Images of the Antis: Ironically True

I don’t think they meant this comic to come out this way:

As a little boy I had a security blanket, and I always was confused by the term. Of course the blanket made me FEEL more comfortable, while providing no security at all!

Linus’ old blanket was the same way, but his new gun does indeed has some practical applications.

Of course Charlie Brown looks so bewildered about it because he’s an idiot

“Gun Death” Black Widow

The classic, find a man with money, marry him, become his beneficiary, and kill him:

When Isao Kakehi, a 75-year-old retired salaryman, was found dead on the floor of his home last December, the police at first believed the cause to be heart failure.

But a sharp-eyed detective grew suspicious. He noticed that Mr. Kakehi, a longtime widower, had suddenly remarried the month before his death, and to a woman he had just met through a dating agency. When a test of the dead man’s blood revealed lethal cyanide, the police began an investigation of his bride, Chisako, now 68, on suspicion of murder.

There were five others who met a similar fate to the same woman.

Hey, but no guns were involved!

Images of the Antis: WTF

I generally have an idea what’s being said by an anti-gun cartoon.

This one I have NO idea….

What am I missing here? I feel like I’m looking a a Jackson Pollack painting.

Can you make heads or tails out of this mess?

“Gun Death” Sarah Brady

So Sarah passed away while I was on vacation, and I thought of how to address it. Part of me was just thinking about saying nothing. Jim and Sarah Brady were just the namesake of the Brady Campaign, they didn’t do much lobbying, nor did they run any of the day-to-day of what was once Handgun Control Inc.

Miguel wrote a tasteful epitaph pointing out that we are better than the rabid animals in CSGV and other anti-gun people who like to gloat.

I’m not one to gloat, she wasn’t a major player in a group that itself is no longer a major player in depriving the rights of lawful citizens. Still the custom of not speaking ill of the dead upsets me. I refuse to speak differently of a person regardless of their orientation in relation to the sod. I say this not because I lack impulse control, or because I have a right to say what I want and don’t care about being polite. Nope, I speak my mind about all people because I don’t want somebody to blow smoke up my ass in person if they don’t like me just to be polite. Also I don’t want somebody giving me condolences when a loved one to me dies, or a loved one when I die, and not knowing if they’re just being polite.

So yeah, she was a bad person, her husband was wounded in an assassination attempt, and she made it her life’s mission to violate the US constitution, and disgustingly, EVERYTHING she supported would not have prevented the attack….nor did any of these laws save a single life, and likely they got good people killed. Also like Mark Kelly, there is some decent evidence that she was manipulating a mentally disabled person for political gain. I don’t know this for certain, but if it IS true, this is the very definition of evil.

Still all of the above prattling aside, I thought of this bullshit story! Since some politically grandstanding assholes decided to declare James Brady as a “gun homicide” even though he died as a senior citizen over 30 years old after he was shot.

So yeah, today’s “Gun Death”? File is Sarah Brady:

Sarah Brady, who with her husband, James Brady, pushed for stricter gun control laws, including the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, died Friday, her family said.

Brady, 73, died of pneumonia, the family said.

So she died at 73 (the same age as Jim when he passed), she was indeed NEVER shot, and pneumonia was the cause of death, which is a common killer of seniors. Still pneumonia is an infection of the lungs, and Sarah Brady was a heavy smoker in life. (and according to this story a heavy drinker too…she mentions drinking a pair of martinis directly after cancer surgery…I love martinis, but sorry, if I’m laid up in the hospital, that’s not the first thing on my mind)

So yeah, maybe she should have pushed anti-tobacco laws rather than anti-gun laws….oh yeah, SHE LIKED smoking! Only tread on the rights you don’t use!

“Gun Death” Sick Woman

Kills her son and Grand Daughter:

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that a grandmother was arraigned for the murder of her son and 7-month-old granddaughter.

…The sheriff’s office was called to the Oxford home on Kintyre Drive Nov. 23. Once inside, deputies said they found both bodies. The Sheriff’s office said a box cutter was found **DEPARTED** and **DEPARTED** bodies and believed that was the murder weapon.

…”For whatever reason she came to the conclusion the son and the child would be better off if they weren’t alive,” Bouchard said. “Sadly.”

She had a plan to kill two people, and she didn’t have a gun, and she successfully killed those two people. Why do we talk so much about “Gun Death” again?

Images of the Antis: Fear Mongering

Remember, the antis always say the NRA and pro-gun groups are paranoid and peddling fear:

Baldr Fear

When was the last time you saw a total stranger open carrying a firearm? For me it was the last time I saw a police officer. I know very few police officers, and generally when I see one, there’s his service weapon in it’s holster.

But NO! The antis will point out, cops are better trained and vetted and blah blah blah! Well yeah, except due to their relationship with the law they are more likely to break it.

Now while we can certainly admit there are corrupt police forces, and there are otherwise good forces that will stand up for bad officers, still I can easily say that most police officers are good. Still statistically you have a LOT more to fear from them than the average Joe who didn’t bother to cover his gun.

Also with all the open carry demonstrations and, let’s be honest, drama, who has been harmed? Who has been killed? Can you say the same about Police?

Of course Police’s job is different than an armed citizen….Police HAD to arrest a man selling smokes on the street corner.

Either way the difference is REALLY stark, you don’t have much cause to be fearful in this country in general, as it is very safe, but in a toe-to-toe comparison between cops and open carriers, the open carriers are handily the safest….and yet they DEMAND you fear them.

You MUST fear them, because they want you to HATE them, because hatred is an easy tool to allow them to strip us of our rights!

“Gun Death” Reality Star

Just bad genetic luck:

A Brooklyn man who competed on “The Biggest Loser: Couples” has passed away.

Damien Gurganious, who was a contestant on the weight-loss reality show in 2009 along with his then-fiancée Nicole Brewer Gurganious, died from a rare autoimmune disorder on Nov. 24. He passed away one week after celebrating his 38th birthday.

… “Damien suffered from the sudden onset of a rare autoimmune disorder, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which caused inoperable bleeding in his brain. He will be missed by all who knew him,” reads a statement on the fund’s website.

The couple competed on the seventh cycle of “The Biggest Loser” in order to lose weight for their wedding, which was held in August 2009. Despite being eliminated in the third week, the couple lost a combined 264 pounds.

The only logical solution is to ban guns, of course!

Home Again

God that was a well needed vacation!!! Everybody had a great time.

Sorry to my Homies in Florida, I was booked solid while I was there and couldn’t do a blog meet-up.

Got a LOT of sun and got nice and warm, which is NOT how it’s done here in New England right now. Also LaWeer’da got acquainted with lots of Florida Critters.

Of Course Cranes and Ibis were “Goose” and the Alligators were “Turtle!”

Also she did VERY well on the plane ride!

Plane Sleep

She didn’t sleep the whole time, and when she woke up, she wanted OUT of her seat, but once she realized that we still had more flying to do, and that Mommy and Dada had packed lots of cool toys the trip went smoothly, and both trips we were complimented on how well she behaved….which is awesome, because I never want to be “That Dad”.

“Gun Death” Bear Strike

Pretty Crazy Story:

Three people were killed and eight others injured in a chain reaction accident involving a bear and multiple vehicles in the Florida Everglades Sunday night.

The crashes started when an SUV driven by Carloline Billie struck and killed a black bear in a remote area in the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation in Hendry County. The bear was killed instantly in the crash. The crash also left Billie’s car partially off the road and partially in the oncoming lane of traffic.

Seminole Police said three pickup trucks were driving on the road and all three pulled off to help. Eight people in the trucks got out of their cars and tried to help Billie at the scene. Moments later, a car driving the other way hit the SUV, sideswiped one of the trucks, and rolled over several times, hitting seven of the good Samaritans.

The car that rolled over was driven by Gary McInturff of Hollywood and had three members of his family in the car. Seminole Police said three of the good Samaritans were killed when the vehicle rolled over them.

Wow…but not a “Gun Death”
