Curving a Bullet using conduit!

I posted in the comments asking if he could shoot a grouping through the pipe to see if the rounds maintain enough spin to maintain stability, or if they start to tumble after friction with the pipe. Hopefully he’ll do it for us.

  1. Thinking back to my physics studies, I would guess that they would try to normalize with the pipe. That is that the bullet tip will turn towards the curve of the pipe and try to bite into it resulting in tumbling and bouncing (although that would be cool regardless). A shallow enough curve and/or high enough velocity should permit it to exit before it normalizes with some stability left. Even though, i’d expect it to be thrown somewhat in the direction opposite the riflings rotation.

    …but that’s just a guess, I ain’t a rocket surgeon.

Looks like the conduit would have to be more stable for a group try. It looked like the shot moved it an inch or two.

    22LR Krummlauf, ha ha !

    Nice shot !
