“Gun Death” Mom’s Boyfriend

I read a lot of these, but rarely this bad:

A four-year-old girl was beaten to death during a horrific punishment for dropping a meatball out of her Subway sandwich, her mother has claimed.

Mom gave detailed accounts of the beating because she was right there doing nothing! OVER A SANDWICH, and possibly because she was walking slow! Disgusting! Still it wasn’t a “Gun Death”, so I guess it doesn’t count!

Nice Fucking Survey!

Just got a phone call from some 877 number that didn’t register on my caller ID. Took a good two seconds for the caller to respond to me, so I knew it was a phone bank.

I knew where this was going, so I wasn’t surprised it was from such-and-such research group. They asked me: “If the election was held tomorrow, would you vote for Democrat Barack Obama, or Republican Mitt Romney?”

I said: “Neither”….which she responded “Thank you.” and ended the call.

Obviously there were other questions in that call, probably targeted for those giving love to Barry Hussien or RINO Willard.

What? No question for us Gary Johnson Votes? Not even “What Fictitious Spacecraft is your rusty Minivan named after?”

And sorry Serenity fans, but if I owned a rusty Dodge Caravan with peeling wood veneer, I’d call it The Nostromo. (Even tho the Sulaco was cooler ship in a better movie, I consider The Sulaco little more than a set piece and a prop in Aliens, while the Nostromo and its dated computer AI “Mother” was a fully developed character)

“Gun Death” More Sex Slaves

Something I wouldn’t think I’d get more stories about, but again, a death related to sex slavery:

DETECTIVES have charged a suspected member of a sex trafficking syndicate with murder over the brutal 2009 death of Melbourne man Abraham Papo, who was allegedly killed while attempting to help a Korean prostitute.

Papo, 27, died after being struck repeatedly with a tyre lever outside a South Melbourne brothel in February 2009, following an altercation with brothel employee De Jun ”Kevin” Zheng.

I believe a “tyre lever” is Aussie-speak for a tire iron, which is a tool so crucial to safety that every car comes with one standard. For those who think guns cause crime, why is it murder is so uncommon, yet there are probably more tire irons than there are people in any nation that has a highway system!

Of course slavery, for sexual reasons or otherwise, is also illegal like murder. Didn’t stop this jerk.

Neat!

Via Mrs. Weer’d this cool story!

Cognitive scientists working at MIT have devised a means for not only altering the dreams of rats, but of demonstrating a way of testing what they’ve achieved, offering evidence that it can be done, and in so doing have offered a glimpse into what may lie ahead for people who wish to manipulate their own dreams. Daniel Bendor and Matthew Wilson, working out of MIT’s Picower Institute for Learning and Memory have, as they describe in their paper published in Nature Neuroscience, used audio sounds to influence the dreams of rats they were studying.

That’s very neat! It was taken to the dark and sinister extreme in the Philip K. Dick story “We Can Remember it For You Wholesale” (adapted to screen as “Total Recall”), but really, how cool would it be to buy a designer high-quality dream?

Man Alan Gura is a Rock Star!

Sebastian has a link of the oral arguments on Kachalsky case.

There is a reason why our opponents are so hostile. We have brilliant minds like Alan Gura who can calmly and frankly explain why the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, even to judges who live in a place that has gotten very used to the infringments of their states.

The case will be very exciting, as Heller and McDonald were simply addressing the “to Keep” part of the 2nd Amendment, now we are addressing (at least in part, it looks like Gura is going after the narrow scope of “May Issue” or “No Issue”, other restrictions like “Gun Free Zones” will likely need to be addressed at a later date) the “And Bear” part.

Heller and McDonald ruled on prohibitions of gun ownership, this case is going after the carrying of said arms in public spaces.

When Swamp Donkeys Attack

As the joke goes a gun is better than a camera:

I don’t know enough about moose to known if it was sick or just mad with the rut. I do know that just about all my relatives in Northern Maine have moose attack stories. You don’t hear many stories of people actually getting killed, but they’re HUGE so it doesn’t take much.

Carry your damn guns, they aren’t just for two-legged predators. Also if there are BIG dangerous animals in your area you might want to consider what the gun you’re carrying might do if you get attacked by a REALLY big critter.

Some talk on dangerous game carry guns here.

Vote With Your Feet

There’s a reason why Socialist Nations build walls to keep their people IN!

Bernard Arnault — the richest man in Europe — has ignited an uproar in France over taxes, citizenship, patriotism and what policies the government needs to promote growth….Arnault — the CEO of French fashion giant LVMH, owner of houses like Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior — is the symbol of France’s treasured luxury fashion industry.

So when the face of “Made in France” confirmed Sunday that he had applied for dual citizenship in Belgium it struck deep chord in France’s national pride.

Despite his protests, many thought it was an attempt to dodge the new Socialist government’s planned 75 percent tax on the country’s wealthiest.

I wonder if France will wise up, or start building walls.
