At less than six inches and just under 10 ounces, the Ruger .380 is considered by gun owners to be a great little pocket pistol.
So small, in fact, that you can sometimes get one onto an airplane.
D’oh!
Yep, the New York Daily News reports that a woman flew 938 miles from Orlando, Fla., to Newark, N.J., on Thursday with a loaded .380 in her purse. United flight 15 was airborne before she realized what she’d doneāand airport screeners had missed. How the Daily News said it unfolded:
She didn’t tell anyone on the plane about the weapon during the flight, which left Florida at 8:19 a.m.
But when she landed at Newark Airport at 10:24, she immediately told a Port Authority police officer.
Yep, they demand we remove our shoes, accept doses of harmful radiation, and touch our private parts, but the TSA can’t catch a lawful citizen with a pocket gun, let alone a dangerous terrorist!
Can we stop paying these goons and make flying pleasant? I mean its not like we’re any safer with them!

And in a shocking development, the PANYNJ police did the smart thing and did not press any charges. AMAZING!
Yeah I was surprised by that too! I wonder if all the drama from recent cases where lawful carriers have been charged for what are essentially honest mistakes are taking their toll.
Aw heck, let everyone be armed. A terrorist might shoot a couple of people before being put down like a rabid dog. It would help with those who want to try explosives, too.
Why on earth would anybody turn themselves in like this?
Oh no! I forgot that my pistol was in my purse, better tell the police that I committed a federal crime.
Tam pointed out today that she’s a fire fighter, which earned her a coveted New Jersey carry permit.
She’s an “Only One”, so she doesn’t count, I guess.
I like how they try to blame it on the gun being so small and not on the TSA screeners who were jerking off.
