She made me make her pancakes! I understand that its an American staple, but I just don’t LIKE pancakes. I’d rather have eggs, or cereal, or leftovers from dinner for my breakfast than pancakes.
I asked her what recipe she wanted, and she suggested the one on the Bisquick box. HELL NO! I don’t like pancakes, I don’t like lame-ass white-flour pancakes even more! Thankfully the Mrs. had fielded a recipe using Spelt Flour that I rather enjoyed, so I grabbed the cookbook for that. I still like to tell her she’s mispronouncing the word.
The headaches are still an issue, and she still needs lots of rest, but things are getting MUCH better.
Unix Jedi says I should inform her that she should guff up as the pain is all in her head! 😉

I like my pancakes with blueberries, raspberries, bananas, or chocolate chips mixed in. When I am really wild I’ll dump a bag of M&Ms in the batter.
I was chatting with a friend last night and I had her repeat part of her recipie – the part where she added Smelt. I, too, was informed that smelt was a type of wheat. Although it wasn’t as funny as last weekend when she asked me what a “kwayhoag” was. I said it was an indian food name, meaning shellfish for tourist!
Pancakes aside, yeah, let the missus enjoy her recovery. Some of it should be like a mini vacation. She gave up a piece of her brain just to get a few days off of work, you can get makin’ with the pancakes 🙂

Yeah “Spelt” is a grain of some sort (see wiki link above…I didn’t read it…didn’t care) SMELT is a small fish often fished by drunk Mainers in Ice Shacks.

Good to hear buddy. Good to hear. You know…. pancakes aren’t the first thing that I reach for when I think breakfast, but my wife puts in a little flavored coffee mate (liquid or powder) and it is incredible. Especially if you can find the blueberry cobbler. Unfortunately, it is a seasonal flavor. Creme Brulee Coffeemate is also the bomb. Just replace a bit of the water with the flavored yummy liquid.
