Sudafed Blues

So in the name of good vacation planning the wife decided to get sick. Our host had some expired sudafed that was a last resort (Wife does degredation studies on drugs and sticks to the recommend dates, and never keeps drugs in a bathroom that has a shower) so we stopped by a local drugsore. Being Sunday the pharmacy counter was closed until one, and of course you need a licensed pharmacist to make sure you don’t cook it into Meth.

So we did some sight seeing at UNC, then at 1:00 we hit a Walmart on our way to Charlotte.

Pharmacy was closed..FOR LUNCH! A whole Walmart pharmacy closed for lunch!

Thankfully there was another pharmacy down the street that was indeed open, so the wife is doped, and will likely fall asleep in the car.

Thank goodness we have all these laws, because now there is ZERO problems with memory meth on the streets.

Right?

“Gun Death” Bread

Wow when they say “Bread and Circuses” I don’t think they mean this.

Two bakery workers died in agony after bosses sent them into a giant oven to carry out repairs on the cheap, a court heard yesterday.

The machine should have been allowed to cool for 12 hours, but was only left for two.

Could it have been worse if it was a “Gun Death”? I’m at a loss…

“Gun Death” Do No Harm

A certain irony comes when a murder is done by a doctor.

When a representative from Virginia Mason Medical Center knocked on the door of Dr. Louis C. Chen’s First Hill apartment on Thursday morning, Chen answered the door nude and covered in blood, according to court documents.

Seattle police were immediately summoned, and they entered the penthouse and found Chen’s partner, Eric A. Cooper, 29, dead and the couple’s nearly 3-year-old son slain in a bathroom. Chen was slumped over near the front door.

Police asked Chen, “Who stabbed you and your partner?” The doctor responded, “I did,” according to an affidavit of probable cause released Monday morning by King County prosecutors.

Would a gun have been worse? Would a “Gun Death” had been worse?

Yeah.

Nethack G33kery!

So we’re heading out for lunch soon, but I thought I’d share this bit of AWESOME G33kery.

My lovely hosts have a computer hooked up to a widescreen, so while the woman folks were doing woman things, I read my morning bloggery and started playing some Nethack on the monster screen!

We’re thinking of doing a similar thing with one (or maybe both) of our widescreens when we upgrade our computers and have the old units kicking around.

Yeah Nethack on a widescreen! I RULE!!! 🙂

Morning LOL

Probably an oldie but new to me:

I love these crass overdubs to nature footage, they always crack me up!

BTW there was one I saw back in my Livejournal days about a racist bird putting on a mistral show, and other rude stuff. Does anybody remember that one? I’d love to see it again!

“Gun Death” King Loser

This guy is not only a violent jerk, but a total loser.

A 27-year-old Naperville man remained Saturday in DuPage County Jail on $1.5 million bail, after being charged with trying to kill his mother in a violent, bloody attack with a butcher knife.

Alexander R. Georg lives with his 52-year-old mother in a second-floor apartment in the 1100 block of Spring Garden Circle, in The Mansions of Naperville area on the city’s northeast side.

King classy right there for Mr. Slacker. And note the Butcher knife, something we all have at least one of (I know I have at least 5 in my Kitchen). If these were somehow the cause of violent crime, I suspect there wouldn’t be many people left.

Maybe its the people, not the tools. Maybe “Gun Death” is just a sham invented by the antis!

Hog Un-Groped

So again I was able to avoid the backscatter scanners. If I can go my whole life without the TSA grope that would be awesome. It was pretty easy to spot and avoid the machines, which of course also makes obvious that the whole TSA is just for show…and to steal your shit, sexually assault, and give people cancer.

Well its 10am and I’m having a pre-flight beer and burger.

TSA needs to be disbanded YESTERDAY, and those bastards should be ashamed of what they do!

“Gun Death” Mass Murder

Of course mass-slaying can only happen in America where guns are prevalent.

Six people, including three children are dead after a stabbing incident at a property in St Helier, police say.

This story comes from the UK where knives are almost as tightly restricted as guns.

I would point out that if one of these people had had a gun maybe this rampage could have been stopped by an armed defender.

How’s that gun control working for you? If its to reduce deaths, it doesn’t work, if its to stop “Gun Death”, well I guess you can be happy. I see that as a hollow victory.

Packed Up

Gonna be shooting down to North Carolina to visit some friends for the long weekend. Probably some light Blogging ahead.

Still the “Gun Death?” Files are all ready to go (again HUGE thanks to all who submitted stories, you make what has become a massive project a fairly easy thing to keep up with).

We’ll see if the TSA gives me any shit. Frankly I have no interest in dealing with those assholes, but we’ll see.

Also because NC has some of the wonkiest carry laws out there, I’ll be traveling unarmed. LAME.

Still should be a fun trip!
