“Gun Death” Binge Drinking

A Fraternity initiation ends in the death of a pledge:

Thirteen of the 22 fraternity members facing hazing-related charges after the death of a Northern Illinois University student have turned themselves in….Nineteen-year-old David Bogenberger died after drinking heavily during a Nov. 1 party at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house in DeKalb, about 60 miles west of Chicago.

Police say Bogenberger and other pledges drank large quantities of liquor over two hours.

So the deceased was 19, two years below the legal drinking age, also I assume he was a Freshman, which often is when young adults learn their drinking limitations, hopefully by older students keeping them out of trouble.

No idea if the house attempted cover this up by not getting him the medical attention he obviously needed.

Still, not a “Gun Death”, so let’s ignore this!

The Anti-Freedom Religion

So Joe quote known troll, drug dealer, and criminal gun owner MikeB302000 on his blog.

I’ll just encourage you read the quote, and go back and read all of the comments leading to it. Essentially this is a question I asked Mike back when we were on more friendly terms, and his dark history was still unknown to me. “What would I need to show you to get you to change your mind on gun control?”

Mike has repeatedly stated that there is nothing that will sway him. Its a religion. This is a religion held by most anti-rights activists. Joan Peterson made it equally as clear.

Hell Mike just linked this video:

Debunked Joyce studies, and vigorous assertion is all this “Brian” brings to the table. He’s declared the pro-freedom side wrong BECAUSE THEY ARE WRONG! In their mind, no further proof is needed. They have blind faith that banning guns is good, and no matter what facts are presented, they will not belive that private ownership of firearms could EVER be good. Further no matter how spurious or unethical a study that comes up, they will cling to it like the flotsam of a sinking ship.

Now the purpose of this post is NOT about those anti-rights cultists, but about the big picture. The anti-rights cultists ARE useful, they’re good for oppositional research, seeing what might be coming down the pike for proposed laws, and to see what talking points they’re attempting to use to mislead the public. Its the work of people like Joan Peterson, as well as the usual suspects in the national legislature, as well as local gun-banners to see that blanket confiscation is their end goal, and through that “Universal background checks” are the first step in that grand scheme.

Still what will NEVER happen is getting them to change their mind. Life is not a Hollywood movie, and while Walt Kowalski from Gran Torino learned to overcome his racial bigotry and self-loathing on the silver screen. In real life Walt would have died alone in a hospital bed consumed with racial hatred.

They say “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” for a reason. Cliches are mostly true things, and the same goes with these bigots.

Still not everybody who has a fear or hatred for freedom is a cultist. I should know, I used to be one of them. Still my desire to ban private guns was not a strong one, because I lacked the faith they have. So even though my conversion was in the early days of the internet, if it happened today I wouldn’t be running an anti-gun blog.

Think about it, did I start a pro-gun blog BEFORE I had examined countless quantum of data, and learned large amounts about guns and how they worked? No! While I had some remaining doubts, overall what got me to start publicly speaking about gun rights was my confidence that I was on the right track.

So while we have no ground to win with the common faces on gun control, there are countless people who are concerned about the issue who CAN be swayed. The big factor is they aren’t going to broadcast themselves in the open.

The battlefield for gun rights will not be on forums, or blogs, but at the water cooler, in the locker room, or around the dinner table.

We need to be out there! We’re pro-freedom, and we’re not ashamed of it. Also we need to understand that just because somebody may speak favorably for gun control does NOT mean they’re a cultist, and instead need to be given respect and patience…even when they won’t reciprocate the same to you.

Don’t get frustrated, if we were losing we’d be able to buy ammo, magazines, and guns right now!

Just Wait Until We All Use This System

Another “Success” Story for Government Healthcare.

Federal officials are blaming unsafe working conditions for the death of a San Francisco Veterans Affairs medical center researcher who died after he handled a rare strain of bacteria

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Wednesday issued a notice of “serious violations” to the medical center for the death last year of 25-year-old Richard Din.

OSHA says the VA failed to properly supervise and protect Din while he was developing a vaccine for the particular strain of meningitis that killed him.

In particular, OSHA says Din was working in an open area outside of a so-called biosafety cabinet. Those cabinets are enclosed, ventilated areas most researchers use when working with dangerous germs.

I work with Biosafety cabinets, and they are easy to misuse, as they rely on strong air currents to keep a sterile field. Still the risk factors in my line of work are considerably less than this situation.

Its sad that the VA is such a miserable system for treating those who have done so much for this nation.

Clean Coal

For real!

Researchers have discovered a stunning new process that takes the energy from coal without burning it — and removes virtually all of the pollution.

The clean coal technique was developed by scientists at The Ohio State University, with just $5 million in funding from the federal government, and took 15 years to achieve…The process removes 99 percent of the pollution from coal, which some scientists link to global warming. Coal-burning power plants produced about one-third of the nation’s carbon dioxide total in 2010, or about 2.3 billion metric tons, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Retrofitting them with the new process would be costly, but it would cut billions of tons of pollution….Fan discovered a way to heat coal, using iron-oxide pellets for an oxygen source and containing the reaction in a small, heated chamber from which pollutants cannot escape. The only waste product is therefore water and coal ash — no greenhouse gases. As an added benefit, the metal from the iron-oxide can be recycled.

I fail to see how CO2 isn’t produced without the coal ash still having long carbon chains in it, and therefore the majority of its chemical energy. Probably making this not very viable as we not only need clean energy, but at a reasonable price.

Still interesting article.

“Gun Death” Mass Stabbing

In Guam

A man accused of killing two Japanese visitors and injuring a dozen others after crashing his car and stabbing people in a major tourist district in Guam has been arrested and faces multiple charges, police said Wednesday.

Chad Ryan DeSoto, 21, of Tamuning is accused of driving a Toyota Yaris onto a sidewalk and striking seven tourists Tuesday night at an upscale shopping area fronting the Outrigger Guam Resort in Tumon Bay, Guam police spokesman A.J. Balajadia said. DeSoto continued driving on the sidewalk, crashing into the wall of a convenience store. He then left his car and started stabbing people, police said.

DeSoto is charged with two counts of murder, 13 counts of attempted murder and 13 counts of aggravated assault, Balajadia said. No motive or other details on the investigation were released.

A Knife, not an “Assault Weapon” and a subcompact car rather than an Evil SUV. Seems that focusing on the tool is a bit foolish, is it not?

A Valid Point!

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed

This makes gun control illegal:

A Missouri lawmaker is proposing to send colleagues to prison for introducing gun control legislation — a plan that even its sponsor acknowledges has no chance of passage but nonetheless highlights the increasingly strident tone of gun measures in Missouri’s generally pro-gun Legislature.

Rep. Mike Leara said Tuesday that he considers his bill a statement of principle. It would make lawmakers guilty of a felony punishable by up to four years in prison if they introduce legislation restricting gun rights.

Break your oath of office, go to prison! Sounds fair to me! Hell it’s a lot more fair than sending somebody to prison for possessing a magazine!

Another Way To Celebrate

Again, I’d just buy a new gun

A New York mom was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly hired strippers to perform at her 16-year-old son’s birthday party, The Daily Freeman reported.

Judy H. Viger, 33, from Gansevoort, N.Y., which is north of Albany, paid for two ‘female adult entertainers’ to perform ‘intimate dances’ for birthday party attendees, which included five who were younger than 17, police told the paper.

Photos from the Nov. 3 party reportedly appeared online. At least one photo showed a woman clinging upside down to what was described as a seated teen, the report said. Police said several ‘kids’ at the party got lap dances, the report said.

The party appeared to be a large affair. The report said there were 80 adults and teens at the event, which was located at Spare Time Bowling Center. The floor-to-ceiling windows were reportedly covered with brown paper.

Queen of Classy there!

Antis Are Criminals

Joe Biden advocates illegal and dangerous use of guns:

Also if AR-15s are so difficult to use, and coach guns are the most deadly gun on the planet
