“Gun Death” Self Promotion

In this day of reality TV people are DESPERATE to get their 15 mins:

A young filmmaker is believed to have frozen to death while making a documentary about sleeping rough on the streets as he tried to impress television bosses.

Lee Halpin planned to spend this week on the streets of Newcastle experiencing and filming what life is like for those who are living rough.

In a video explaining his project, he claimed he was applying for a position on a Channel 4 investigative journalism programme.

He said that as he had to show the channel he could be ‘fearless’ – a key ‘value’ of the broadcaster – he planned to spend a week ‘immersed’ in the world of homelessness, and wanted to ‘sleep rough and scrounge for food.’

But three days after embarking on the project talented Lee, who lived with his family in Heaton, Newcastle, was found dead in a boarded-up hostel on Westgate Road, Newcastle.

It is not yet known how he died, but it’s feared the 27-year-old may have succumbed to hypothermia.

I’m sure the executives were impressed, and if there is any video to be had on his corpse or cloud-based storage, I’m sure his estate will make some money in producing a documentary on his final days.

I don’t think this is what he hoped for. Still, no gun!

Home Again

Took an extended weekend in Newport Rhode Island this weekend with Mrs. Weer’d. The weather was crap, but the vacation was great. Saw lots of opulent mansions which were ironically being preserved by people who seem to think that mansions like that were signs of evil extravagance.

Lots of food and drink, and a really nice B&B. I honestly didn’t think I’d have as much fun as I did.

Regular blog posting will resume!

Also please remember why today is a holiday. We honor those who have taken up arms to protect us and have now past. I can never give enough thanks.

“Gun Death” Boston

Boston, home of some of the most strong gun control in the country, and ruled by MAIG’s second in command, Tom Menino. Works great!

A 17-year-old Boston woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend who was pushing a baby stroller along a city street has been ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Sigh….

“Gun Death” Wal Mart Attack

Insane!

A man in a large red sedan hit two cars in the parking lot of a San Jose Walmart before ramming the car through the front of the store then assaulting customers inside, officials said. The attack injured four people, one of them seriously.

The man crashed the Oldsmobile Cutlass through the storefront near the pharmacy Sunday and collided with a beer display before stopping, police and witnesses said.

The unidentified driver then got out of his car and used a blunt object to attack people, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said. The driver was arrested when officers arrived.

A certain loser from Oregon runs a blog compiling gun violence in Wal Mart, many of the attacks are less damaging than this one, yet this gets no mention.

Oh yeah, because only guns and “Gun Death” count to them…and they have no shame, and no souls!

“Gun Death” Family

Lovely!

A man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his mother to death in her St. Cloud home last summer.

Forty-year-old Chad Matthew Pulju testified Friday that he couldn’t recall the specifics of his mother’s death because he was drunk, but he admitted he killed her.

The St. Cloud Times reported that the plea agreement calls for him to spend no more than 25 1/2 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for early June.

Pulju was accused of inflicting at least 47 sharp-force injuries to his mother, Geraldine Bennett, in the early hours of Aug. 23.

Horrific. No guns used, yet a dead body. No guns used, so no self-defense.

Why are we still using the metric of “Gun Death”?

“Gun Death” Kids and Dogs

Horrific:

A toddler who slipped outside through a doggie door was mauled to death by her family’s seven dogs in the backyard while the attack went unnoticed by child’s mother and other relatives inside their home, a southeast Georgia sheriff said Thursday….Relatives told investigators the dogs that mauled the child were essentially family pets — a mother dog and six offspring from a litter she had about 16 months ago, the sheriff said.

The dogs had their own doggie doors that let them come in and out of the house as they pleased. The family told deputies the dogs had never attacked a person, though one of them might have killed a cat, Smith said. He said relatives insisted the toddler would play with the dogs and even “use them as pillows while watching TV.”

Smith said the dogs looked healthy and well-fed, and investigators found no signs they were being used as fighting dogs by their owners.

Very interesting story, given that the dogs don’t appear to have been abused, the reason there were seven dogs is that their bitch had pups, and the doggie door implies the dogs are socialized with humans, yet we have this.

Dogs, unlike guns can “Just go off”. Sad

London Slashing Attack

This is really sad:

According to witnesses the attackers waited at the scene after attacking the soldier with machetes and knives until police arrived, asking for people to take pictures and film them.

One of the men was filmed ranting: “I apologise that women had to witness this today, but in our land, women have to see the same. (…) We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you.”

The man then walks away from the camera back towards the body.

In a picture, published by LiveLeak from the Twitter account of an eyewitness, a woman is seen confronting the alleged attacker, even as he brandishes a knife.

What’s really horrible is this is a SOLDIER who was killed by two men with KNIVES. Why are people trained and entrusted to bear arms disarmed by their governments?

Massachusetts Moves Its Chips Across the Board

This is an interesting event:

Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray announced Wednesday that he will resign on June 2 to accept a position as president and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Murray, 44, was once considered a leading contender to succeed Gov. Deval Patrick. But in January he announced that he would not seek the top office.

The lieutenant governor faced poor polling numbers and considerable political baggage: a mysterious car crash in 2011 and ties to disgraced former Chelsea housing chief Michael McLaughlin.

McLaughlin pleaded guilty earlier this year to concealing his outsize $360,000 salary from regulators.

Murray is a political mess right now, and there is talk that Patrick may be stepping down to replace Eric Holder. So the question is, who might be Murray’s replacement?

The bigger, and totally unanswered question is why aren’t ANY of these bastards rotting in prison?

Oh Those Pesky Facts!

You gotta love the arrogance of the anti-freedom types. They can do a national broadcast like this that obviously he has done no research on, and decide that his feelings are truth.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

First MASSIVE mistake.

A) The Militia is NOT the National Guard! And further to say that somehow members of the US Military have the right to keep and bear arms is just as foolish. Does he think that all the trained US Soldiers who were gunned down in Fort Hood simply decided that a rifle or pistol was simply too heavy that day? No! They were NOT ALLOWED to keep and bear arms while on base unless specifically designated by orders.

This is like saying slaves or prisoners are free….they just WANT to be sitting in that cell, or working in that field.

B) “Inaccurate”? It seems Lawrence thinks there was only one gun in existence in 1776, and that was the Brown Bess Musket. Yeah the smooth-bore musket could really only be accurate at glorified handgun ranges…still we had guns like the Kentucky Rifle which was used for both utilitarian things like pest control and hunting, but also for military sharpshooters. The musket was vastly faster to load, so people accepted the compromise in accuracy for speed of fire.

C) Let’s talk speed of fire! Two guns that came to mind that were contemporary to the 2nd Amendment drafting. This repeating Air Rifle that fed from a 20 round tubular magazine, and the Puckle Gun which was one of the first rapid-fire arms of the time.

The smugness really comes from O’Donnel’s idea that the founding Fathers assumed the world would ALWAYS be like 1776. Ironic given that we’re watching a national TV broadcast over the internet.

This is like saying that in the 80s we could never conceive a cellular telephone that could fit in a pocket! Or that it might have multimedia capabilities.

Or maybe my GRANDPARENTS were thinking that when they read Dick Tracy in the news papers.

The idea that somehow the founding fathers couldn’t conceive that a rifle like the AR-15 (which itself is over 50 years old, and builds off of technology over 100 years old) would ever exist, even when very crude guns with aspects of its function existed at the time.

Of course he also claims that the Militia is the National Guard, and if you’re an active duty serviceman or woman you somehow have rights pertaining to your issue gun(s) is a pretty loaded bill of goods, given that six seconds on the internet (that the founding Fathers NEVER could have imagined….so maybe it should be banned?) can prove false.

Hey but if he says it we should believe it, right? These are the people demanding we give our freedom to them!

No thanks!
