“Gun Death” Great Mom

So Sad!

The San Jose mom, identified as 23-year-old REDACTED, handed off the unconscious, blond baby, half-dressed in a Cookie Monster diaper and blue, striped pullover shirt. The disheveled woman then tried to get into Harris’ vehicle, where his own 2- and 3-year-old girls sat quietly in their car seats.

“She thought we were going to take the baby and go to the hospital — she was in a really bad place; you could tell,” said Harris. “She handed me her baby, and asked me to help her baby — she thought he was still alive.”

God, there are just monsters among us, and they don’t need guns to be monsters….

Pedantic Observation on a Brilliant Post

Larry has a great post up on hypocritical leftie celebrity know-nothings and human trafficking.

But the left hates the private sector, so hiring Blackwater (or whatever they are named this week) to gleefully give slavers some stylish new 5.56 body piercings is out of the question. So we’re back to being useless or taking military action. And if we drop Navy SEALs on these assholes, you guys really need to think through how come it is okay for our guys to kill these woman abusing assholes, but not other woman abusing assholes. Those assholes, left wingers invite to speak at Ivy League colleges.

…Sometimes I wish that Exodus was a real organization—a bunch of warriors dedicated to brutally killing slavers and evil warlords in the places where law has broken down and chaos rules—only in real life I bet the morons holding up the signs on Twitter would complain about what horrible violent cismale gendernormative colonialists they were. They’d probably come up with a catchy hash tag or something.

Swords of Exodus
is a friggin AWESOME book, and his story of human slavery does vastly more than these shallow twitter pictures.

Go read the whole thing, because this is NOT what I’m talking about. I’m talking about this picture from his blog:

First up, why does a mulit-millionare like Sean Penn have such a shitty CRT TV in what looks like a library? Second it looks like only Ben Stiller and the dude I don’t recognize took the time to make their own signs. The other sings are IDENTICAL. Have a look at the image, they have the same shading and “Don’t” seems to have some printing defect on it, or the marker used to make it was running low on ink. Maybe somebody distributed a file that each guy printed out, or it’s the SAME SIGN just being passed around. I’d assume from the defect on the “Don’t” it’s the latter. **UPDATE** Ratus notes there is a brown coffee-type stain on the lower left corner of the sign. Yep it’s the same sign for all them, and the pictures are likely from 2011!!

Either way they are ALMOST doing nothing, and expect us to be impressed.

Hell even for this stupid blog post I took the time to type it myself, that’s a lot more than what they did.

Hard to Read it Any Other Way

Wow this is a shocking story:

An Ohio man has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against a sheriff’s deputy and a state trooper, accusing them of using excessive force after he was shot in the eye with a Taser stun gun, causing permanent near blindness.

…Last May, Kelly was asleep in the passenger seat when his friend was pulled over for drunken driving on Interstate 71 between Cincinnati and Columbus, according to The Columbus Dispatch, (http://bit.ly/1sxLahz).

When Ohio State Trooper Bryan Cook woke Kelly, he was startled and began flailing his arms, according to the lawsuit.

Fayette County Deputy Clinton Sines then drew his Taser, opened the passenger door and shouted for Cook to get out of the truck and show his hands as he grabbed the back of Kelly’s sweatshirt and tried to pull him out, the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit says Sines was apparently unaware that a still-confused Kelly was restrained by his seat belt.

“I’ll taze you,” Sines told Kelly as he continued to yank Kelly from the truck, according to the lawsuit.

When Sines’ grip slipped, Kelly rose. That’s when Sines fired his Taser, striking Kelly in the right eye, where a Taser prong became lodged.

Kelly fell back into the seat and covered his head with both arms, and Sines fired a second jolt into his eye, the lawsuit says.

When Sines tried to pull Kelly out of the car again, that’s when he realized Kelly’s seat belt was on. Cook then reached in and released it.

Kelly was taken to a nearby hospital, where an eye surgeon had to remove the Taser prong, the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit says that the Taser permanently damaged Kelly’s retina and caused near-total vision loss in his right eye. It says he also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, other psychological injures and has caused a loss of enjoyment of his life.

I’m not sure of the START of this story, but I can see how somebody can be drunk enough to know they need to have their friend drive them home, but not aware enough to know their friend might not be in the best condition to drive. I’ve certainly seen more than enough people say “No, I’m fine!” when they shouldn’t be driving. Thankfully in my case that was never their last words.

Still from the sound of it this guy was PASSED out, what’s the damn hurry to get him out of the car? Sure sounds like the cop was looking to clear the vehicle lickety-split, given that he woke the man up hard enough that he flailed, and was pulling him out without noting his seatbelt was fastened.

I mean, you have the door open, and you have a taser and a gun, why not step back a few feet first? Also why would you EVER have a taser pointed at somebody’s head? Not only can you have horrible damage like this being done, but also I would wonder how effective the charge from the device would be if it stuck into somebody’s cheek or forehead.

Seems like stupidity that put this man’s eye out!

Threats to Boehner

He’s obviously crazy, because what exactly does he expect Boehner to do?

Federal prosecutors have charged an Indiana man with threatening to kill House Speaker John Boehner, who is second in line to the presidency after Vice President Joe Biden.

…The FBI reported that Thompson was angry because House Republicans had not approved a bill to extend unemployment benefits. Thompson’s $341 weekly unemployment check ended on Jan. 11.

According to an FBI affidavit, Thompson threatened Boehner, R-West Chester, in one email and two voicemail messages left on the personal cellphone of Boehner’s wife, Debbie.

Sorry, but Boehner is a worthless RINO, he’s not doing any of us any good, and threats won’t change that!

The FBI said that Thompson has a concealed-carry permit. Although he does not have a criminal record, the FBI reported that Indiana law-enforcement officials had five protective orders filed against him between 2001 and this year.

So he legally can’t own a gun, and it doesn’t sound like he actually DOES own one. Also I doubt that permit will be active for long. The antis might dive on this as some sort of “Concealed Carry Killer” story, but this really shows how laws work. First up he has a clean criminal record, second he’ll likely become a prohibited person without hurting anybody.

So it goes, very few people “Just snap” and kill somebody, instead they leave a massive paper trail and if they DO kill somebody it’s really Law Enforcement, or the judicial system dropping the ball.

“Gun Death” Another Stabbing

in Connecticut where they have stupid gun laws:

A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death inside a Connecticut high school Friday, and police were investigating whether a boy attacked her after she turned down an invitation to be his prom date.

Again we all have knives, and we all have upsetting news, often worse than being turned down for a date. Hell don’t get me STARTED on my Senior Prom! It was a miserable experience, and I had just started collecting swords! No deaths there.

Still Connecticut only cares about “Gun Death” so nothing to see here!

“Gun Death” Mercy Killing

This one needs some discussion:

An ailing Arizona mother and her special-needs 12-year-old daughter have been discovered dead in their Mesa home as a result of an apparent murder-suicide.

According to police, officers responding to a 911 call went to a home where a man said he’d returned from work Monday and found his wife and daughter dead.

…Landato says the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death but that evidence at the scene suggests possible asphyxiation and prescription drug overdose.

…Landato says the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death but that evidence at the scene suggests possible asphyxiation and prescription drug overdose.

Now I will never say such “Mercy Killings” are justified, especially if the departed is a child. Also the reports aren’t conclusive that this killing was even reasonable.

Still I may point out if she had killed this little girl in the womb, no issues.

No matter what, this sad story is not a “Gun Death”.

Government Waste

As a libertarian I’m for shrinking the size of government in general where ever we can. I’m not so hard-line that I think there is no need for ANY public projects or agencies, still stories like this really show me that all of them can stand to have their budget’s slashed so they can behave like any public entity and not spend money like budding rappers in strip clubs.

Story #1:

The National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently tried to mail a drone from an Air Force base in Florida to one of its own animal sanctuaries in Massachusetts. A fairly simple procedure, you might assume, but also one that involves some pretty clear oversight since the remote-controlled device in question is worth upward of $400,000.

Somehow, one of the boxes of parts was delivered to the wrong address.

“I wasn’t expecting a freaking drone,” explained the lucky guy who received a free Puma All Environment Unmanned Aircraft yesterday along with some weight-lifting equipment he ordered from Amazon. He goes by the alias “Seventy_Seven” on Reddit, and there isn’t much known about him besides the fact he’s a college student nowhere near Massachusetts and has no time for aquatic wildlife monitoring equipment since he’s busy getting ripped on his new bench set.

Now the misstep could be a simple error. I’ve gotten wrong packages from companies that have their affairs in order, and I’ve had items vanish into the aether. Still something tells me, as somebody who used to work closely with NOAA this could very well be rank incompetence.

Story #2.

A senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Inspector General testified Wednesday that a career EPA official stored thousands of pornographic files on his government computer, and has admitted to watching porn a lot while at work, sometimes for most of his day.

“When an OIG special agent arrived at this employee’s work space to conduct an interview, the special agent witnessed the employee actively viewing pornography on his government-issued computer,” Allan Williams, deputy assistant inspector general for Investigations told the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee.

“Subsequently, the employee confessed to spending, on average, between two and six hours per day viewing pornography while at work.”

…Chaffetz asked how long the porn viewing has been going on, and Perciasepe said he didn’t know. Chaffetz indicated his understanding was that it has been happening since 2010, and fired at Perciasepe, “How can I know and you don’t?”

Chaffetz then asked why the official hasn’t been fired. “Fire him! What’s the question?”

Perciasepe said he was waiting for the OIG’s final report on the employee. Chaffetz then asked what Perciasepe is doing about the situation now, to which Perciasepe said he was doing nothing.

Now first I’ll note that agency owned property belongs to the agency, not the employee using it. They can have whatever policy they want about it. If the agency doesn’t have a policy against pornographic images, games, ect, I don’t know if I’d have a cow about that. I assume if he has a laptop it’s because he travels with it, if the company allows him to use it however he wants when he’s off the clock there is no problem.

Still we’re talking about the BULK of his work day is looking at porn!!! First up who does this? I wouldn’t dare GLANCE at porn while one the job, at the root just because while I’m working in my office that’s the LAST thing of interest I’d want to do. Further who the hell needs more than 10-20 minuets of porn time to accomplish the task it’s used for?

Weather he was doing “one small load of laundry by hand” or playing World of Warcraft or Solitare, the times admitted to (and that’s what he’ll admit to), he’s NOT doing whatever the job he’s supposed to do. Either his job is so superfluous that his lack of effort isn’t noticed, or his management is so incompetent they aren’t noticing one of their workers isn’t pulling the wagon.

And they’re doing NOTHING about this? Of course not, it’s not like it’s THEIR money! Hey, they can always ask for more! And with the Church of Global Warming running the government right now, NOAA and the EPA are probably getting blank checks at this time.

Disgusting!

Quality Spam Control!

Arizona Rifleman hipped me to this Conditional CAPTCHA plugin.

Once I make this post I’m going to log out as me, and troll my own blog just to see how it looks for you guys, but the config panel generates some fake confirmation screens that are CONSIDERABLY easier to decode IMHO than the standard noisy and distorted text CAPTCHA I was using.

Let me know how it works for you, seems to be working OK as we’re still getting comments. If for some odd reason your comment doesn’t appear it probably got trashed, so try re-submitting, as I likely won’t need to moderate comments that trip Akismet anymore.

Strange comments below are me, and you should be able to figure that out.
