should serve as a public address.)
