“Gun Death” Killer Wasps

I HATE Wasps. Bees are overall friendly. Don’t hurt them, they won’t hurt you, and they’re overall good for things.

Wasps sting without provocation and are generally just pests.

They’re more than pests in China!

Rampant attacks by giant hornets in northwest China have killed 42 people and have injured more than 1,600 others, according to state officials.
The flying insects, believed by biologists to be Asian giant hornets, are able to get as big as two inches in length with stingers as long as 1/5 of an inch.

Gahhhh! But hey, only “Gun Death” counts, right?

The Cheese is Off the Cracker

This really sounds totally non-partisan, and irrelevant to the current government shutdown and the surrounding politics.

I’m overall amused, but sad for this woman who is obviously having some serious health issues.

Interesting Yeti Information

Now this is just cool!

A British geneticist says DNA analysis suggests the Yeti, the elusive ape-like creature of the Himalayas, may be the descendant of a polar bear that roamed the peaks tens of thousands of years ago….Sykes says the evidence suggests the mysterious creature may be a hitherto undiscovered cross between polar bears and brown bears.

Tom Gilbert, professor of paleogenomics at the Natural History Museum of Denmark, says Sykes’ conclusion is a “reasonable explanation” for Yeti sightings.

Makes prefect sense, and as cool as a massive ape-like creature roaming the snow fields of the Himalayas is, a species of polar bear makes more sense.

Survived the First Night

Well the first night home with little LaWeer’da.
LaWeerda And Daddy1

That was taken by Mommy at 1am, and little Miss was just down to party. We took shift between Mommy who has biological exclusive rights on feeding, Grand Ma who is staying with us, and me assisting feeding, and sitting up with the little Miss who was NOT tired at all and didn’t want to be left alone.

The shift work worked very well, as we all got a little sleep and are doing OK.

Here’s WHY she was all about being awake:
Small Baby

Fresh home from the hospital and FAST Asleep. Not very big at all! For the crib we got, I think we should have gotten a bigger baby! Of course she’ll fill it out in time.

Ok time to make some rounds, and then maybe a nap!

“Gun Death” Life Imitates Lebowski

That was all I could think of when I read this story:

This knife-wielding desperado should have come to her senses.

South Carolina woman Vernett Bader faces domestic violence charges after, cops say, she stabbed her roommate with a 14-inch serrated bread knife because he refused to stop playing the Eagles.

Bader, 54, was at her North Charleston home late Monday while her 64-year-old roommate and his brother watched TV and listened to a loop of classic rock tunes by the “Hotel California” Grammy winners.

And add in a bonus for those idiots who say “Stand Your Ground” is “License to Murder”

Police said she admitted to stabbing her roommate multiple times, but said she did so in self-defense because he was choking her.

Police responding to the scene said they didn’t find any marks on her neck consistent with attempted strangulation.

If she HAD been attacked and used the knife in self-defense she would have gotten off scott-free. But you lie, you face the charges!

And for those who don’t get the title:

I too hate the Eagles!

“Gun Death” New York

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. In the land of the disarmed, a hobo with a pair of scissors is a VERY dangerous thing.

NEW YORK – A homeless man armed with scissors attacked and wounded five people, including a one-year-old boy, in a New York City park busy with morning joggers and commuters, police said on Tuesday.

The victims, all of whom are expected to recover, were targeted at random, police said. A 36-year-old woman who was stabbed in the back is a “little more touch and go” than the others and was listed in critical condition, a New York Police Department spokesman said.

The attacks occurred around 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT) in Manhattan’s Riverside Park, which stretches for 4 miles (6.4 km) along the Hudson River.

A 32-year-old woman was slashed in the neck, a 35-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach and a 35-year-old father pushing his 18-month-old son in a stroller was slashed in the chest. The child also had a slash wound to his left arm, authorities said.

A witness helped subdue the suspect until police arrived. The victims, whose names have not been released, were being treated at a local hospital.

Now think of this story with the “Gun Death” rhetoric. SCISSORS, are common tools that every school hands out to their children, every teacher has a nice sharp pair or two at their desk, and these are given to damn near every warm body in an office of any kind.

Yet here in New York we have a violent, scary, and potentially deadly rampage by a crazed homeless man. Can you think of how this might look if just ONE of these bloodied victims had a gun?

Can you say the results would have been WORSE?

“Gun Death” “Loving” Grandmother

Horrible!

A grandmother has been found guilty of both murder and manslaughter after hearing the evidence. A judge decided Tuesday that Sha’hiim Nelligan died after being beaten repeatedly by Gloria Nelligan….Nelligan wanted Sha’hiim to answer for stealing a pack of gum in February. That’s when prosecutors said the boy was told to write essays explaining his fault, which weren’t good enough for the grandmother. Then, they argued in court that she beat the boy for hours, ignoring cries for help, watching his body shut down. The defense claimed Sha’hiim would act out, fall, and hurt himself.

Over a pack of gum! And we need to ban guns??? Yeah because the tools used have a lick of relevance!

Those Pictures

Just some simple pictures taken on my phone of the new little lady in the family:

LaWeerdaBrand New

LaWeerda Sprawl

LaWeerdaNap

She’s an amazingly easy-going baby. We’ll see how that changes as time goes by. Also just a little string-bean at 6lbs 5oz and measuring 20 inches.

I’m just picking up some supplies at the house and heading back into the hospital for some lousy sleep.

I’ll probably start posting more once she gets home, likely on Wednesday.
