Police said they are investigating events Wednesday night that ended with the stabbing death of a 24-year-old woman in Augusta.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to state police. Jillian Jones was found dead after police and a rescue team were summoned by a 911 call to the Crosby Street apartment she shared with her boyfriend, 38-year-old Justin Pillsbury.
Pillsbury was also found at the scene, suffering from stab wounds that police believe are self-inflicted. He was brought to Maine General Hospital, and as of Thursday afternoon was in stable condition. Police have not yet interviewed Pillsbury, but hope to in the coming days.
Interesting how A) The “Gun Death” crowd keeps saying that domestic violence is somehow related to guns. It isn’t. If you’re in an abusive relationship GET OUT! Do NOT wait around for something like this to happen! and B) Maine is crazy gun-friendly, there are zero hoops to jump through to get a gun in Maine, yet oddly enough the criminals will more often reach for the much more common knife.
