Trust the “Experts”

To quote Tam:

Listening to media personalities and politicians pontificating on firearms and firearms laws is like listening to eighth graders pontificate on sex.

They sure don’t let lack of any first hand knowledge dampen their enthusiastically-held opinions.

Example:

These weapons are meant for war. Trench warfare in World War I led to the development of a compact firearm that could fire many bullets quickly at short range. Subcompact machine guns, like the “Tommy Gun,” were quickly adopted by U.S. criminals and outlawed in 1934.

The Nazis perfected assault weapons with the “father of all assault rifles,” the STG 44, which gave rise to machine guns like the M-16 or AK-47. Forty years later, the semi-automatic descendants of these weapons, such as the AR-15 assault rifle and UZI assault pistol, were being used by criminals to terrorize American streets.

Just count the misinformation! And the kicker:

The NRA and its supporters don’t like the term “assault rifle.” Instead, they dub them “sport rifles” and suggest they are important for self-defense or hunting. But neither self-defense nor deer hunting requires a 30-round magazine.

They know NOTHING about guns, history, war, or how they work…but they know what YOU need to defend your life, hunt, or enjoy a day at the range.

BTW Jason Kilgore jumps in to help his boss out by linking this! A long, fact-free VPC “Report” that shows pictures of bolt-action military rifles and full-auto sub-machine guns.

See? That’s why we need to ban AR-15s and magazines that hold more than ten….or something.

BTW I also like the junk-on-the-bunk picture of all the old top-break revolvers, one old pocket pistol, and a bolt-action .22 in an article about all the “Assault Weapons” on our streets!

They’re total idiots…but man we should trust them!

And he’s the only anti commenting.

And he gets the terminology wrong. I mean geeze. It’s not hard. Just say Magazine you doofus!

As for assault rifle versus assault weapon, don’t get all weepy when we mock you for using the wrong term, you goobers invented it.

  2. Dan says:

I am pretty sure that there were a few people at Waco and Ruby
Ridge that needed 30 round magazines to defend themselves

  3. Greg Camp says:

It’s sad to see those old guns turned in–even if they’re junk, some of them have to have history. I did note that what looks to be a .25 pocket gun has its hammer cocked. And that crew wants us to believe that they’re all about safety.

Found this “article” earlier today and was going to jump in the comments (in which the antis are getting their collective asses handed to them, BTW), but alas, I do not have a Facebook account, and I probably won’t ever. Why do so many sites require you to be on Facebook to comment?

I was going to attack two angles that (then) hadn’t been covered yet. 1. Sure, the mass shootings have some things in common. She mentions semi-autos with “high-capacity magazines,” but here’s another: “Gun Free Zones”. 2. I seriously doubt she is trained as a gunsmith, so who the hell does she think she is to claim (again!) that semi-auto firearms are “easily converted” to full-auto? (this one has been handled nicely in the comments)

Their failings are right in front of their noses, but they refuse to see them. Or, Terry Goodkind’s “Wizard’s First Rule” (paraphrased): People are stupid. They will willingly believe any lie, either because they want it to be true, or are afraid it might be true. Let’s have some fun:

Point #1: Antis are afraid that gun owners with “dangerous weapons” will go crazy and shoot up schools, malls, police stations, churches, … etc., so they believe we’re all just one short step from it and need to be treated like rabid animals. Which brings us to…
Point #2: Antis want places to be “safe” from rabid gun owners, so they invented “Gun Free Zones” and filled them with rainbows and unicorn flatulence to keep themselves safe from harm, if a bit off-smelling. Contrary to popular belief, unicorn flatulence does NOT smell good; the Occupy movement is powered on the stuff, and I won’t go NEAR that place. 😉

But sadly, no Facebook, NO COMMENT FOR ME!!

By the anti-gun definition of “easy”, yes semi-auto guns can be “easily” converted to full auto….but blocks of bar stock can be “easily” converted to guns as well.

I am not a gunsmith or a machinist, so I doubt I could easily convert one of my semis to full-auto….but then again I find myself spending a LOT of time detail stripping some of my guns, and I bet all of these anti-gun dorks could FIELD strip most of the common gun designs.
