Was listening to Penn’s Sunday School at work today, and he was talking about the carnival scam of a Jam Auction. Curious I did a search and found this video:
Neat scam. Not only is it taking advantage of people’s greed thinking they got something for nothing, but also they’re conditioning the marks into thinking they’re happy with the scam.
Much more interesting than the standard scam like this:
These people think THEY’RE doing the cheating, so they’re less willing to think they’re the ones being scammed.
As the old saying goes: “You can’t cheat an honest man”.

Some of this is interesting, but I remember seeing this show before and the con-man had this elaborate draw out hustle at a restaurant yet the end of the day all he did was “dine and ditch”. Meh.
