Also note he doesn’t delve very far into the “If we could just save one life!” Rabbit hole.

We did ban alcohol for the common good. We got the bootleggers and the moonshiners. people still drank booze (tho sometimes a contaminated batch would kill dozens at a party or speakeasy), and we had shootings and bombings over the turf wars and criminals battling with police.

It didn’t save lives, it didn’t even reduce the consumption of booze…but it sure killed a LOT of people, and cost a lot of money for what were some of the darkest days in this nation.

Meanwhile people are buying guns like crazy, and restrictions on firearms ownership are being repealed, and concealed carry is the highest the nation has ever seen. And crime is DOWN!

So not only is the 2nd Amendment a good idea, but people owning guns is a good idea, and it DOES save lives.

“Gun Death” More Cars

Can’t compare guns to cars, because Cars are different!

A Plainview man is facing murder charges in connection with an auto wreck Sunday night that killed his wife and unborn child, and injured his son and a female passenger….Witnesses told Plainview police they saw Castaneda’s pickup truck ram the Pontiac several times, striking it with enough force to make it veer off the road and strike the pole.

The woman and her unborn child died from this deliberate act. Good thing nobody was shot!

Getting the Mag-Shotgun Right

Now I prefer pistols and rifles to self-defense, over shotguns. Still the big issues I have with shotgun is ammo capacity, reloading, and how to store it for home defense.

With a standard tube-fed shotgun you either need to store it with the tube full and the chamber empty, or the gun completely empty (or fully loaded in a safe). If you tuck a shotgun under the bed or in the closet, that seems a bit easy for somebody to accidentally chamber a round and get the gun to fire.

With pistols and rifles you can keep the gun empty, but a full magazine nearby for quick loading. Most of the box-fed shotguns have other issues…this one solves most of them:

Love the safety and the new magazine well! You can top that gun off really quick and without error. Also a bolt hold-open is really a must, and its a shame some gun makers don’t bother with them.

They’re probably hard to find these days, but it would be worth looking into if you want a home-defense scatter-gun without a tube-mag!

“Gun Death” Gas Explosion

Remember that Gas Explosion in ‘Nap-Town a while back? They’re saying murder!

Prosecutors have charged a homeowner, her boyfriend and his brother with murder after causing a massive house explosion last month that killed an Indianapolis couple and decimated their neighborhood….Authorities have said they believed the explosion was intentional and caused by natural gas.

Remember, its “Assault Weapons” that are the really dangerous things!

ALL THE DUCKS!!!

So I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Felt crappy and grouchy, so I flipped on the TV/Computer in the bedroom and did what any good man would do.

Go to Youtube and search for “Ducks”.

I found this vid:

The resulting dialog went like this:

Me: SQUEEEEE!!! ALL THE DUCKS!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Weer’d: OMG they are SO LOUD! That would drive me crazy if I had to listen to that all day long!

Me: ITS THE SOUND OF HAPPINESS!!!!!
