Who’s Buying this Crap???

This Images of the Antis really gets me scratching my head:

The ONLY thing that’s true is Marijuana, which is 100% illegal on the Federal level, tho locally there is a good deal of variation. Still the others? MORE regulated than the gun industry?

The caricature with the car has a set of keys and a driver’s license. Still you don’t need a license to buy, or own a car, or even drive it, so long as it is not on public roads…and frankly driving without a license is a minor offense. Also you can UNLAWFULLY KILL somebody with a car, and get your driver’s license back. Good luck having a negligent shooting and EVER getting your carry permit back. Also most offenses with guns are felonies which bars you from owning guns FOR LIFE.

Booze and cigarettes? Well you need to be a certain age to buy them legally….kinda like guns…as in EXACTLY like guns. With booze you MIGHT need a license to sell it…tho probably not the wine in the picture. Hell you can buy beer and smokes in just about every convenience store in America outside of a few places that still have stupid blue laws on the books, or state-sponsored monopolies.

Also you can give cigarettes and booze to other adults to your heart’s content…even if they live across state lines…even if they’re a felon, and you’re aware of it.

There is no analog to an FFL to the others. The BATFE also regulates Alcohol and Tobacco, so that’s on the same footing. Your driver’s license is good in 50 states and many foreign countries…yet carry permits are at best good in 30 some states.

There is NO way the antis believe this tripe!

Alcohol, Tobacco, FIREARMS, and Explosives, all under the same bureaucratic nightmare agency. Look. It. Up.

No, I think all too many of them DO believe this tripe. Reagan was right, they know a lot of things that aren’t so.

  3. Bob S. says:

And they don’t see the irony in the fact that more people die in incidents involving cars.
That alcohol has more long term health affects than firearms.
Tobacco — despite the fact is is heavily regulated more kids use it illegally then they illegally use firearms.

And dope? Seriously Mr./Ms. Anti — how much violence would be reduced if we just stop people from using an already illegal product?

Playing Saints Row 3, I’ve killed a LOT more people with cars than with guns.

Except the Mayhem missions, but those don’t count.

Typical response I get when I point out that cars kill more people annually than guns is “But that’s different, cars aren’t designed to kill people.” OH, OK! So if I design a parachute that happens to cause a hundred thousand deaths annually, it’s TOTALLY OK because it’s designed to save lives!

To exempt a cause of death simply because it was designed to be nonlethal is disingenuous, corrupt, and deceitful.

Seriously, they DO believe this crap. They think you can walk into a gunshow and buy a belt fed machinegun with a bag of cash and a wink.

    • Geodkyt says:

(Which might be true, if the gunshow was located in Khandahar. . . )

      • Rob Crawford says:

I suspect if you pressed them, they’d claim there is no nation in the world as heavily “armed” as the US, and that the US has a uniquely dangerous and irresponsible “gun culture”.

Never mind the third-world habit of celebratory gunfire. Never mind that there are parts of the world where you ARE assumed to be less than a man if you don’t have an AK on your shoulder. Never mind the bazaars where everything from a Mark III .22 to an RPG can be bought.
