The operating theory now in the investigation is they were short one gun. The older brother had a gun. They wanted to get a gun for the younger brother and the fastest and most efficient way they could think of doing it was a surprise attack on a cop, to take his weapon and go. Officer Collier had a locking holster, it’s like a three-way lock. If you don’t know how to remove the gun, you’re not going to get it out. There was apparently an attempt to yank it and they couldn’t get it and left. “
They were gun shopping! Nice huh? Also the car-jacking victim? He had a “Coexist” bumper sticker on his car. **UPDATE** Looks like it was a Hoax, thanks Ben for the straight dope on that. Still I’ll keep the below rant as it still holds with my feeling on those stupid stickers.
The stupidity of the whole “Coexist” bumper stickers is that they are preaching to the choir or a brick wall. I’m happy to live along side people who are different than me, or don’t agree with me…I don’t need to see a piece of plastic on your car to do that. These guys saw the Crescent and Star of Islam and car-jacked him anyway. Likely if he hadn’t escaped they would have murdered him too.
Remember, peace takes two willing parties, War only takes one!
A confession from the Family Research Council shooter:
“Southern Poverty Law lists anti-gay groups,” Corkins tells interrogators in the video, which FRC obtained from the FBI. “I found them online, did a little research, went to the website, stuff like that.”
The Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard reported that Corkins, who pleaded guilty to terrorism charges, said in court that he hoped to “kill as many as possible and smear the Chick-Fil-A sandwiches in victims’ faces, and kill the guard.” As Bedard explained, “the shooting occurred after an executive with Chick-Fil-A announced his support for traditional marriage, angering same-sex marriage proponents.”
Southern Poverty Law Center, that stuff on your hands? That’s called blood!
What were they hoping to accomplish?
Activists occupied an animal facility at the University of Milan, Italy, at the weekend, releasing mice and rabbits and mixing up cage labels to confuse experimental protocols. Researchers at the university say that it will take years to recover their work.
Many of the animals at the facility are genetic models for psychiatric disorders such as autism and schizophrenia.
No arrests have been made following the 12-hour drama, which took place on Saturday, although the university says that it will press charges against the protesters. The activists took some of the animals and were told during negotiations that they would be permitted to come back later and take more.
Guess what the first thing they’re going to do when the researchers get back into that animal facility? Euthanize ALL the animals. ALL OF THEM. The research is ruined, as there is no way to be sure which animals are which, and what was done to them. More than likely these goons didn’t wear protective gear so they introduced bacteria and viruses into clean areas. All animals will have to be culled off. Any unique strains will have to be re-derrived inside a quarantine facility. (For those who don’t know, its usually done by in-vitro fertilization in a germ-free foster-mother animal) and the rooms will need to be fully fumigated to return them to clean status.
If any animals are released they will die in the wild as they are bread to exhibit disease models, not survive on their own.
And Not only does this hurt the animals, but the people who might benefit from treatment as well.

Looks like the LAPD have paid 4.2 Million Dollars to the women they attempted to murder during the Chris Dorner manhunt.
These poor women were floating through my mind during the Boston Lockdown on Friday. No Criminal charges have been filed, and the charges most certainly would be violation of police protocol, as well as attempted murder, destruction of property and assault with a deadly weapon. The police are refusing to arrest their own, which means this WILL happen again.
Also when people see armored cars filled with police officers clad in full military gear, they seem to think there’s a need for THEM to defend themselves.
On Friday, the nation watched as the Boston area went under lockdown during a manhunt for the armed and dangerous marathon bombing suspect. If you were in that situation, would you want a gun at your side?
Most American voters say yes, according to a new Fox News poll.
Sixty-nine percent say if they were in a situation similar to Bostonians, they would want a gun in their house.
That includes a large 88-percent majority of those in gun-owner households, as well as 50 percent of those in non-gun homes.
So much for 90%! Also isn’t it nice that the towns effected by this lockdown are towns that generally refuse to issue carry permits to citizens, and do everything they can to make life difficult for those who even want a crappy restricted permit.

SALT LAKE CITY – A Samurai sword-wielding Mormon bishop helped a neighbor woman escape a Tuesday morning attack by a man who had been stalking her.
Kent Hendrix woke up Tuesday to his teenage son pounding on his bedroom door and telling him somebody was being mugged in front of their house. The 47-year-old father of six rushed out the door and grabbed the weapon closest to him — a 29-inch high carbon steel Samurai sword….”His eyes got as big as saucers and he kind of gasped and jumped back,” Hendrix said by phone Tuesday afternoon. “He’s probably never had anyone draw a sword on him before.”
The man ran down the street with the barefoot Hendrix and others in pursuit. Hendrix said he couldn’t catch the man before he fled in his car, but he picked up ChapStick that the man dropped and memorized his license plate.
“I yelled at him, `I’ve got your DNA and I’ve got your license plate: You are so done,”‘ Hendrix said.
The suspect, 37-year-old Grant Eggersten, turned himself in to police an hour later, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. He was booked on charges of robbery, attempted burglary, trespassing and violation of a stalking injunction.
Hendrix, a pharmaceutical statistician, was one of several neighbors who came to the woman’s aid after she began yelling for help, Hoyal said.
The incident began just after 7 a.m. when the 35-year-old woman came out of her front door, Hoyal said. Eggersten was hiding behind her carport and attacked her, knocking her to the ground, Hoyal said.
Hells yeah! The man is not only an LDS Bishop, but a Martial Arts Instructor, and statistician! Fucking Renaissance man! If this was a roll playing game, I’d accuse the player of cheating! I would prefer a gun over the sword, but I’ll note that guns are my preferred martial arts, so it makes sense. Remember, I carry a “antiquated” 1911 just because I’m very familiar and comfortable with them. The same could be said about this guy’s blade.

GOOD! None of this “Just Give Them What They Want” crap. Violent criminals really WANT to be swarmed by good people, they just don’t know it! Also none of that “Let the police handle this” crap. When seconds count, police are minuets away!

Thankfully the lovely Christina who is a HARDCORE grammar Nazi will text me when something on the blog makes her hair stand on end, and I usually can jump online with my phone and fix the error. Still I’ll be reading old posts and find typos galore…sometimes I fix them sometimes I don’t.
So for people who can’t spell you know what some hard words are? “Chechnya”, “Makhachkala”, “Tamerlan Tsarnaev” and “Dzhokhar Tsarnaev”!
A police official source in Makhachkala, Dagestan, told NBC News on Sunday that the Russian internal security service reached out to the FBI last November with some questions about Tamerlan, and handed over a copy of case file on him.
Tsarnaev had first popped up on the local police radar in Dagestan last summer, the source said. During routine surveillance of an individual known to be involved in the militant Islamic underground movement, the police witnessed Tamerlan meet the latter at a Salafi mosque in Makhachkala, the police official said.
It was one of six times in total that surveillance officials witnessed Tsarnaev meeting this militant at the same mosque, according to the police official.
The militant contact later disappeared, the police official said, but so did Tsarnaev before investigators had a chance to speak with him. The FBI never responded, according to the Dagestani police official….Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) asserted Monday that the FBI was unaware of Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s six-month visit to Russia because his name was misspelled. But there were some questions about whether the FBI’s inquiry ever reached a stage at which his name would have been fed into the master database for terrorist and other watchlists.
This is the same nonsense as the Time Square Bombing attempt, US officials were warned about dangerous terrorists and they never even made it into the mythical “Terror Watch List”.
Of course boy scouts, US officials, and infants seem to populate the list. I wonder if there is even a single terrorist ON the actual list.
At this rate it is firmly in the “More Harm Than Good” measure. Oh and those anti-gun forces know this, and still want anybody on this bogus list to be denied their rights.

An Oxon Hill woman is accused of stabbing her mother’s boyfriend to death during an argument in Oxon Hill late Thursday night, authorities said.
Your standard “Gun Death” Story, but there’s a bonus at the bottom:
The killing is the fifth homicide in Prince George’s County this week — a week that also saw a 3-year-old inadvertently run over by a car and two daughters and their father killed in a fire.
