Everytown Car

the antis really need to read this post!

Still: Title and Tag at Each Point of Sale: Tags are not required for vehicles not being used on private lands or private collections. Titles are nice documents confirming ownership, but really unless law enforcement gets involved most people don’t really care.

Training? All good, but mandatory training does nothing if people don’t train further than that, they will simply forget their training. Further people who have trained with a skilled mentor, but not a certified trainer can often have BETTER training than the mandate, but without payment or certificates. Also I can’t even remember what was done at my driver’s ed training because it was 20 years ago…

Health Requirements? What exactly are we talking about? Yeah if you’ve been adjudicated mentally ill you can’t own a gun…tho you can still drive! This is intentionally vague.

Liability Insurance? This is a red herring. In cars it’s insurance for damages or injuries you do while otherwise lawfully operating your vehicle, they sometimes come with civil penalties, but the courts tend to handle criminal infractions. With guns there really is no infraction that isn’t criminal. Further criminals who don’t legally own guns will not have liability insurance, and certainly not on an individual gun basis because of the 5th Amendment. What the antis are going at is forcing lawful gun owners to pay for the crimes of criminals. That’s hardly the same thing.

Renewals and inspections: Well license renewals only cover driving on public roads, this is like carry permits. Still we have a right to keep and bear arms, so that’s a question the antis don’t like to acknowledge. As for inspections, well many states don’t require this, and again you only need to submit cars for inspection that are being publicly driven. Also these inspections are to determine if the car is in good working order, and safe to drive. Guns are vastly less complex than cars and simple user applied maintenance keeps them in working order. Further most guns if poorly maintained are still safe to use, they just might not effective in their functioning. Unless your guns is so severely rusted that it will be compromised by a shot (and I’ve seen some serious rust-buckets that safely fired) disrepair will simply mean your gun won’t function reliably. Apples and Oranges.

And then there’s this one that shows how out-of-touch our opponents are:

Everytown Fudd

So we have what appears to be a simple hunting rifle that for whatever reason is launching an entire unfired cartridge. I don’t even know what they’re getting at. Also “Faster than a Speeding Bullet”? Yeah nobody is, are they complaining about muzzle velocity?

Yeah I don’t get it!

“Gun Death” Office Violence

More stabbings:

Police have identified the man accused of stabbing four employees at a North Toronto office building, saying he was in the process of being fired when he attacked his superiors.

…[he] is facing with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault and four counts of assault with a weapon.
Officers were called to the offices of Ceridian Canada just after 9:30 Wednesday morning after a man attacked four of his co-workers with a knife.

It’s the people, not the tools!

“Gun Death” Mom and Bathtub

When you talk about preferred murder weapons, seems deranged moms seem to prefer bathtubs.

A 6-year-old Pennsylvania boy whose mother allegedly held him underwater in a bathtub died Saturday, four days after his younger brother drowned, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.

…County detectives say the mother told them she tried to drown both boys by sitting on them in the tub after a third son left for school. They say she told investigators she heard “crazy voices” telling her to push the boys underwater.

I prefer showers myself, so I guess we should just ban bathtubs!

FOR THE CHILDREN!!!111!!

Do They Hear Themselves Talking?

Man I almost breezed past this one, but I gave it a watch:

So the Framers created the Second Amendment so that the Federal Government wouldn’t get too powerful…so they would have wanted us to amend it so there was no individual right to the 2nd and all the power was with the Federal Government?

I would love to claim senility out of respect for the man, but he’s always been like this. This is just arrogant ivory-tower stupidity.

“Gun Death” Zombie Movie

A Really Sad One:

Two men were killed Sunday evening in a plane crash while filming a low-budget zombie movie in Central Florida.

…The two were filming the finale to zombie film ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ and according to Monroe County fire officials, there were ‘lots of extras’ nearby at the time.

‘It could’ve been much worse, because if it came down where all those people were it could’ve been very tragic,’ Ms Crandall remarked.

According to the film’s Facebook page, ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ follows the lives of seven people as they fight to survive as zombies takeover Ocala, Florida.

This isn’t just limited to small movies, the very awesome Twilight Zone Movie decapitated actor Vic Morrow in a helicopter crash.

I’d hate to see the antis ban films just as much as I’d hate to seem them ban guns. But to them only “Gun Death” counts!

Images of the Antis: Grassroots

Found this one and really thought it was worth a look:

See this shows how different anti-freedom and pro-freedom think. Really up until the 1990s concealed carry wasn’t a very popular activity. It was always done here in the Northeast and it wasn’t until the 2nd Half of the 20th Century where restrictions started showing up, but for the rest of the country it was much different.

Still anti-gun groups are all top-down organizations. They have a single or a small handful of operators and then a bunch of tiers under them that essentially do their bidding and follow lockstep. Hell even Joan Peterson as a Brady Campaign Director doesn’t actually DO anything to influence what the Brady Campaign does, she’s just a soldier following orders, hence why when her blog even betrays her masters, there isn’t even a flap about it. She’s just “little people” to people like Dan Gross.

Meanwhile the NRA is a true grass-roots groups. They have REAL members who can come and go as they please and vote for how the organization is run. Tam has a great article about finding an old NRA magazine in a shop. Now the antis see the changes this organization has done as RADICAL, and somehow think that the NRA should be how it was from the day it was founded, because that’s how they roll. Sure Handgun Control International is now the Brady Campaign, but they’re still a group looking to ban handguns.

Meanwhile the NRA is an organic group, they change with the times, and the sentiments. There’s a lot of talk about the NRA’s new found support for lessening restrictions on NFA items, when previously they were amenable to EXPANSION of the NFA. This isn’t the group becoming “radical” its just a group that changes with time and maintains relevancy.

Hence why the gun control groups are only becoming less and less relevant. They DON’T have members to report to, they’re totalitarian dictatorships forcing people to march behind them, while groups like the NRA follow behind the simple annual members and help make their voices better heard.

OMG! Summer Fun for BABIES!

Ratus just sent me this!

By now, I am sure you have seen these water blobs circulating on Pinterest and all over your favorite blogs. And – for good reason! Water blobs will keep the kids entertained for hours.

The only problems that seem pretty universal with the duct tape method is that they take a long time to prep – and they leak within minutes!

This tutorial is a little different. I used about 6-inches of duct tape on the entire thing! It has been sitting in our yard for 3 days now – with NO leaks, at all. And – it only took about 20 minutes to get ready!

Oh YEAHHH! Once it gets warm my baby is gonna be flopping around on one of these! This looks like a TON of fun! Also I might see if I can make one of those water snakes you see in novelty stores!

Just you wait, little girl! You don’t know the HALF of all the fun we’ll be having!

Yeah, Banjos, not only for making kickass bluegrass music. Also FOR MURDER!

Funny how the “Gun Death” Crowd seems fixated in banning guns, but not other things…

Images of the Antis: “Gun Death”

From Bloomberg’s new Anti-Gun Group Everytown:

Note Murdered WITH A GUN! This is a little trick done by gun-banners to mislead. It is not saying that Americans are more likely to be murdered than citizens of other countries, just more likely to be murdered WITH A GUN! We all have seen the “Gun Death?” Files here at Weer’d World and we know that if you aren’t murdered with a gun, that doesn’t mean you aren’t murdered.

Heck I just found this great article that looks at homicide rates (just “Murder” is often counted wildly different in other nations, Homicide is a better metric, but note it too has its flaws) in other nations.

Turns out that while America DOES have a violent crime problem, we’re hardly the most dangerous nation in the world, even if you factor in that mushy definition of “Developed Nations”. We do indeed have a lot of “Gun Death” here in America, and more than most other nations (but still hardly the highest) but we don’t have the most people who were violently killed.

Does it make much of a difference to you HOW somebody was killed, or is it important to you just to have less killing overall? Bloomberg doesn’t care, as he noted while Mayor “Gun Death” had dropped, and trumpeted this as a success. It would have been too, if A) Murder rates had fallen, they hadn’t, and B) The numbers were real (NYPD had padded numbers to change the bottom line). BTW I can’t seem to find that article as it was a few years old, if anybody has a link to that article post it in the comments so I can add it here.

The goal here is to make gun control APPEAR to increase public safety. It is NOT to improve public safety, because that is NOT what gun control does.

Oh and in amusing news I found this twitter feed that has already hijacked Bloomberg’s silly new group. If you tweet, give them a follow! Lots of people are working hard to make sure this new movement doesn’t get off the ground! $50 Million well spent, Bloomy!
