They Don’t Call them the Big Five For Nothing

I have mixed feelings about this story. On one hand, if you have a professional guide you can give them a good deal of trust. Still on the other hand this is one of the animals on the “Big Five” for dangerous game animals, and I wouldn’t take that lightly at all!

Hopefully they will fully recover…

“Gun Death” Stalker

No word in the article if there was a protection order, not that those would have stopped this:

A jilted boyfriend stalked his teenage former girlfriend incessantly before stabbing her to death outside her apartment in a jealous rage, it was claimed today….Mr Peralta added: ‘As soon as we came downstairs, [Castillo] was just standing, facing her, watching her die. Since we recognized him, he started running. Everybody started chasing him.

‘He was just standing there, facing her. Everybody started chasing him. People with dogs let the dogs on him. He went to the park and disappeared.

He also attempted to kill himself with the knife, unfortunately he messed that up and is expected to recover.

I know people who have been in dangerous situations like this. I advise them to A) Get a protective order…not that they stop attacks like this, but it creates a paper trail in case something bad happens. B) Get a gun, and C) Get their carry permit.

In NYC where this happened those last two are near impossible. I hate to advocate breaking the law, but one must think about the value of their life in situations like this. Also this is why I’m against carry permits. There really isn’t any data I’ve seen that shows that the piece of paper or any of the requirements or training doing any good for public safety, but what it does is make people who realize they are in danger NOW have to wait for permission to arrive in the mail, which these days is often MONTHS.

Be safe out there people!

More “Blood in the Streets” from the Antis

You gotta love the antis, and their Chicken little syndrome!

Oregon has one of the most accessible state Capitol buildings in the nation. No metal detectors to pass through. No barricades. And no law that prevents someone with a concealed handgun permit from openly carrying a loaded rifle or pistol into the building.

That openness is about to be put to a test.

On Friday, hundreds of gun rights supporters plan to rally outside the Capitol, many of them carrying guns. Although an organizer says there are no plans to march inside the building, Capitol officials are bracing for the possibility of armed visitors roaming its halls, meeting rooms and offices.

Note “One of the most accessible”, Texas and New Hampshire also have similar capitols, also I believe Pennsylvania if you flash your carry permit they let you bypass the security checkpoint.

This is not a new “Test”, and the end result is always the same.

Of course they pull out this crap:

In 2007, an armed man walked into the Colorado capitol building in Denver and was shot and killed by security officers after he made threatening comments outside the governor’s office. In 2010 a man walked onto the Texas capitol steps and started firing a handgun randomly. He was subdued and there were no injuries.

Again the status of the capital has NOTHING to do with this. If you are carrying a gun there are certain ways to conduct yourself which is lawful and fine, and certain ways to conduct yourself that will get you shot…by police or by the other lawful people who are armed.

But remember, its the pro-gun side that is sewing a culture of fear!

Into The Breech

OK I’m off to work for the STORM OF THE CENTURY!!!!1111!!

Mrs. Weer’d is working from home, but my animals need care, so I need to be there in person. Thankfully I’ve been cleared to get my work done and get out of dodge, so hopefully I’ll only be in for a few hours, then on my way back home.

Still the news story I was looking at this morning is the “Manhunt” (quotes because it looks my like an execution squad now) in LA. Odd that two innocent people have been injured by police for driving a “similar vehicle” to the suspect, and the news still isn’t reporting on it with any seriousness.

Civilians in LA are in vastly more danger than I am today, and their #1 threat is the LA PD who are shooting at anything that moves.

Also an interesting note, if “Assault Weapons” are so deadly and dangerous, why is it the police have so far failed in their attempts to execute innocent civilians?

Be safe out there people!

“Gun Death” More Illegal than Guns!

Here’s a little glimpse of how effective gun control would be if all guns were banned:

The son of billionaire Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been found dead at his home in Malibu….KTLA.com reported that Sterling had a drug problem and had been in and out of rehab. Neighbors told the TV station that the billionaire’s son was trying to get clean.

Recreational drugs are 100% illegal, yet this poor guy got enough to kill himself! Yep banning shit works good!

Stupidity From Joan

She’s good at it!

One “gun guy” packing heat suggested that it would be awful if he was charged with a crime for wandering onto school property with his loaded gun if his little boy runs into a school playground to slide. Question. Why do people need to carry guns when they go out for walks with their kids? I’m just saying. Most people don’t feel the need nor do they carry guns in public. It’s only about 2% of eligible Americans who have their permits. And they are so victimized when people don’t really want them to carry their guns in public places. For how are we to know the difference between a law abiding person with a gun openly holstered and a criminal with a gun in a holster? But that seems to be of no concern to these folks. They love their guns no matter where they are. So do people who want to do others harm. They love guns, too. And they have managed to kill about 11,000 or so of their fellow Americans in gun homicides on average for the past many years.

Uh huh. Well if I don’t need a gun when I’m out for a walk, then why do you need to BAN guns? Nice little attempt at painting conceal carry holders as killers. Not true, but I guess that’s what you can expect from the anti-freedom camp.

Assault weapons? Oh those. They are just your ordinary hunting gun, right? No. They are not nor should they be. There was a bit of a testy exchange with a retired FBI agent who testified in support of the assault weapons ban and the legislator mentioned above. Said legislator took issue with the agent saying he didn’t know people who hunted with AR-15s. Mr. Legislator says everyone hunts with them. They don’t but if he says so it must be true. He says it with so much authority that he doesn’t expect to be questioned

Odd, I know people who hunt with ARs, AKs, and other so-called “Assault Weapons”, and who have been hunting with them for years. These people must not exist! Hey, but what do I know, right?

Keep up the good work, Joan! You’re money well spent from the Joyce Foundation!

AR Vs. Shotgun

Great Video!

Compliant guns pose just as much threat in the hands of an evil person. Meanwhile in the hands of a good person, I’d rather take the rifle for more precision, less felt recoil, and the added bonus of long rifle rounds loosing stability faster than spherical shotgun pellets.

They will not stop until they have banned ALL GUNS. Don’t give an inch!

Jeff on “Assault Weapons”

Since Jeff knows a thing or two about ATF regs (not sure what FFL he holds, but he’s got one), he gets down to some of the details glossed over by the anti-rights fiends.

Left Wing Terror

One of those things you won’t be hearing about from the anti-rights goons who talk so much about “insurrectionists”

And what do you know, Chris Dorner, the former-police officer suspected of being behind the murder rampage presently unfolding in Los Angeles, has apparently left behind a manifesto addressed to America that the media’s already selectively reporting on to leave out the more inconvenient portions. You see, there’s no political upside for the media to reveal the politics of this suspected madman.

What’s being reported as Mr. Dorner’s manifesto not only endorses Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 and vigorously defends Barack Obama and the Democrats’ current gun control push, he also savages the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre and expresses all kinds of unabiding for some of the biggest stars in the left-wing media — by name.

Follow the link to read excerpts. Also there’s this:

Two women who were shot by Los Angeles police in Torrance early Thursday during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer were delivering newspapers, sources said.
The women, shot in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said. They were not identified. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.

Look at the images. The tailgate and back window of the truck are RIDDLED with bullets. How could police have ascertained the threat from such an angle. Also there is suspicious absence of WHY these two women were fired upon. Maybe I’m paranoid, but this is an ex-cop turned cop-killer, I suspecting a execution, thin-blue-line style.

Lastly another report from a different case we won’t be hearing much of:

Prosecutors say Corkins, who had been volunteering at a center for gay, lesbian and transgender people, was carrying ammunition and Chick-fil-A sandwiches in his bag. Chick-fil-A was making headlines at the time because of its president’s stated opposition to gay marriage.

Corkins intended to smear the sandwiches in the faces of his victims to make a statement about gay rights opponents, he acknowledged during a hearing Wednesday…

In his plea agreement, Corkins acknowledged he identified the [Family Research] Council as “an anti-gay organization” by visiting Southern Poverty’s website. The head of the Council, Tony Perkins, called on the group to stop labeling his organization and others hate groups because of their stance on gay issues. A spokeswoman for the Alabama-based Law Center did not immediately return a telephone message…

The left-wing hate is coming home to roost. Those who use this “Insurrectionist” meme are the ones causing the real problems.
