.300 AAC Blackout is a really cool gun, and I like how damned tiny this little rifle is!
Also love his statement about “how much recoil it don’t have”. The only time I’ve shot .300 AAC was in Wally’s full-auto carbine, and even in a crazy small and light rifle it was just as controllable in full-auto as any .223 gun. Compare that with my experience with shooting a full-auto AK-47, its impressively easy to handle!
Love that its an ideal gun for quiet hunting with subsonics. No action to cycle means its REALLY quiet!

I like .300 BLK. It’s very similar to the SKS/AK round which explains its gentle recoil. Since I think that SKS/AK was a better round than the poodle shooter, it’s not surprising I like a good ol’ ‘murican version.
Ya know, that whole just like a .223 for recoil is a clue about the total energy it’s putting downrange.
You know, like the same?

Technically less as Energy squares the velocity, hence why you have all all those crazy Cor-Bon loads with super-light bullets going crazy fast, or why anybody thought the 5.7x28mm was a great idea.
Still I’m a caliber and sectional density whore, so those big fat bullets crimped into that practically vestigial case neck make me smile.
300 blk subsonic is significantly lower energy than 223, around 500 ft lb. Supersonic loads are about 20% more energy than 223, near 1300 ft lb.
It isn’t a lot of recoil in any case.
And my newest comes in at a hair over 5lbs, in am AR.
The 300 is neat because it has such a split personality. Subsonics are nice and quiet and surprisingly hey penetrate tremendously Against’s of targets since they’re simply is no expansion but they do tumble as they upset. Supersonic rounds are pretty fast and have comparable energy 762 by 39 and with the right and loads can be equivalent with 3030.
my house gun is 300, loaded with supersonic and wearing a can.
Sound suppressors also serve as muzzle brakes.
