Does This Seem Right To you?

Have a read of this story:

The former public works inspector for a northern New Jersey town has admitted stealing $460,000 in quarters.

The Record reports Thomas Rica pleaded guilty Wednesday to four counts of theft. In return, prosecutors will recommend that he receive five years’ probation and pay about $200,000 in restitution to Ridgewood.

I did a little Google-fu and found somebody willing to do some of the math for me. So $20 in quarters is about one pound. $460,000 is 23,000 pounds! That’s 11.5 TONS of quarters! That’s a LOT of work there!

And he’s on probation AND has to only pay back $200,000? So he got over half that money free? Bad Justice!

Possibly One of the Worst Zero Tollerence Stories Yet

Who are the criminals here?

An Ohio high school student has already been jailed and kicked out of school for having a pocket knife in his car, and now he fears he could lose his dream of serving in the Army.

Jordan Wiser, a student at Ashtabula County Technical School in Jefferson, is finishing up his senior year from home after school officials searched his car in December and found the folding knife and an Airsoft gun. School officials called police, who charged him with illegal conveyance of a weapon onto a school ground based on the three-inch knife.

“I declined to allow them to search myself or my car and that I wanted to talk to my lawyer or my father,” Wiser told FoxNews.com. “They told me it wasn’t an option.”

Wiser, an EMT trainee who hopes to become both a police officer and a soldier, spent 13 days in the Ashtabula County Jail following the incident. The knife, which Wiser said is part of his first responder’s kit and can be used for slicing an accident victim’s seatbelt, was found tucked inside his EMT medical vest in the trunk of the car. The Airsoft gun, which fires non-lethal pellets, was not illegal and was used by Wiser in a shooting club he belongs to, he said.

School officials told FoxNews.com that possession of the pocket knife was a violation of the school’s zero tolerance policy for bringing weapons on campus and that based on a message he posted on an online forum, they had probable cause to search Wiser and his car. They also insisted Wiser consented to the search.

Umm first up, the school does not EVER have “Probable Cause” to search a student’s car. There are multiple court cases where a private vehicle is considered private property. I understand that schools do search student’s property in lockers when tipped for disciplinary reasons. I personally don’t like it, but there does come a grey area where the items are stored in school-owned lockers. Still a CAR is vastly different. Further a pocket knife and a damn airsoft gun? Is this even a crime because he’s been expelled AND Jailed for it.

When will we hand the keys to this country back to the grown-ups?

“Gun Death” Felt Like Killing

Some say we need to ban guns because it makes killing too easy.

A 27-year-old Arizona man accused of fatally stabbing his 12-year-old half-brother reportedly told police he “felt like killing.”

Of course I will note that EVERYBODY has knives capable of murdering another person. The vast majority of us aren’t so crazy to DO this horrible act, especially for such a wanton reason.

It’s the person, not the tool!

More “Massive Support” For Gun Control

Via Joan a picture of her lobbying bad laws that decrease public safety.

Joan Grey Hair

Man that is a LOT of grey hair! Are there ANY young people who want “Common Sense” gun reform? Aren’t there any young people willing to give weepy stories about how people broke dozens of laws so we need ONE MORE law to prevent it?

Generally when our side goes out its whole families and the crowds range from the proverbial “Eight to Eighty”.

This is what a losing side looks like, and boy they’re looking desperate!

“Gun Death” Heroin

This is super classy:

An Indiana couple has been jailed in Ohio on child endangering charges because police say they overdosed on heroin in a McDonald’s play area.

Hamilton County court records show that the fire department in Green Township, just west of Cincinnati, responded to a call Sunday of two adults needing attention in the restaurant’s children’s play area. Authorities say one was unconscious and not breathing, and the other was conscious but unresponsive.

They recovered from what police say were “life-threatening overdoses” of heroin. Authorities say the couple acknowledged taking the drugs while with their children, a 5-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.

So these nominees for Parent of the Year took their kids to play in the dumpy playground at McD’s while they got so juiced up on horse that they needed to be resuscitated.

Hey, at least they weren’t lawful citizens legally carrying guns, right? I mean CHILDREN WERE PLAYING THERE!…or something.

A Cloud With a Silver Lining Inside a Golden Idol!

Joe and Ry talk about how they are holding off on talking about Senator Yee because he is innocent until proven guilty.

100% true, Senator Yee is indeed innocent until proven guilty of his very serious charges. Still I speculate on trials all the time, and I think the case seems VERY strong.

Still Ry notes that the FBI and the ATF are well-known for rail-roading stings where they take a person generally incapable of a serious crime and coax and supply them into a crime so they can arrest them.

This is a cloud inside the great golden idol of Anti-Gun Senator Yee smuggling heavy military weapons and selling them to criminals, still this cloud has a silver lining. Yee is a well-respected politician who was running for Attorney General oops, I mean secretary of state, and had a lot of resources and friends in high places. Further the US DOJ is in the hands of the “Progressive” Democrats, and seeing a fellow “Progressive” railroaded is a BIG deal.

So if Senator Yee is NOT guilty and this whole thing is yet another cooked-up sting of creative writing and enabling from law enforcement the effects will be HUGE!

This will CRIPPLE Federal Law Enforcement.

So there you have it, either an anti-gun Senator was selling weapons to criminals OR the bloated jack-booted Federal officers are about to have their wings clipped.

Win Win!

Microstamping: It’s Crap!

Great video from the NRA:

Not only are they easily removable from the gun parts, and will likely get removed just from routine wear-and-tear and cleaning, but they make a great point about the actual mechanics of a gun. If your firing pin has just a LITTLE bit of a wobble the information won’t be legible. Further guns like my Kahr PM45 leaves wipe marks on the primer under normal function because the firing pin doesn’t retract until the slide resets the action so as the case ejects it rubs against the pin, and would obliterate any markings.

It’s crap technology designed simply to ban guns. I think we’ve seen enough to show that the antis don’t care a wit about public safety.

The Antis and Their Perpetual Misunderstanding of Stand Your Ground

Wow let’s talk Stand your ground for just a second after looking at this.

Audio File here. LISTEN TO IT, it’s quick.

Here’s the transcript, but it doesn’t do it justice:

his organization founded by Gabrielle Giffords, you remember her, the former Arizona congresswoman that Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck suggested should be murdered, the one who was critically wounded in a mass shooting in 2011, she calls it ‘the most extreme gun bill in America.’ The NRA, which they’re behind this of course, they want guns everywhere. Jesus Christ! I would like to invite one of the NRA board members, and I’ll be armed, let’s just get this over with, OK? Come on down to Georgia and I’ll be packing heat and you be packing heat or whether you want to or not, I don’t give a damn, it’s up to you. And you come, meet me someplace, and all of a sudden, see, we have stand your ground here, and all of a sudden I’m going to feel real goddamned threatened by you! And I will shoot you! If I feel threatened. The law says I can! Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha!

Listen to his voice! UNHINGED and filled with hate. Not to mention completely fact free.

Still It further shows that the anti’s crusade against self defense shows that they’re crusading against the demons in their sick minds rather than reality.

This one minute clip has done a LOT of damage to this man’s future if he ever chooses to carry a weapon (and don’t think because he’s a “Progressive” and anti-gun that he won’t) and needs to use it.

What he is doing here is making a case for a future First-Degree Murder case against him. He is saying in a safe radio studio about a hypothetical situation that “He will feel threatened” and use it to shoot somebody he doesn’t agree with politically.

Now in the event he ever needs to defend himself, this clip will be admitted as evidence and it will make a defense trial VERY difficult.

Further, in another hypothetical, let’s say Mr. Malloy engages in a heated discussion in a public place with somebody who is pro-freedom, and Mr. Malloy makes some furtive gesture like reaching in his pocket or tucks in his shirt tails, he potentially COULD get shot, as this clip implies that A) he owns and carries a gun, B) He’s willing to murder people over a disagreement of opinion, and C) Potentially is mentally ill.

Now it would hardly be either an open-and-shut case, or “The Perfect Crime” (not that political murders are ever perpetrated by political conservatives) , but it WOULD be a case.

Now this doesn’t just happen to the left, and this is NOT a partisan post. I’ve occasionally heard gun owners express some foolish bravado about hoping to use the gun, or wanting to see what XYZ Brand hollow-point does to a person. Also I will point out that all of the above cases are all foolish bravado, and I suspect Mr. Malloy is not nearly as brave when he’s standing on his own in public, nor am a particularly impresses with gun owners who brag about how tough they are.

I know REAL tough guys, and they NEVER brag. They Never Brag because they neither need too, nor do they WANT to. REAL tough guys HATE when they have to be tough.

Still these foolish statements put you in a lot of legal jeopardy, and that goes double for people who do it in a public place or over a mass media.

And all this coming from a dude who’s opposed to Stand Your Ground…because they only are concerned about the reality they create.

OK REALLY Cool!

Looks like there may be yet-another NCIS Spinoff. This time the location is New Orleans, and the star is Scott Bakula.

For the character he got a very distinctive Croc-skinned paddle holster. Who made it? Dragon Letherworks!

Damn, I’m thinking I’m going to need to ask him about some holster designs I want before he becomes too cool to deal with a loser like me!

Linoge has screenshots from the Pilot!

Dragon Leatherworks! I knew him when he was a nobody, and he hasn’t changed a bit! 🙂
