Crap!

You gotta love the blissful ignorance of the Antis:

First up you have his silly hunting story. This shows he has NO knowledge of how this system works. If a hunter shoots a bird or a deer the microstamp will be on the spent shell which is easily recovered. The bullet in the animal can be recovered, but will be indistinguishable from any other bullets as far as microstamping is done.

Also I love the “Police Support this”….so why are they exempted from the law? We talked about this before, if this law made us safer, then Police would be for this in their sidearms and patrol rifles and shotguns. It would make it easy for them to prove when they were fired upon, and who fired which shots.

Police are NOT for this law, they are AGAINST this law, hence why they WANT that exemption!

Further this law does NOTHING, as the microstamping doesn’t work. Even in a perfect scenario the technology frequently produces illegible or ambiguous marks, and further the technology can be quickly removed with household tools and zero skill, while still allowing the weapon to be used for crime. (PDF).

Yes, S&W and Ruger WANT to be in the California market, hence why they produce so many guns that comply with those regulations. I’ll also note that Ruger and S&W as well as several other companies work very hard to make their guns legal in Massachusetts.

Still complying with this stupidity is opening a door they don’t want to pass through. They have drawn a line in the sand. Yes it will cost them MILLIONS, but it will cost them Millions to save them BILLIONS in the future.

“Gun Death” Dumpster Napping

Never a good idea:

Father who slept in a skip after drink and drug-fuelled night out was crushed to death in rubbish lorry and his body found on conveyor belt by horrified workers

So what do we regulate, Alcohol? Drunks? or Garbage disposal?

Not a “Gun Death”!

Images of the “Progressives”: “Living Wage”

This is a pretty heavy load:

Of course the unsaid part is if the worker has no skills and only puts forward unmotivated work. Also “living Wage” is a loaded term. Back when I was working for minimum wage I was an unskilled teen with a non-existent resume, and I was still living rent-free with my parents. As I got older I still had friends working at or near minimum wage. They were working low-skilled jobs, and often working the bare minimum required of them. They lived in crappy apartments with multiple roommates. They drove shitbox cars and ate a LOT of ramen noodles and delivery pizza.

They were paid a “living wage” for the lifestyle they made do with. Still if they wanted more (and many of them did) they needed to elevate themselves, and many of them did.

Its really not hard to get promoted if you work at minimum wage. Work hard, build up your skills, and get promoted, or find a better job!

Good Read

Ratus sent me this story a while back. I just got around to reading it.

Its the official confession of the author of the Taking Sense Away Blog. He’s a former TSA agent disenfranchised by the ineffective and criminal acts of the TSA. He’s working on a novel, I also need to get around to reading that!

Enjoy!

Film Review: Mitt

So while my daughter was napping I watched this film.

From a statement of the arts it was an amazing film. Very nice candid documentation of the behind the scenes of the 2008 and 2012 Presidential race through the eyes of the Willard “Mitt” Romney camp.

Also the film would have held my interest a LOT better if I wasn’t SUCH a political junkie that so much of the film was essentially watching re-runs for me with some side commentary that was new.

Now from a personal standpoint I hated this film. You see unlike much of America I lived under Mitt Romney as the Governor of Massachusetts. Further I live under his “Progressive” successor Deval Patrick. Deval coined the term “Together We Can”, and is close personal friends with Barack Obama, as well as a virtually indistinguishable political stance.

Essentially shave 6″ off Barack Obama and you have Deval Patrick. And guess who’s been better to live under? Patrick, because while he’s vastly more liberal than Romney, he’s politically ineffective, so while he might WANT to do more harm to me, Romney actually accomplished that.

Further, the documentary shows Mitt to be a Warm and loving guy. Still as much as I dislike President Obama, he appears to be the same way. This goes for ALL national political candidates. If you come off as cantankerous and prickly you don’t make it far in politics.

Essentially this movie is pushing a “Cult of Personality” on Romney, and I find that unsettling. He’s a HORRIBLE politician, and horrible for America, and I don’t like people softening that, so overall I found the film disturbing on a personal level.

Still worth a watch if you’re into this sort of thing, its a really well made movie.

“Gun Death” Horrible

Man, where do these monsters come from?

Plano police said the 2-year-old girl who died last week was a victim of homicidal violence…A donation website set up by friends and family members said the toddler’s face was duct taped, causing her to suffocate.

They call that age the “Terrible Twos” but is it THAT bad? Given that we’re all alive, it sure isn’t. The person who did this is a monster, and monsters are not bound by tools for their horrible deeds.

The “Gun Death” crowd will say that this would have been tragic if a gun had been used, but since one wasn’t it isn’t worth mention….

Stupid Games, Stupid Prizes

Wow!

A man was arrested in the food court of a New Jersey shopping center Friday for having an imitation handgun, police said….According to authorities, Rivera said he was carrying the weapon because he was afraid of other individuals who might also be at the shopping center. He was charged with possession of an imitation firearm for an unlawful purpose.

And what would he do if he was confronted by those people who he was afraid of?

Guns are NOT magical talismans, and all the talk about people running in fear of the sight of a gun, or the sound of a shotgun being put into battery, but all of that is individual dependent.

A gun is no magic talisman, and this guy is going to jail for thinking just that!

Looks like Junk to Me

Overall looks like standard JHP performance. Certainly your family members aren’t any safer in adjacent rooms than if you used any quality JHP.

With the Bare ballistics gel you have the petals flaking off and the core continuing on. Since this round is light to begin with losing that extra mass does NOT inspire confidence.

Just as I suspected it looks like crap, stick with the stuff that’s been around for decades!

**UPDATE**
