Venezuela’s information minister says the government has decided that the body of Hugo Chavez will not be embalmed for permanent display, as officials had said it would be….The message says the commission had said Chavez’s body would have to be sent to Russia for seven to eight months to be properly embalmed.

Authorities in Merced County, Calif., say no charges are expected to be filed after a two-year-old boy died from drinking cleaning fluid.
Authorities tell the Merced Sun-Star that the child’s grandmother gave the boy what she thought was a bottle of water to drink Friday afternoon. The boy had become thirsty while playing at his grandparents’ shop and the grandmother found the bottle on the floorboard of her husband’s truck.
But the bottle actually contained solution used to clean aluminum rims.
Now working in a lab, there is a OSHA rule that any bottle in the lab MUST be labeled with its contents. If you fill a bottle with water you need to put a label on it that says “H2O”, I’ve never written “Tap Water” because I’ve never felt the need to keep it around, so generally my “H2O” labels also contain “Distilled” or “Sterile” etc. I’ll also note that on one of the boats I worked on there was a Gatoraid bottle bouncing around in a bin for days filled with red liquid. Looked like punch Gatoraid…then one day the boat lost steering, and the captain refilled the steering line with the red liquid. Turns out it was transmission oil, not Gatoraid. Lesson learned.
Also on a similar note, growing up in Maine it wasn’t uncommon for there to be guns in plain sight, such as shotguns or rifles hanging on the wall, or pistols tucked in cabinets. Not sure if they were loaded, it didn’t matter, they were guns, all kids knew they were real, and we knew they weren’t to be touched without adult supervision and permission. No locks, no disassembly, no “Safe Storage” nonsense. The only gun safety needed was educating kids that guns are dangerous and they only get to be handled by adults or with adult supervision. They weren’t stored in Toy Boxes with other toys like some anti-rights studies did.
Oddly enough this can all be solved with REAL common sense. Don’t put dangerous chemicals into a bottle labeled for safe chemicals. Don’t trust opened containers. Hell don’t give a kid an opened water bottle, period, as even a bottle containing spring water could be filled with dangerous bacteria if left open for a long period of time in a warm environment!
In the end there are things more dangerous than guns, but I guess we only need to focus on “Gun Death”.

A woman died after being stung more than 500 times when her car hit a bee hive.
The swarm attacked the 23-year-old Brazilian woman after her car left the road in a thunderstorm on Saturday night.
Doctors in Rosario do Sul city, Brazil, said the woman may not have known she was allergic to bee stings.
Police believe she lost control of the car during the storm and her car hit the hive which had been left under a tree by beekeepers.
I’m actually going to call bullshit on the line about bee allergies. Now I may not be privy to all the coroner’s information, but I suspect 500 stings will likely kill just about anybody, even people like myself who’s NOT allergic to bee and wasp venom. Its a toxin, and while somebody with an allergy can easily die from a single sting, several hundred stings can be toxic enough to kill people.
Brazil has heavy gun control laws, they also have HUGE amounts of “Gun Death”. The anti-rights goons say this is because this is not a “Civilized” nation…which is both stupid, and racist.
What they don’t have is beekeeper control! Who NEEEEDS honey?
Also my heart goes out to the family of this poor woman, she didn’t deserve this.

A thug who attacked his girlfriend in the street has walked free from court after magistrates told him a community sentence is ‘tougher’ than prison.
Toby Hayden, 27, hit his partner of two years in a drunken rage when a cash machine told him he had insufficient funds to withdraw money.
He repeatedly punched Loretta Butterworth, 22, in an assault that ended only when passers-by heard her screaming ‘please help me’.
When police arrived to arrest Hayden, he spat in the face of one officer and tried to gouge out the eyes of another.
But despite being on a suspended sentence for a previous violent crime, magistrates sentenced him to an 18-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to complete an anger management course.

Not only was a violent criminal not punished for his previous crimes, he wasn’t punished for this crime. And while he was severely beating his girlfriend on a public street in front of horrified onlookers, NOBODY intervened, they just waited for police. Because in the UK violent criminals aren’t severely punished for their crimes, but people who use violence to stop violence are punished. Maybe those punishments aren’t severe either, given that “Progressive” nations don’t have the stomach to punish people for crimes, but to tarnish a clean criminal record is a big deal for a lawful citizen. I know people who were pinched for minor marijuana possession that they considered “no big deal”…until later in their adult life they realized that even a minor felony charge is a taint that never washes off.
This is the world they want us all to live in. No thanks!
So I was driving by my local gun shop, which I haven’t set foot in recently. I stocked up on Ammo in November (which I felt like a fool doing due to the election hype, but my Nephew was coming down for a weekend at the range, and I wanted to stock up for him) and then in January I was in permit renewal limbo (your permit is valid for 90 days after it expires so long as the Police are processing your renewal, but gun shops won’t accept an expired permit if you attempt to buy a gun or ammo…Massachusetts sucks like that).
WOW, talk about picked over. There was a ton of random crap that usually just sits on shelves just to fill out the empty pistol case. There was ammo for some calibers, but nothing for .22 or 9×19!
I had a few guns on my wantsy list, none were there. They also had a Enfield “Jungle Carbine” that was in awesome shape. (anybody have one of them? Are they as crappy as some say? Not that it matters as I doubt I’d be able to hustle up any .303 ammo)
Still despite the bare shelves there were guns FLYING out the doors. Also while ammo was expensive (but that’s really just the new reality) the gun prices were all good.
Man, I can’t wait until stuff gets back to normal, I don’t even want to shoot .22 until I know I can buy more!
The New York SAFE act claims its first victim…kinda.
A 33-year-old man from western New York state is the first person to be charged under the state’s strict new gun law that was passed in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shootings….According to court documents, the sale included an AR-15, nearly 300 rounds of ammo and six magazines and an AR-10 semi-automatic rifle along with 31 rounds of ammo and one magazine.
During the investigation, prosecutors say, the undercover officer told Wassell that he or she was a convicted felon. Under the SAFE Act, it is illegal to sell an AR-10 to a felon….Prosecutors said they have an audio recording of Wassell allegedly telling the investigator, “this whole felony banned for life thing, it’s stupid.”
The AR-10 was treated as an assault weapon covered by the new gun law because it allegedly had a specific type of pistol grip.
Stings like this really reek of entrapment to me. He sold a gun to a police officer who made some cryptic statements about being a felon. He wasn’t a felon, and he’s allegedly an exempted individual so the sale actually was legal.
Also, yes the AR has a pistol grip…it has an inline stock, so it NEEDS one so the shooter can grip it. Now this case isn’t very clean, but do you feel any safer that this man is facing serious charges?
Of course also selling to a felon is a FEDERAL crime, not just a crime in New York.

Filmmaker Michael Moore believes that if photos from December’s Newtown massacre are released, then the National Rifle Association will be finished.
While not explicitly calling for the photos to be published, Moore said on his blog Wednesday that the photos will likely be made public at one point or another. Once they do, Moore said, “it will be the day the debate on gun control will come to an end.”
“How on earth could anyone not spring into action the very next moment after seeing the bullet-riddled bodies of these little boys and girls?” Moore wrote.
Easy, start publishing the morgue photos of all the dead bodies in Chicago or DC to show how “Lovely” the gun control Utopias are! Why don’t we show photos (faces and distinguishing marks blurred) of rape an assault victims, so you can see the potential of a world without “Gun Death”?
Barbaric, isn’t it? Why that’s JUST what you are, Mike. This is why we call them “Blood Dancers”, they can’t motivate their fellow gun-grabbers to accomplish anything on facts or merits, so they must go for crass emotional appeal.
