When I launched the spring for my Jennings J-22 Bob tipped me off about Numrich Gun Parts
I quickly ordered up TWO (so I can launch another one and not sweat it) mainsprings (Or “Striker Springs” as the catalog calls it, FYI pet peeve, in the Brownells catalog lists all sorts of 1911 mainspring housings…. but the spring that is housed within the unit are listed as “1911 Hammer Spring”. WTF? The spring that discharges the cartridge is a MAIN SPRING, don’t muddy the water!!)
I also ordered a magazine for my Colt 1908 .25 because the 90+ year old one I have is showing its age, and I’d like to put it out to pasture to preserve it. All items were had for reasonable price and shipping, and arrived in good time on my door. Also I was pleased to see the magazine appears to be a factory-original colt…tho of a vintage newer than my gun.
And of course as life goes, as I was putting my gun on this morning happened to be looking at JUST the right angle to spy the lost spring for my Jennings under some clutter on my reloading bench! Heh, well I’m glad to have TWO spares now, rather than just one!

You know… I could have recommended this place to you but it’s one of those things that I thought all gunnies knew about… ๐ I figured you had already looked there.
In the future, I will allow you to tell me you knew that one ๐
heh thanks!
Numrich also BUYS junkers and parts collections if you don’t feel like trying to re-home oddball leftover parts at gun shows or online yourself. They generate a lot more traffic for oddball stuff than I could ever generate myself, so context depending, sometimes it makes more sense to sell stuff to them for 70-80% of what you would get if you spent a year or more trying to sell them yourself.
SARCO is often a good place to check for weird stuff, too. Buying or Selling.
