Play Me Out: THE Kristofferson

LOVE this song!

I was looking through youtube for a live performance that is as good as this Studio recording, and frankly most of them are terrible, either because Kris’ heart wasn’t in the performance, or maybe his issues with substance abuse. Still its hard to argue that he’s one of the greatest songwriters in American history.

And here’s another on of his gems!

“Gun Death” Crossbow

What’s interesting is that before gun powder came to the West, the Crossbow was the so-called “Assault Weapon” of its time. They were able to fire a bolt more accurately and much more powerfully than the earlier hand-drawn bow, and this power meant they were quite dangerous to armored knights who before could decimate entire villages of unarmored peasants. Just like the modern firearm’s threat to the government monopoly of force, the crossbow was often outlawed for civilian possession.

Today, because of the opponents for freedom’s fixation on “Gun Death” are largely overlooked.

A South Florida man used a crossbow to kill his wife and teenage son in their townhouse, tried to kill a second son who is a student at Florida State University and wound up dead in a motel bathroom, authorities said Wednesday.

This has a lot of angles for the “Gun Death” crowd to ignore. First they’ve been harping that we need full civilian disarmament because guns cause or exacerbate domestic violence. Of course they fixate on “Gun Death” which this also wasn’t. Further look at all the deadly implements in this story. He killed two people with the bow, then when he missed the 3rd person he attempted to strangle him. Lastly he finished himself off with a knife.

Just because they fixate on “Gun Death” don’t think these people will walk away happy with a total fantasy ban on guns. Just like the UK they will ban sporting equipment and knives as well. We need to fight them, and fight them hard, because they promise us a safe world that has never, and will never exist. What they are building is actually a prison!

Images of the Antis: Rights

This really shows how out-of-touch the anti-freedom movement is in America:

Of course the image is propaganda so we see that the letters NRA are blood-stained, but other than that the image is straight forward.

First up, both are a right. The right to keep and bear arms is a right outlined in our 2nd Amendment, the right to medical attention is outlined in the Declaration of Independence under the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

But notice the biggest difference in those two panels. One has a single individual with an item he has acquired with his own funds. That is without dispute, as 2nd Amendment activists are NOT demanding that we make the government of the United States pay for our guns, ammo, and accessories.

The other has TWO people, one the person receiving care, and a worker rendering that care. But in the debates for health care in this nation, nobody is saying we can’t pay for health services, instead the issue is that the recipient HAS to pay at all.

So who buys the stretcher, the IV, and who compensates the doctor or nurses for their time? For them it must be all of us, whether we want to or not, further they believe the government should set a value on that care, no matter how the worker values their time.

In one panel we have a person enjoying their own freedom, in the other we have slavery.

This is considered “Progress”.

“Gun Death” Horrible

This one comes with apologies from Whipped Cream Difficulties.

A toddler died and her mother was injured Tuesday night when a tree branch broke and fell on them as the woman pushed her daughter in a stroller in Tomball.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. outside a business at Crescent and Quinn, said Capt. Rick Grassi, spokesman for the Tomball Police Department.

Grassi said the woman was pushing her 18-month-old baby in a stroller to an event at the business when a 20-foot-long branch gave way and fell on them. Both were severely injured.

God, I’ve covered a ton of “Gun Deaths” of young children, and this is probably the one that hits me the hardest. In the past they’ve involved monstrous human beings so broken that the part of them that could never hurt a baby just doesn’t work, or massive acts of god like floods or storms, or at least instances where some well-meaning person does something stupid or negligent.

We had a massive branch fall down near us this summer, but even that was in a heavy downpour, and it was a weak branch, now covered with what was likely several hundred pounds of raindrops, and all it took was one squirrel walking out to the end to supply enough leverage to bring what amounted to half a tree down into the road.

Thankfully nobody was hurt. In this case it couldn’t have been very bad weather, otherwise they wouldn’t have been out. I’ve spend enough time in the woods to have seen more than a few big branches, and at least one large tree topple for what appears from a distance to be no reason at all. Its kind of interesting when you’re just out in the quiet of nature. It becomes horrible when I think that I or my baby might be under it.

The post was sent with apologies, but frankly it was interesting to write about for the “Gun Death?” Files.

Woman of Ill Repute

So I saw this story earlier this week, and didn’t see much of a need to talk about it. This latest bit of details tho, makes it more of a story:

A New Jersey waitress who received thousands of dollars in gratuities after claiming she received a homophobic note in lieu of a tip has been let go by the restaurant at which she worked.

Dayna Morales, a 22-year-old former Marine, claimed last month that a family of four who racked up a $93.55 bill at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Branchburg, N.J., left her no tip, only a note saying they couldn’t leave any extra cash for her service because they “do not agree with your lifestyle.”

Morales quickly emailed the story to a gay advocacy website and later posted a photograph of the purported check on her Facebook page. The alleged incident made national headlines and resulted in thousands of dollars being donated to Morales, who said she would send all proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project.

So a phenotypical lesbian serves a family, and allegedly gets no tip, and a hand-written note that it wasn’t for her skills as a server, but because they don’t agree with the homosexual lifestyle.

The story goes viral, and money collection services are set up, and donations roll in. Only the family figures out it was them, and they supply the media with their copy of the receipt, and their credit card bill.

Now at this point its a he-said-she-said story, and it very well could be THIS family of four might be a different one. Too many things line up, but I didn’t feel the need to talk about it. Only more lines up:

The restaurant announced on its Facebook page Saturday that it had conducted its own internal investigation, and although it was “inconclusive,” the eatery said it had come to a mutual agreement with Morales that she no longer work there.

This of course is a code word for “We have enough dirt to fire you, but we’d rather not go through the paperwork, and you’d rather collect unemployment, so sign here…”, it continues:

The decision comes after NBCNewYork.com reported Friday that three people who sent money to a PayPal account set up in her name say their donations were refunded.

At least one man who sent cash to Morales at the restaurant told NBCNewYork.com he has not gotten the money back. Morales did not respond to requests for comment from the station.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Florida-based Wounded Warrior Project could not confirm Morales had made any donations as of Wednesday, Bridgewater Patch reported.

A representative for the nonprofit group that caters to veterans returning from overseas checked for donations by Morales’ name and within the ZIP codes for Bridgewater, N.J., where she worked, and Bedminster, where Morales said she lives, and was unable to locate any correlating donations. The donations may have been made from a different ZIP code or by a third-party, the representative told the website.

MAYBE she donated the money, maybe she stuffed it in her pocket. Maybe the person talking to NBC is lying about getting his money back or the check is in the mail.

It goes on!

NBC News has also reported that a Pentagon source said Morales was dismissed from the Marine Reserve Corps in May because she was not attending drills and that she was discharged under “less than honorable” conditions.

Man, that’s a LOT of strikes to have in her court, it really looks like she’s a horrible liar who has essentially defrauded a bunch of people.

Classy!

Not A Great Video, But Wait For the End

Its a bit slanted in its methods. Most college students are under 26 which is the new “Progressive” definition of “Child”. (BTW is that progress? Can we soon expect “Progressives” demand that children are anybody under the age of 40?), further if they’re in college, there’s a better chance of them being on a family plan by their parents than say a 21 year old high school graduate with no college education or plans.

Still the exit question about the average cost of the “Affordable” plan, and how much they THOUGHT it would be costing them is worth watching.

These are the Low Information Voters who take the Kool-Aid at Face Value.

“Gun Death” Paul Walker

Its sad that he died this way….

While heartbroken fans of Fast and Furious poster boy Paul Walker grieve over the actor’s gruesome death in a fatal Saturday car crash, high-performance automobile aficionados and industry experts have turned their attention to the car involved in the accident: A 2005 red Porsche Carrera GT.

he sleek Carrera GT’s appeal is obvious: It can reach a 60-mph sprint in a mere 3.8 seconds, and 100 mph in 6.9 seconds. But the car’s rear-mid engine design (meaning that the gas tank is located just in front of the passenger’s compartment—Walker was riding shotgun at the time of the accident) puts the car at an increased risk for a fatal crash and fire. ”The dangerous part is that it requires immense skill to drive, and is tremendously unforgiving,” says Doug DeMuro, a former manager at Porsche North America. He adds: “It’s hard to understand the car’s limits because it’s unlike virtually any other car on the road, and it’ll respond in ways other cars won’t.”

The Carrera GT is an insane super car, meaning that it has so much power that its easy to get overwhelmed and lose control. Still such an expensive and limited production car, such accidents are amazingly rare.

Still people want to blame the car, rather than the driver who went beyond where he should have gone.

Not a “Gun Death” at all!

Gun Control “Sucess Story”

Joan is Waxing Poetic about Nelson Mandela, and she has to praise South Africa for their horrible gun laws:

As in America, South Africa struggles still with violence and crime. But they passed laws and have taken measures that have made a difference. They understood that taking measures to prevent violence, after their violent history, just makes common sense.

She cites this article. Formatting means I can’t quote it, so read it, its short. They talk about strict enforcement of crazy gun laws, and leading to a “Decrease in Gun Death”…tho they do admit that “Gun Death” is going up.

Of course we all know that South Africa is NOT the “3rd World” as they are often cited by “Gun Death” fanatics, but it has some of the highest VIOLENT CRIME rate (not just “Gun Death”) in modern society.

This is considered a “Success”! They want this “Success” here too! I don’t. Joan, it will be easier for you to Emigrate to South Africa than change America into that nation. Maybe you should just go there!

I only want you to be happy!
