“Gun Death” Street Beating

This is a sick one:

Philadelphia police released a street-camera video Wednesday of a blind man taking a brutal beating in broad daylight.

The blind man, who was in the Germantown area, appeared to be pushed from behind and falls off the curb and into the street.

While on the ground, the blind man takes two punches, and then gets kicked nearly a dozen times by the attacker. He offered no defense. Police noted that there were bystanders in the video that did nothing to intervene. There were no calls to 911 until after the attack, and that call did not even specify that he had been attacked.

“A challenged person that can’t see is attacked in midday, and no one comes to his aid? That’s insanity,” one resident told MyFoxPhilly.com.

People didn’t even help or even call 911? The blind man is lucky to be alive, even a beating like this can easily turn out to be fatal. Nobody protected him, not Police, not citizens.

Sad, but not a “Gun Death”.

One Response to “Gun Death” Street Beating

  1. Robert Evans says:

When you disarm the law-abiding populace – – and Philly, among other blue cities, has done so – – you also take away most people’s incentive to intervene. Think about it: most people you encounter aren’t trained or physically fit enough to take on a street thug, who might be armed unlawfully anyway, since criminals don’t obey gun laws any more than they obey other laws. In a just world you see a blind man being attacked, what do you do? You take out your gun and shoot the attacker down like the dog he is. In a Star Trek world you use a phaser to stun him. Unfortunately, this ain’t a Star Trek world and we don’t yet have phasers, so we have use what we have.
