Reloading Your Pocket Pistol

With more people carrying smaller guns for concealed carry and convenience, one must take into account the trade-offs of the smaller guns:

The smaller grip means you need to be careful of getting your hand clear of the well before you slam your reload home.

I must say here’s another instance where I am madly in love with my PM45:

Because the Kahr has such a low bore axis I can get all 3 of my fingers around the grip frame, despite it being the same size as the LC9 in the video.

Also one reason why I switched from a S&W642 to the PM45 was not only that the gun offered more power and capacity than the 5-shot .38, but also you aren’t constrained by the gun’s base capacity:

Here’s my Kahr after a theoretical reload with a 7-round magazine designed for the TP45 Kahr does make a 7-round .45 magazine with a grip extension, but I have no idea how well it mates up with the short PM45 grip. I also don’t care, as grip extensions just give more surface area to pinch the meat of your palm. I’ve run a few hundred rounds through these magazines, and the grip size of the gun generally keeps my pinkie from pressing the mag, even if it did start to rub that doesn’t effect feeding, and on reload I have 7 or 7+1 rounds of .45 ACP +P on tap in a gun that rides in a pocket holster! That’s pretty impressive!

Great little gun!

Carry your damn guns people, and be safe out there!

Weer’d, the only argument I’ve read for a grip extensions that made any sense to me was with extended capacity magazines so they weren’t over inserted and break something or tie up the gun.

Also with Kahr magazines you can only go up one frame size and have the extensions work as designed (ie. from, MK to K, or K to T) .
