Junk Gun

So I feel the need to write a post about my Jennings

So I brought my Jennings to the Blogger shoot and shot it a good deal. During cleaning I Lost the mainspring

I got a replacement and promptly found the original hiding among my reloading supplies. So I decided to put it back together while listening to the most excellent B-B&Guns Radio show.

I dunno what I was doing wrong, but it was like two monkeys fucking a football in the ‘ol armory! Seriously the gun is SO SIMPLE!

But I launched the mainspring, the slide, the retention plug, and the striker, and had to hunt for all of them at various times, and did find all thanks to me calling them in with cuss words.

Finally got the damn thing back together, and good thing because I really LIKE this pistol. Its cheaply made, made of potmetal, and obviously is a bitch to take apart. Its also a master of jamming. That being said its really fun, it didn’t cost me hardly anything at all, its surprisingly accurate (at least my unit is…I’ve heard others that keyhole like its their job!) and the sights are actually quite good for a pocket pistol.

I must remember not to take it apart quite so much, tho….

Disassembly box. They are a nice thing to build for yourself for the bench. Reduces the chance of such happenstances.

This post brought to you by the guy that likes to fiddle with pocket watches when he isn’t annoying people on the internets.
If guns get outlawed, I’ll be the outlaw fixing watches with guns? 🙂

You can blame the radio show guests. We don’t mind — if we’re distracting, we’re entertaining! 🙂

I had a pawn shop rip me off once so I decided to return the favor. I traded them a defective scope (bad internal lens, could not focus) for a stainless jennings.

It’s very picky about ammo but the perfect “bathroom gun.”

If my door gets kicked in while I’m in the shower, you got a good chance of making it out alive cause all I got is the Jennings.

How does yours run? Mine stovepipes like its going out of style, but I’m amazed at how accurate it is for such a short pistol of such poor quality.

Tho again there’s a pretty prominent review of a J-22 where the author produces a target filled with .22 keyholes.

Also “Stainless Jennings” would imply there’s more than a little bit of steel in the barrel and the mag body. Rest of your gun is mostly Zinc with wrapped in Nickle like the candy coating on an M&M!
