For the H und K Fans

God I have no desire to shoot or own one of these.

As far as I’m concerned its a Hi-Point with a double-stack magazine, a worse mag release and a zero added to the price tag.

Thanks, but no-thanks!

Starbucks “Gives a Mouse a Cookie”

So Starbucks kinda bowed to the anti-gun people wringing their hands about lawful carry.

Now they’re going to have to deal with Vegans.

Brent Caldwell, “a huge fan of Starbucks” in Ferndale, Mich., is using a Change.org petition to ask the ubiquitous Seattle coffee company to offer a dairy-free version of its popular Pumpkin Spice Latte.

“My girlfriend and I will visit our favorite location up to four times a week. We are also both vegan,” Caldwell wrote in his petition. “Normally, this is not a tremendous issue at Starbucks because so many drinks can be made with vegan and dairy-free ingredients, which generally just means using soy milk instead of cow’s milk.

“Sadly, in the case of the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte, this does not hold true,” he said. “There is currently no vegan option for this drink mix, which is a total bummer.”

I have no idea how difficult or easy it would be to accommodate Vegans. I also have no problem with people with a vegan diet (tho the vast majority of vegan PEOPLE I have met have a similar level of preachy misery that anti-gun people have), and I see nothing wrong with giving them options or whole menu selections.

Still The fact that this isn’t one of the vegan Starbucks items, it makes me wonder if the vegan options would simply be unpalatable.

I look forward to seeing Starbucks abandon all personal corporate interests, and work to make their stores in the images of all who protest loud enough.

“Gun Death” Mass Stabbing

This isn’t in the news. Why? No “Gun Death”!

ampa Bay area authorities say a man who had been arrested last month on a domestic battery charge fatally stabbed his girlfriend, her 9-month-old son and himself…Deputies were called to check the home Thursday evening in a gated community and found the bodies.

Double-murder suicide, with one victim a baby. The anti-rights freaks have frothed over less. Still this case no gun, so they don’t care a wit!

Also perp had a track record.

Etayem was charged with one count of domestic battery in August. He was released from the Hernando County Detention Center the next day after posting bail.

Doesn’t give enough info for a “Bad Justice” tag. It does give me a reason to repeat what I often say, and what “Domestic Violence Advocates” like Joan Peterson ignore.

If you are being physically abused it is only a matter of time before your abuser eventually murders you. Joan advises there be no guns in the house, and that’s good enough. Hey Joan, tell this to the family of the dead woman!

Image of the Day: “Reasonable”

This is amusing:
Joan Bullet Timer

I’m always amused by people ignorant about guns asking about cyclical rates, because they’re pointless. Some gun clubs have rules against “Rapid Fire” were they demand arbitrary times between shots, like one-second. My club has it right and says “Shoot only as fast as you can keep rounds on target”. This is simple, if somebody is shooting too fast and isn’t marking their paper, they can be cited.

Or another example is the Jerry Miculek Record. Its not how fast he was able to empty that revolver, it was the fact that he emptied that revolver THAT fast in a crazy tight group on target.

Yeah there’s a limit to how fast a semi-auto gun will cycle, or how long it takes a revolver’s trigger to reset, but its all irrelevant. But I’m sure Joan is fishing for some bizzaro post about how guns need to be banned.

Still the best thing is her tag-along’s response: “One is too many”

Yep, they support our rights to own guns!

Drink Like Breda: Cornball

So last night on the Squirrel Report Breda mentioned a drink she invented.

Its a little bit of a misnomer, its a variation of the Whiskey and Ginger which is a fairly common Highball, but Breda Substituted Moonshine (AKA Corn Whiskey) for more traditional whiskies.

CornBall

I can’t leave well enough alone, so along with 3 oz of Moonshine, I added a splash of Sweet Vermouth, and a dash of Angostura Bitters. I think I’ll omit the vermouth next round and mix up the strength of the shine because there wasn’t a ton of moonshine taste with 12 oz of Ginger Ale. The Bitters was a wise move, it also improved the color.

Enjoy!

“Gun Death” Homeless Man

This is one of the more crazy “Gun death” Stories.

A man was stabbed to death over flicking a light switch in a Harlem homeless shelter, police sources said Thursday…. “(Flicking the lights on and off) initiated a verbal dispute that escalated,” a police source said.

Rodriguez allegedly knifed Velez at about 11:20 p.m. Paramedics rushed the mortally wounded 50-year-old to Harlem Hospital Center, where he died eight hours later, police said.

Brings new meaning to the phrase “I’ve killed men for more”. But not a “Gun Death” and in New York where they PRIDE themselves in their (alleged) lack of “Gun Death”. So safe!
