Quote of the Day

From Tam on Swiss and their weapons and what they’re used for:

The fundamental difference can be summed up in the fact that participation in schutzenfest is seen as a civic duty in Switzerland, while our second most popular televised sport is directly based on running from the cops. 😉

Yep NASCAR’s roots are from moonshine runners evading the cops in fast cars. Rights and Need have a common origin but quickly deviate once we’re past the hardship of need.

Of course the converse is also true, the antis want to disarm us because society is so safe we don’t NEED those icky guns…which leads to an unsafe society where we are victims to the monsters among us.

The Anti-gun movement says that society is safe enough that we no longer need guns, then this happens:

“There needs to be a proper trade-off between safety and freedom, and things have swung too far towards the latter”
    -Hillary Clinton-2014

If society is so safe, why is Hillary arguing that society has too much freedom and therefore isn’t safe? It’s like they don’t have a consistent argument or something.

Because she has an armed security detail for the rest of her life. She’s as safe as anybody can be. Safety doesn’t concern her a whit…but now individuals with freedom, and the ability to resist tyranny concerns her a lot!

Interesting that you highlight NASCAR as based on moonshiners attempting to avoid the ATF. I believe they were just as much “jack booted thugs” trying to stop moonshiners as they are trying to stop our RTKBA. I personally don’t believe their attempts to stop “untaxed” booze is any more praiseworthy than their attempts to block private gun ownership, and I do believe that opposition to the ATF, from any direction, deserves something other than ridicule.
