As you may know my early adult years I was a Democrat, but I was never registered with the party because Maine does not include party affiliation in voter registration, you need to do that directly with the party in a separate process. In Massachusetts you MUST declare a party affiliation in your registration. Since I was a Republican by the time I moved to Mass I registered as one. I have since become disgusted with the Republican party so I switched my registration from “Republican” to “Unenrolled”.
So yeah I don’t have a dog in the partisan battles…but that doesn’t mean I support stupidity:
Well isn’t that a whopper! Let’s look at the “Republican” Affiliates.
The Ku Klux Klan, and organization founded by the Democrats of the Southern states. I’m not going to be an ass and claim that Democrats are Klan sympathizers, but I will note that Klan Members in politics like Robert Byrd and David Duke were Democrats. Duke later switched his affiliation to Republican because unlike Byrd they didn’t like his Klan affiliation and drummed him out of the party. He wasn’t any more popular as a Republican, so yeah, so while not all Democrats wear sheets to rallies, all politicians who ever wore sheets to rallies were Democrats.
The National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NAZI Party). Um yeah, they’re “Progressive” Socialists….kinda like ALL the major Democrats in US Politics. It’s always prattled that the Nazis under Hitler were an extreme example of Right-Wing politics…and while the current leadership in the GOP sure does love war and government control, I fail to see any similarities between the Nazis and Republicans…I can’t say the same about Democrats. Again, not saying Democrats are Goose-Stepping Jew Burners, but I am saying their love of big government, national socialism, and how giddy many of them are at the assaults on Israel, and their open contempt against anybody with religious faith does seem a bit telling.
And the Westboro Baptist Church…founded by a Democrat! And the (albeit shitty) law combating his obnoxious protests was submitted by a Republican and signed into law by George W. Bush.

The funny thing is that, if you tell them theses things they become FURIOUS! And do everything but stick their fingers in their ears. I love it.
The usual casual response is that The National Socialist German Workers’ Party wasn’t really ‘socialist’.
Not sure how/why they defend socialists, but OK.
Suspiciously Specific Denial
Don’t forget that the original core of the “Moral” Majority/Christian Coalition was actually disenfranchised Dixiecrats who jumped party after being burned by Lyndon Baines.
And of course LBJ didn’t much care for the Negros…or Women!
