One of my favorite surplus pistols! Nice collector’s piece, and a great carry gun for those without a ton of money to burn.
Also one of the first malfs I’ve seen with the 82, all the examples I’ve shot run like a champ, even with the cheap Eastern Bloc ammo.
And Hornady makes some great defensive loads for it!
From my last check the surplus houses haven’t run out of them yet, so get them while you can!
I’ve got a couple. They’re really neat. Great fun. Ammo stocks are one of the main reasons I don’t use mine more.
BTW, many 1911 holsters can work real well for them.
I’ve got a Mak and I’d love to get one of these too. I think these are 10 or 12 rounds too if I’m not mistaken, my makarov is only 8.
12+1
Go ahead, leaves more ammo in ‘other’ calibers for me 🙂
If you can find any these days!
Well, sorry OldNFO, but while you are “Scrounging for Ammo,” I’m really, really thinking about what’s out there still gathering Dust on the Shelves and Buying a Good Gun that uses them. Don’t know about the rest of the Country, but my sources tell me that there’s plenty of .270 and .243 out there, and .40 S+W is available.
So, instead of bemoaning the fact that one doesn’t have enough Ammo for an AR, might I suggest that one gets a nice Scoped Remington for Long Distance, a 20 Gauge for House Work, and a .40 S+W to put on the belt? And of course, any good Combloc Weapon that you know will function just fine, as long as you can walk up to the Shelf and fill a Basket with Ammo.
BUT WHO THE HELL IS EATING THE .22 LR LIKE THEY WERE FRITOS?
i found a couple of these the other day at my local Granny’s Feed Lot. they both looked OK but had no, as in no, rifling left in the barrels.
Actually, they probably still had rifling.
Weird thing about the CZ 82. It’s got polygonal rifling. And it’s of a type that’s a pain to see.
Unless you already knew that and they were still worn out.
