A Nice History of Climate

Pretty solid story here:

Still I’m a bit disappointed that in the end he does (albeit briefly) acknowledge Dr. Mann’s involvement in “Climategate”, he didn’t really give any observations on WHY Climategate happened, and therefor why further research SHOULD be trusted when Mann’s research was junk.

I might argue that its a Science show, not a political talk show…still he did get REALLY political at the end without making the least bit of a nod to the controversy and corruption that surrounds this.

At this stage in the game, weather its true or not, any researcher who writes a paper showing that man-made carbon emissions are NOT effecting climate is killing their grant funding…much the same way the Marine Biologists and regulatory scientists at NMFS were tied to findings of declining fish stocks, because their agency exists to regulate the fishing industry, and if there isn’t a need for regulation there isn’t a need for their jobs.

Nobody will tell their boss that their job is superfluous!

my problem is that he ignored the fact that the Mann Hockey stick is bull shit, you can put any data in to that formula and get a hockey stick, and it ignores the medieval warming period, also know as hide the decline, and its a good thing he never talked about how in the past 10 years(or so) the global temp has been cooling, and cooled enough to get rid of the rise that the hockey stick showed.

lost of bad science for a youtube that tries to be all factual.

    I always appreciate good punmanship…. 😉

I occasionally like to tell people that I am “pro-Global Warming.” That is, I support the increased global temperature.

After all the interesting things in the video, I am even more pro-global warming.(Also, this is a really good YouTube series.)
