WWJD

Not always the best course of action:

A Republican congressman representing Kansas has apologized for embarrassing his supporters by swimming naked at the holy site of the Sea of Galilee while on a fact-finding mission to Israel.

Freshman U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder, 36, has not been charged in the Aug. 18, 2011, incident in which he and about 20 other lawmakers and staff members jumped into the water. Politico reported Sunday that he was the only one among them who wore no clothes…..Some Christians consider the Sea of Galilee a holy site because they believe Jesus walked on water there. Swimming in the lake is permitted but public nudity is not allowed, according to Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

Now I suspect when Jesus and his contemporaries wanted to cool off on a hot day they’d strip down to their B-Day suit and go for a swim. Frankly I couldn’t care less that this dude did this, but given that he broke Israeli law, that’s a bit of a big deal.

WWJD isn’t always the best choice. Also if you’re a Republican and get caught doing something like this, you’ll always note your party affiliation will be put right in the lead!

There’s a simple explanation: he just thought he was Ted Kennedy.

*NOT* Jack Kennedy – *he* walked on water.
