“Gun Death” Bottle

Also a good example of “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished”

A fight with a woman during a bout of drinking left an 86-year-old man dead early Tuesday morning after the Good Samaritan had let him stay in her house in northeast Houston as the mercury plunged overnight….Police said a 60-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, allowed Badillo to stay in her home Monday night because of the cold weather. They were drinking alcohol together and got into an argument.

Police said the battle of words escalated into a fight, with Badillo hitting the woman in the face with a bottle. The woman then grabbed the bottle and smashed Badillo with it.

Both Badillo and the woman had injuries to their faces and heads. They were rushed to Memorial Hermann hospital, where Badillo was later pronounced dead.

Hard to say if this was self-defense or just straight up manslaughter, but the cause of death is alcohol, both the substance, and the container. So not a “Gun Death”. Does this mean that Prohibition and all its joys was “Common Sense”?

Also I know people who try to help panhandlers and drifters, its always a bad idea. When you meet somebody in a bad place with no friends and family to turn to, its likely because they burned every bridge with every person that ever loved them. You think as a stranger you’d fare better?
