No idea why, but I love the VZ-61 Skorpion by CZ. I’m not a full-auto guy, but if the Hughes Amendment was repealed I’d strongly consider getting one. No interest in the semi-auto pistols and SBRs you can find.
They just look like fun, don’t they?

Looks like the kind of gun that would make gun grabbers cry. It’s all the more desirable, just for that.
Same here. As a semi-auto pistol, it’s just too big. As a rifle, too small. But as a SMG/PDW, it is just right!
And, it has an honest to goodness ‘shoulder thing that goes up’!
Also in a “pistol” something that size ONLY in .32 ACP??? Yeah.
Tho if I had my choice I’d get my SMG in 9×18 Mak!
They DID make a variant of the Skorpion in 9×18 Makarov. . . as well as in .380ACP.
I had a chance to fire a standard Vz61 about 20 years ago. Made the mistake of firing the first magazine from the hip, all bad-assed like. Sprayed a brass fountain right up my nose {chuckle}.
The new Skorpion EVO III 9mm SMG (no relation) replaced it recently, but I think the 9×18 variant was still being issued to Czech tank and truck crews, probably still is because I bet they haven’t made enough of the new guns to replace all the various VZ61 variants they’ve made.
Oh yeah. I, too, have that same irrational desire.
9×18? Oh HELL yeah.
