Great Rant

The Gun Geek has this little review up on his Norinco M14

Ho Hum, its a cheaper version of the Springfield M1A which is a gun I’m not terribly interested in either.

Still stick around for the political rant at the end. The bottom line is when somebody actually knows about guns the lies are as clear as day. Doesn’t matter if you’re American or Canadian or Serbian truth is truth.

Glad to hear some Canadians still have some fire in their bellies. Also love that accent!

Class Action

Jack brings the Class!

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– Tennessee whiskey maker Jack Daniel’s is donating more than $100,000 to pay for plane tickets and travel funds for soldiers at Fort Campbell, Ky., to spend the December holiday season with their families all over the country.

The distiller is also asking the public to make additional contributions that could help hundreds of cash-strapped soldiers who otherwise would be stuck at the post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. Donations can be made to the Operation Ride Home campaign online at www.jdoperationridehome.com.

I am not a Jack Daniels fan, my American Whiskey of choice is actually Wild Turkey (good enough for Hunter Thompson, good enough for me!) but man that’s a move that really puts the Gentleman in Gentleman Jack!

Well played!

Wonder What They Were Planning…

Looks like the Kill The Jews movement had an ace in their sleeve.

A number of weapons were discovered in New York’s Zuccotti Park after Occupy Wall Street protesters were evicted by the Police Department last week, law enforcement sources tell FoxNews.com…Gardeners employed by the park owners, Brookfield Properties, to clean up the mess made by occupiers during their two-month stay discovered knives and other potential instruments of violence in flower beds throughout the public space, according to officials.

Could just be trumped up fear tactics, or it could be the Anti-Semite Protesters were gearing up to have more than just rocks when the Occupy Wall Street group next Rioted.

Peaceful Protest!

WOW!

Bob has a great video up at his place, go watch it! Funny, cute, and emotional. You can tell the little girl knows this is a big deal, but she sure keeps her head on her shoulders for the whole thing.

I know lots of grown adults who turn into substandard doorstops when things get a little pear-shaped.

If she keeps that skill it’ll serve her VERY well her whole life!

How Gun Control Works

The anti-rights groups are all parroting this story:

Ending gun violence: Odom family’s story: MyFoxBOSTON.com

We have a family from the poor section of Boston. Its an older story so I don’t know any details beyond what is covered here. The family lives there so they know and don’t point their finger at “Gun Violence”, these areas are infested with gangs, they don’t have a “Gun Violence” problem they have a violence problem and there are far more kids found stabbed to death or beaten to death on these streets than shot.

But the anti-rights people want to beat their drum and blame the guns. In Boston you simply can’t get a carry permit, and will often have a hard time getting just a permit to own a handgun in your home. The handguns need to be on the approved roster, no “Assault Weapons”, any magazine holding more than 10 rounds must be made before 1994, to get your permit you must take a safety training course, be fingerprinted, and the guns must be registered with the state. Also if you want to do a private sale, that also must be registered with the state. Also your permit is at the discrestion of the police and can be taken away even if you commit no crime. (Is it a wonder why they routinly come out against due process?)

And what do we have? We have dead children. Why? Well because violent criminals are given lax sentences, and I can’t recall a murder suspect that doesn’t have a long criminal record, and most often is on parole for a previous violent crime.

They blame places with law gun laws…but not only do they have no proof that this mechanic actually happens, but also the places with lax gun laws simply don’t see this kind of crime.

In simple terms, we are doing it wrong here. Why continue the insanity and bury the dead?

Easy they WANT dead kids because “Gun Death” is the currency that they run on.

Quote of the Day: North

Forgive me, I’ve fallen behind reading Jennifer’s wonderful blog this post rang true with me but North’s comment slaps it out of the park.

I love my 15 year old. He deserves my love. If I go back in time to when he was 12, I still love him. If I go back in time to his birth, I love him. When he was kicking my wife at 8 months, I loved him. If I go back in time to when he started forming organs I love him. When he was 8 cells, I loved him. I can’t imagine not.

Was that too personal?

Nope, not to personal at all. Everybody has sat around a camp fire and swatting mosquitoes as they attempt to feed on us, most of us have trapped, poisoned, or outright swatted a mouse that was trespassing. Anti-gun people will often give a hat tip to people shooting ducks and deer and other such critters, or mention the animals they kill when they say “I’m a gun owner but…”.

But there are certain things that we consider innately human. We feel tenderness to infant humans, and for those that are ours we feel unconditional love…and as somebody without children of my own, but has cared for infants, you can feel the love even if it ISN’T yours. When you factor in what nasty creatures infants are. They poop, puke, cry, and get sick, and they need EVERYTHING from you….but we love them. Why? Because that’s what makes us human. If we could look at an infant the same way we look at a bug we wouldn’t be humanity.

But there are people who WANT to look at babies as not human. They are. Also if you want to see more of my views on abortion have a look here.

I err on the side of love and humanity. People like Nancy Pelosi have given up their humanity to be the people they are today. I can’t respect that.

More on DEA and Iodine

More Feds destroying personal innovation because somebody might do something bad with it.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and state regulators say druggies can use the single ingredient in his “Polar Pure” water purifier — iodine — to make crystal meth.

Wallace says federal and state agents have effectively put him out of business, because authorities won’t clear the way for him to buy or sell the iodine he needs for his purification bottles. He has been rejected for a state permit by the Department of Justice and is scheduled to appeal his case before an administrative judge in Sacramento next month.

Meanwhile, the exasperated Stanford University-educated engineer and his 85-year-old girlfriend said the government — in its zeal to clamp down on meth labs — has instead stopped hikers, flood victims and others from protecting themselves against a bad case of the runs.

Of course we all know the big reason for this particular ban ban its its narrow scope. Nobody uses decongestants every day, nobody uses iodine for disinfection every day, and nobody is wanting to propagate meth labs.

This is the same idea behind the 1994 “Assault Weapon” ban. The various guns that met the stated criteria were a small niche market, so the ban only effected a small portion of gun owners, who themselves were a small part of the population at the time.

Of course we can’t extend this view for the sake of “public safety” because banning cars because of drunk drivers and road rage, or banning kitchen knives or baseball bats because of murders and assault, or banning woman’s stockings because of robberies, etc etc would actually cause people to wake the fuck up!

This won’t stop punks from cooking meth…but it did put this person out of business and has spared anybody who wanted to drink safe water in the field the convenience of his product.

Good for you, Feds, I’m glad my taxes pay for you!

“Gun Death” Anger

Those who use the metric of “Gun Death” to ban guns, often say that “Gun Death” is a relevant metric because guns make it too easy for a violent outburst to turn fatal.

A 43-year-old Chesterfield Township man could not explain how or why he stabbed his wife to death two years ago other than saying he could not take full responsibility for it, and it happened after his head “exploded.”

Good thing he didn’t have a gun, somebody might have been hurt…
