This is just so damn insensitive! Joan has up a post called “Virginia Tech remembered – and other April shootings” where she says:
As poet T. S. Eliot wrote, “April is the cruelest month.” It’s true. It’s so disturbing that the month needs to be remembered for so many shootings:
…April 15, 2013 -The Boston Marathon bombing, of course, killed 3, injured many and caused terror to many. But it also did involve several shootings when one of the bombers shot and killed a police officer and the other suspect was shot and injured by law enforcement authorities after a long search that terrorized the Boston area for days.
There you have it! Straight up “Only Gun Deaths Count!” Yeah three people were killed in the bombing and HUNDREDS injured and severely maimed….but also one cop was shot, and the bombers themselves caught some lead! THAT’S THE IMPORTANT PART!
FUCK YOU! When the Bombing happened I was in Boston, and had to go to the train station to get home…the crowded train station.
All I could think was I was walking DIRECTLY to a good target, and I was unarmed because of work.
When the city was in a subsequent lockdown, I was at home armed, not just with a pistol, but a rifle as well.
Hey, but we can’t have guns, because they are ICKY! And the blood of the people of Boston is good enough to dance in for Joan.
I wonder if they dance in blood because they don’t have any of their own in their veins…
Damn, didn’t realise you were close to the bombing.
Wasn’t it Joan’s people who later named the bomber as a victim of “gun violence”?
She just called the murderer a victim of ‘gun violence’ in *this* statement.
The days long siege of Boston wasn’t carried out because of a shooting, but the shooting at the end of it sure seem to be more important to her than the bombing.
I really wonder about her sanity at times…
I don’t. I know she’s nuts.
Best post title yet, Weerd!
Thanks man, she really rubbed me the wrong way with this one.
April 20, 1889
Hitler’s Birthday …. which is why so many terrorist acts are carried out in April.
So by Joan and Jason’s definition, you are now a ‘victim of gun violence’.
Wow, you have a point there!
