Wow, they fooled me!
A lot of people have wondered how concealable the Flashbang Holster really is. You’ll have to trust me, but I was looking at Laura’s chest when they mentioned the holster and my thoughts were: “Hey her bust seems to be a good size to use that!”.
Again, you’ll have to take my word. But I didn’t notice the holster in the least. Also I guess I didn’t realize it was a clamshell holster rather than a conventional sleeve. The fact that the draw is DOWN does seem to bring muzzling concerns down a bit.
Neat!
Scott Hammond doesn’t blame the 15-year-old boy accused of killing his only son during a game of Russian roulette at a sleepover in a small Pennsylvania town earlier this month. Instead, he prays for him…The gun was left unloaded in a basement drawer, the third boy, who has not been named and who also faces charges, told police. As midnight drew near and they talked about things boys talk about, McConoughey allegedly took the gun and two bullets out of the drawer. He spun the revolver’s cylinder, loading and unloading bullets — “pointing the gun and joking around,” police said.
“Let’s play Russian roulette,” the boy allegedly heard McConoughey say, according to court documents.
A moment later, McConoughey allegedly pointed the gun at Hammond’s head. “He pulled the trigger thinking it was going to click,” police said.
Neal Hammond was struck in the right temple and died the next morning, July 20, at 9:30 a.m.
Now had this been a bunch of adults being stupid, I’d have been glib. I’d have played the “Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes”, and I would be calling for the shooter to be at least facing manslaughter charges, if not worse.
But these are kids.
Now also I COULD point out that one shouldn’t be leaving unsecured guns around where kids can access them, but my own childhood is littered with me playing around unsecured guns. My Great Grandparents lived in rural Maine. They had a nice garden that bordered the woods. Pretty typical with Maine there was an old single-shot .22 by the back door, and my Grandfather would keep a handfull of shells in an ashtray near the counter (a relic from his days as a smoker).
Now this setup was so if he woke up and saw some pest animal doing harm to his property he could dispatch it and get on with his day. Even at a VERY young age I was told that under NO circumstances could I touch that gun, or the ammo. They never laid a hand on me in anger their entire lives, and as Great Grandparents they spoiled me ROTTEN…but I knew that while they were more lax than my parents when it came to rules…this was NOT one I could cross.
Hell my Grandfather even let me play with the rifle when he was watching. I actually didn’t like it much, as it was heavy, and my toy guns made a nice “Click” or “Pop” when I pulled the trigger…this gun did nothing, because it was unloaded and the striker in the down position.
I had other relatives that had guns in closets and hanging on the wall, and I’ve known many people who grew up around guns, and many who even had their own rifles at a young age, and were even allowed to go out unsupervised to clear the farm fields of harmful pests.
So access isn’t the key…the key is RESPECT. Guns are inherently dangerous. This doesn’t make them BAD, many things around the home are dangerous, from cleaning chemicals to kitchen knives, to wood-working tools. The most dangerous gun is the one that isn’t talked about.
Just because you don’t have guns at home doesn’t mean kids will never encounter one!
Eddie Eagle and The Safety rules should be taught to all age appropriate kids. (Younger kids to not touch, leave and tell an adult, older kids to know how to safely handle a gun).
Its stupid to load any ammo into a revolver and pull the trigger at something you’re not willing to see destroyed…even a 1 in 3 chance are bad odds….but I wouldn’t even point an UNLOADED gun at a friend, because Rule #1: All guns are loaded, and Rule #2: Never point a gun at anything you don’t want to see destroyed.
This scenario just CAN’T safely happen, and these kids obviously didn’t realize that until it was too late.
And who opposes safety training? Those who use “Gun Death” as political capital of course!
If you live in an abusive home GET OUT!
As deputies were responding, a neighbor called the sheriff’s office saying an 11-year-old girl at his home said her dad beat up her mom at the address, the sheriff’s office said.
Stacy Birkenmeirer, 40, had head injuries and was taken to a hospital in Bloomer, Wis., before being flown to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis. She was listed in critical condition Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Joan Peterson is one of the “Gun Death” Zealots who somehow thinks that if we ban guns we’ll get rid of domestic violence.

Of course Anti-Freedom, not anti gun. We’ve all heard by now that Boston Mayor Tom “Mumbles” Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel both declared that Chick-fil-a would not be allowed in their cities because the CEO said something they didn’t like. They have both since reneged on their pledge because they found that their constituents have more respect for the 1st Amendment than they do for the 2nd (Both Mayors are high-ranking members of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and their cities are some of the worst cities for gun owners in America).
A Nashua Chick-Fil-A restaurant will be sponsoring New Hampshire Pride Fest, according to an event organizer.
Ryan Manseau, the senior director of Pride Fest, told WBZ-TV he was handing out fliers at the Pheasant Lane Mall recently to promote his event and noticed a man who appeared to be a Chick-Fil-A manager holding one.
Free speech goes both ways…but when you’re “Progressive” its always better to go AGAINST freedom, rather than with it!
**UPDATE** Hotair has coverage of the success of “Chick-fil-a appreciation day”, I personally don’t get the hype of it, its good chicken, but not worth a long wait in line. Also all the restaurants near me are in food courts, and I’d rather not.

I know lots of people who control pests with .223 ARs. The magazine is kinda irrelevant, but It simply means more time on the bench, blind, or prone in the field. Oh and they’re called “Varmints”. You just said the equivalent of “My computer is for checking the internets”. Of course making you look ignorant isn’t much of a concern when in fact you ARE ignorant.
BTW How many of you out there have hunted medium game with .223? I always heard the round was too small, but I have since heard a few accounts of people taking deer and larger creatures with one humane shot from a .223 gun, as with people who hunt pigs with them. I would say bullet selection would be VERY critical for that application, but a properly performing .223 bullet through the heart/lungs should do the trick for most things.
Yep Obama is now so desperate that he’s doing a how-to video about sending him money! Because evidently his key demographic is the “Too stupid to know how to send money” one. Seriously, I have to throw away so many donation forms in junk mail, both paper and electronic. And that’s stuff they’re sending ME! Let alone this simplicity

This does not make me feel well about things…
“Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson has confirmed on Facebook that “The Hobbit” will become a film trilogy.
Now the other two movies, starting Irish actors James Nesbitt and Aidan Turner, have wrapped the director has confirmed that a third movie is now in the mix.
To anybody who’s read The Hobbit, and the three books of Lord of the Rings will know the stories could be considered totally different animals if it wasn’t for the common characters, a “Blilbo’s Magic Ring”.
Now, like the people who only watched the films, I read the books the same way Hollywood has produced the movies. I read the LotR trilogy first, then went back to The Hobbit and read that. Knowing the saga of The One Ring, and Smeagol’s corruption by the Ring, I was appalled by how glib the “Riddles in the Dark” chapter was. It was pretty obvious to me that Tolkien was writing more of a classic children’s story with “The Hobbit” and a Magnum Opus with “Lord of the Rings”, and it seems almost more a convenient relationship that the two are even linked.
I can certainly agree with a creative process where “The Hobbit” is padded up a bit to make it fit better with the previous film blockbuster. Still I’m curious on HOW much padding can be added before the whole story capsizes. Certainly it would be wise to add a bit more gravity to the “Magic Ring” that is viewed as a quaint magic trinket in “The Hobbit”, and a malevolent force in “Lord of the Rings” (note that Gollum’s back story, he kills his cousin after just getting a brief glance of the One Ring, but Bilbo just sees it as a bit of treasure to be had), and with all the details Tolkien puts in his stories, as well as things that have been written about that time in Middle Earth in other works can easily fill two films.
Still when you read “The Hobbit”, its a quaint, and simple weekend read, and very suitable to young children…meanwhile “The Lord of the Rings” is dark, dense, and at times rambling with details. I wonder if a third Hobbit movie can be made without heavily watering down the story, as there really isn’t THAT much story to begin with…and maybe this is just a ploy to put more butts in seats and sell more DVDs.
Oh well, I’ll end on a light note:
