I once spent about 20 minutes with a couple of gun store employees trying to figure out the proper way to switch the thing from pump to semi. We never did.
But, this world is full of guns under the “looks cool, but is utter crap” category.
1 inch button under the forearm you push in and slide the forearm forward for automatic mode. How is that difficult?
But Muldoon!!!!
Didn’t Muldoon get nailed without firing a shot?
Yeah, but he looked so cool right up until the raptor jumped him and ate his guts! Which is totally the point with as SPAS-12
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, but I think Grant was the only one who actually got a shot off.
“Which is totally the point with as SPAS-12”
The “looking cool” part, not the “getting your guts eaten by a raptor” part.
And the dang thing stovepiped…
Well, they WERE going for authenticity.
But the Survivialist in Jerry Ahern’s series swore by this gun. It has to be awesome.
😉
Sad to see a gun not live up to the hype or potential.
When I remember that the company behind the SPAS also produced a shotgun that was basically a copy of an Auto-5, a rifle that was basically a copy of a CETME, and another rifle that is basically a copy of a FAL, it shouldn’t surprise me that one of their few attempts at a novel idea failed miserably.
