Anti-Gunners Lying: This is My Shocked Face

So you’ve probably seen it heard of it by now. There’s an anti-gun movie in Theaters now.

I had to edit the above line because neither you, nor anybody else has probably SEEN it, because the overall reviews, even from left-wing media outlets is it’s not a great film.

Stay tuned here for the next Episode of the Gunblog Variety Cast where I tear apart that trailer in my segment.

In my Segment I make note that the “Brady Campaign” is one of the protagonists in the film, I’ll also note that the “Gun Lobby” is never named as “The NRA” or any other real-world pro-gun group. Given this information, and given that the Brady Campaign is doing financial gymnastics to keep from being bankrupted by funds owed to Lucky Gunner, and the rising Star of Michael Bloomberg and his fleet of anti-gun shell groups, the fact that The Brady Campaign name was used, and the fact that in the past they have worked with Hollywood to inject anti-gun messages and themes into TV and Film lead me to believe that Brady at LEAST was giving script notes, if not full-on re-writes of this film.

Only the production crew is saying they didn’t:

We didn’t offer the script to the Brady Campaign, we didn’t offer the script to any Second Amendment groups,” director John Madden said when I asked if he had consulted with the NRA or other gun rights groups when making the film. “We didn’t want the film being adopted by one side or the other of the argument, because it isn’t a polemic. … I don’t think — the film is not political in its intent. It’s political in its milieu and it’s political in its, you know, the background of the story. But it’s more about political process to me.”

Except as Thirdpower and Miguel are reporting, the Brady Campaign didn’t get that talking point:

Further, The actors also weren’t gagged on their prep-work:

Mbatha-Raw: As well as us meeting in D.C. and getting to go to Capitol Hill, I got to visit the lobbying firm that were the consultants for the movie. I also got to meet with leading members of the Brady Campaign [to Prevent Gun Violence] and also a young woman whose mother survived [the] Sandy Hook [shooting], and talk to her about how that had motivated her to become involved in politics and in gun violence prevention.

As Thirdpower and Miguel are saying: “Who’s Lying?”

Well the Director is saying he didn’t involve ANY political groups in the production.

The Brady Campaign is saying they were directly involved, and SOMEBODY gave permission to use their name, and likely saw script pages before approving that. Still given Brady’s involvement in Hollywood in the past I bet they didn’t just sign a waiver on the name.

Further the Cast admits they met with anti-gun groups….but no pro-gun groups for role preparation. That’s the dictionary definition of Bias!

So really I think the writing is on the wall on who the liar is.

Funny, anti-gunners lying, they’re generally so honest!

SQRPT #218

We took a little time off, but we’re back!

We’re quoting Breda for the show description:

We talk about everything from printing presses, Castro, Sesame Street, mashed potatoes to orangutans. All in the same show!
I like us.

Yep, it’s that! …and I told the British to murder their royal family!

Also, I thought the historical whiskey sour used egg white. That’s how I like them!

Another Great Cooking Video

I need to try this!

Not only do the recipes look awesome, but this is really more of a technique than a specific recipe, so there is a LOT of room to experiment!

Gunblog Variety Cast Ep 118

EP118 GunBlog VarietyCast – Will Your Plan Survive Contact With the Enemy?

Fortunately for you, this podcast will survive contact with your ears.

Beth is excited about a new project. What is it? She’s happy you asked.

When five robbers invade your home, it’s going to be a bad day. But who are they, and who would they target? Sean takes a closer look.

Barron is On Assignment and will return next week.

In the Main Topic, Sean and Erin use the example of the Taunton Mall Shooting to consider how your decisions under fire may cost you more than just your own life.

Are you tired of all the political stuff? Tiffany is, so she takes a break from it and gives some new gear a whirl.

Why are zombies able to sneak up on the characters in “The Walking Dead”? Because they aren’t using proper protective equipment. Erin gives us some thoughts of eye, ear, and respiratory protection for preppers.

If you won’t conduct a proper autopsy, how can you tell the actual cause of death? And when you’re talking about a political campaign, refusing to see the truth means never understanding why you lost. Weer’d takes a closer look at one false gun control election post-mortem.

Our plug of the week is for the Grid-It Organizer.

Well Crap!

So they’re going to make Ghost in the Shell into a live-action film.

I’m a HUGE Masamune Shirow fan, and of course I’ve already had my quality film adaptations. The 2004 Appleseed Film was AMAZING! And I really enjoyed the first Season of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex.

Still the idea of it being live action is interesting…then I saw the trailer.

So disappointing, as much of the trailer appears to be of shot-to-shot remakes of scenes from the 1995 film which took great liberties of the source materiel to great determine in my opinion.

Also given the idea that this is a copy of an adaptation, rather than a fresh adaption, it likely means this will be a tired plot-line with a HUGE special effects budget.

Allegedly they are trying to do a live-action AKIRA film, I can only imagine that Opus being even harder to translate to live-action, especially a Hollywood remake…
