“Gun Death” Carplay

When I read that she was a boxer, I thought she might have been killed in relation to the sport. Nope:

The Cleveland police said that Cashmere Jackson, a 26-year-old former light welterweight national boxing champion, died after she jumped onto the hood of a car driving toward her after an altercation, fell off and was accidentally run over by a different vehicle.

Do we ban cars, or ban boxing just to be safe?

Powerful NRA Ad

The NRA has been doing some really high quality ads recently. Most of them don’t do anything for me. Now that doesn’t mean they’re BAD ads, as I am NOT the target demographic for them. I’m a devoted life-member and a 2nd Amendment activist, it’s not like I NEED ads to support the NRA.

Still this one blew me away:

Man this hits so many anti-gun talking points.

– Gun owners are paranoid.

-If you live in a “Good Neighborhood” you don’t NEED a gun.

-Gun Owners live in constant fear.

She lived in a “Good Neighborhood”. She “Felt” safe. Those things did nothing for her. Guns don’t make you FEEL safer, they just give your more options to MAKE yourself safer.

“Gun Death” Grain Bin

A terrible way to die:

Authorities in Lancaster, Wisconsin say a 9-year-old boy who died after becoming trapped in a grain bin on his family’s farm wasn’t trying to fix equipment as previously thought.

The boy fell into the grain bin and was killed. Grain contains Gluten which is the devil. Ban grain!!!!

Play Me Out: Lemmy

LaWeer’da loves music. She’s been digging the Ozzy’s Boneyard on Sirius XM. One outing in the car a few songs featuring Lemmy came up, and she really dug it, so I started playing more Motorhead for her.

Here’s a gem I found:

“Gun Death” Over Stuff

They say you shouldn’t resist a robber because your stuff isn’t worth your life. Sometimes it is:

An art school graduate who had just moved into a rooming house was strangled and beaten to death by another tenant trying to rob her, police said Wednesday.

…He apparently believed she had a large amount of cash, said police Lt. Walter Bell, who would not disclose what Jakson allegedly stole.

Police said the events likely began unfolding Sunday night during a confrontation in the rooming house. **REDACTED** allegedly killed Araujo during a struggle, stuffed her body in a duffel bag, then drove her car — filled with her belongings — to a vacant lot in north Philadelphia, police said.

I can’t speculate on the items stolen, but picking on an art school graduate as somebody to rob is not the wisest decision if you want to make your fortune.

God forbid this young woman had bought a gun to protect herself. There might have been a “Gun Death”, and the anti-rights people would find that deplorable. This outcome is preferable to them.

What do you think?

“Gun Death” Psychotic Youth

It is NOT the gun, it’s the person!

Police in suburban Cincinnati say a 14-year-old boy suspected of killing his infant stepsister by intentionally smothering her is in custody at a juvenile facility.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports a detective wrote in a sworn statement that the teenager said he covered the sleeping infant’s face with a pillow because he heard voices telling him to do that. The newspaper says an arrest slip indicates the boy has a psychiatric disorder.

All homes have pillows, many homes have infants, a good deal of those infants have older siblings. Hell even a good part of those siblings could be declared “mentally ill” depending on where you set the bar for that. Still we don’t read about this every day.

It is the person, not the tool they use to kill.

Images of the Antis: Blackface

We see it again.

First up, Cool Strawman Bro! Yeah, those Open Carry “Cosplayers” covered in MOLLE gear with their guns all covered with cheap after-market accessories, their rifle at low ready on the single-point sling do look a little silly drinking coffee at Starbucks or buying a burrito at Chipotle. Still have you EVER seen somebody carrying THREE ARs? How about the double ankle carry? Also what is he going to do with those belts of ammo?

Of course we have that menacing sneer, because let’s face it, every gun owner is just LOOKING for a reason to start a mass shooting!

Now here’s the rub. Guns aren’t cheap. Even a Hi-Point runs over $100 new, Most ARs are going to be in striking distance of $1,000, and feeding them ammo is not cheap either. This means that generally shooters and 2nd Amendment activists tend to be wealthier than the general population. Oddly enough start chatting on the range, or at a 2nd Amendment rally you’ll find the crowd full of Doctors, Lawyers, Scientists, and Engineers.

Even still, this isn’t an appeal to authority. The anti-gun people are claiming that gun owners are dangerous, with no cases of rallies turning into blood baths, and I have yet to see a Mass Shooter who cared in the least for their rights to own guns. They also claim that more guns mean more crime, at a time when more people own guns than ever in the history of this nation, and we have the lowest crime rate in over 50 years.

Man, those claims sound REALLY dumb, don’t they? But yeah, gunnies are dummies!

“Gun Death” Gross One

How is this even possible?

Human rights organizations are calling for a federal investigation into the death of Darren Rainey, who was allegedly locked in a shower so hot it stripped the skin from his body

On the night of June 23, 2012, 50-year-old Darren Rainey, a mentally ill inmate at Florida’s Dade Correctional Institution, was allegedly taken from his cell and locked in a closet-size shower. Guards then turned up the water to 180 degrees and walked away. Two hours later, he was dead; large swathes of skin had peeled from his body because of the intense heat. When he was finally taken to the infirmary, his internal temperature was so high that it couldn’t be measured by a thermometer.

Not only is this sick, and horrible, but how is the water heat in the prison showers THAT hot. In cool weather I like REALLY hot showers. In hot weather I like my showers cold. No matter the season the WORST shower is a tepid one. Why would we pay MONEY to heat water that hot for prison showers. The heat on max should just be warm enough to be comfortable, it’s cost-effective, it’s safe, it’s humane, but there is no luxury.

Also I’ll have to add that the departed was serving a deuce for drug possession. So not only is this not a “Gun Death” but it is also a death from the War on Drugs.

The Squirrels Talk Science and Psudo-Science

This is going to be a great show tonight!

A Primer on what we’ll be talking about is here.

I’m a scientist, and even before I had a degree or got my first paycheck for research I was a scientist. I didn’t realize it until I dated a woman who was NOT a scientist. Now my wife is a scientist, but that doesn’t mean there was anything WRONG with non-scientists, but people who haven’t spent a lot of time PROVING a hypothesis, and lived their lives as skeptics of things that couldn’t be easily observed or quantified see the world a LOT differently. Correlation DOES mean causation to them. They wore that pair of jeans and had a shitty day, the solution is to throw that pair of jeans away. They had a friend who was Catholic, and they were a self-centered asshole, so ALL Catholics are self-centered assholes, and probably anybody who goes to Church is too.

Today “Scientists” are celebrated by people with no scientific understanding, and so when they folly, it is assumed as a “scientist” they are beyond reproach.

This is definitely a topic you need to be a part of. So tune in at 9pm EST, and call in at 214-530-0036!

It’s THE SQUIRREL REPORT!!
