Bad Justice: Why I Carry

Jay has a pretty rage-inducing story of a Boston Murder Case. Go read the whole thing, but essentially some jerk crashed a party. When asked to leave he shot and killed the host of the party. Being not only Boston, but a Gang-infested part of Boston he was not licensed to own or carry a gun. What was his sentence? Life.

What does that mean in Massachusetts? Eligible for parole in 15 years! This is why I support the death penalty, because life in prison does not equal life in prison. Jay also notes that if this jerk plays his cards right he’ll be out much sooner.

Now think about that. He murdered another person because they told him he had to leave a party he was crashing, and he might be back on the street inside of 8 years, meanwhile its also possible that the amenities in prison are better than the shithole he lives in at Hyde Park.

We can tell from his crime that he had at the time of the shooting a VERY low value for human life. Hell I’ve crashed a party or two back in my College days, only a few times have I been asked to leave, and I didn’t care, I knew I hadn’t been invited. This guy did that and then KILLED the person who asked him to leave.

That’s a pretty low value on a human life. Still when he’s breathing free air again, how much more do you think he’ll value a life? I don’t know if it’ll be much more.

Certainly his friends on the outside will see he got a slap on the wrist for committing murder. What’s to stop them from killing somebody, or him from killing again?

Not much. Now I don’t ever set foot in Hyde Park because people get killed there, and a white face like mine would be quite the bullet-magnet to the gang bangers down there. Still there isn’t a fence keeping the gangs in, just like there is nothing keeping me out besides my own desire for self-preservation.

This is why I am ALWAYS carrying a gun. Because monsters like this exist, and neither the Police, nor the Penal system will do anything to stop them. You need to protect yourself!

Also does anybody have ANY doubt why Boston has a violent crime problem? They can pass all the gun control they want, it won’t stop criminals from going strapped, and it won’t save a life if the criminals are allowed to walk free.

Still what really put a smile on my face was this quote from Dennis, the proprietor of Dragon Leatherworks.

I am offering the holster with the full understanding that if you find it to be junk, you’ll say so. I’m not offering a product in return for a good review….I’m offering it for an *honest* review.

My First holster from Dennis was a total surprise and was simply a thank-you for pushing some traffic to his site, and there was no request for a review, but I like reviews so I did one anyway. Also I’d like to think that those of you who read this site, and follow me on Vicious Circle know I’m a guy who doesn’t pull punches, and speaks my mind, often at great volume, and I really don’t care what others think about it. Also I’ve panned a few products in my time…this being my favorite.

So yeah any review I ever do here will be full-on honest. If I ever get to a point (not likely) that I can make a living off of writing reviews they will again be honest. I see little point in trying to guess what is fact and what is bent truth in reviews for people who are looking for future testing units from manufactures.

For people like Dennis he isn’t being bold or even taking a risk. He KNOWS his holsters are solid and well built. He has great talent and great QC, so he has no problem giving open license to people who review his products, nor does he have issue offering a solid warranty on his holsters.

Good on you, Dennis, and keep the quality gear flowing into the hands of good people!

From the eyes of the Antis

Thought I’d share a few gems that I found from the antis. First is this lame tweet from “Protest Easy Guns” (BTW their organization title pisses me off when I spend so much time wrangling bullshit gun laws and jumping through legal hoops to buy, keep, and bear my arms)

Fort Hood gunman, a conceal-carry licensee, faces death penalty for gunning down 13 people.

Look Nidal Hassan is a domestic Muslim terrorist, but not only was he not on any of the so-called “Terrorist Watch Lists” (which demands quotes because its full of non-terrorists, and lots of terrorists are not on the list) that the antis are pushing quite hard as a valid reason to deny rights. but he was an army major, and a psychologist. Never heard before that he had a carry permit, certainly his permit was NOT valid on Fort Hood when he started shooting innocent people in the name of his twisted religion. Not to mention that its kinda a crime to shoot innocent people. Gun control gets good people killed, FULL STOP.

And on the flip side there was this story pushed by the antis:

And he did, with three shotgun blasts to the back as they crossed his yard with a bag of stolen goods. He was never charged with any crime related to the killings.

The law that Horn was talking about is the “castle doctrine” statute, many versions of which are sweeping the nation.

Guy blasts a few robbers with a shotgun and kills them. Can anybody see a problem with this? Nobody is disputing that the departed were robbing homes at the time of their deaths, and nobody is disputing that the man who killed them did so to protect the neighborhood from these degenerate assholes.

Of course this anti-freedom goon decided to try to paint this as a horrific event and that Castle Doctrines and Stand your Ground laws are somehow bad things.

Wanna know what a bad thing is? The inner cities where the gangs rule the roost and have no fear of law enforcement. If they don’t fear the cops, let them fear the victims of their crimes. There is NO way that could be a bad thing.

But then again anti-gun people aren’t the most rational people around the table.

Now we can jest about Obama being a moron (or we can mention that its the steely-eyed truth) but the more serious point is our elected officials are making speeches and pushing laws about things they know NOTHING about. If my wife’s brain surgeon used the term “Thingy” or “Frontalcampus” or some other such fucked up statement, do you think I’d let him pop my wife’s skull? Yet we have no problem electing drooling morons to handle the levers of government while we’re working at your jobs.

How Gun Control Works: International

Heard this story on the news this morning and I knew it needed to get on the blog:

A man wielding a machete and a hammer is holding 30 pre-school children and teachers hostage at a kindergarten in Malaysia, police said.

Yep, but here’s the money quote right here:

It is believed he told negotiators to give him a gun or he would kill the children.

Yep, Gun control, works GOOD! So the antis will mention that maybe if he had access to a gun he might have killed somebody before the police tear gassed this guy (and the kids and teachers I might add). Well I wonder what he might want to do with the gun. I suspect if he had a heater he might have shot at the voices inside his head first.

All I gotta say is if you’re in a school filled with children and teachers and you have a hammer and a machete, you think you’d do LESS damage than you would if you had a gun and murder on your mind?

Still this isn’t “Gun Violence” so the antis will look the other way, unless they want to focus on the request for a gun.

“Gun Death” Scalding

You know what the most common weapon on the planet is? Water!

A northwest Houston man was clinging to life at the hospital Thursday, almost a week after authorities said his teenage girlfriend scalded him with boiling water.

Simple as that, the most common chemical on earth and she used it to quite possibly murder her boyfriend.

You wanna ban water?

Just to expand on the points of the Harry Brown review Kevin gave me a link to this interview. A Money quote is this:

Michael Caine: It was scary because I didn’t realize quite how dangerous it all was. There, now, instead of alcohol and a fist fight and getting a broken nose, now you’ll get shot or knifed. You have people that have no idea what they are doing because they are so drugged up to their eyeballs, and you could say they’d never do that, but of course they do because you don’t know they’re high. It was extremely dangerous. One of the minor, silly things is that we would do daylight shots with dialogue, and it became a nuisance because every time we shot a shot there was a police siren. All day long, in the daylight on a sunny Wednesday afternoon, we kept having to reshoot.

Odd, I thought MASSIVE gun control and granting the moon and the stars to police as powers over individual rights made people safer.

Its almost like the progress “Progressives” talk about is the world of Harry Brown.

Thanks, I’ll live my life in a movie that’s too fucking boring for anybody put to film! Massachusetts is bad, but at least it isn’t London bad!

Video On Acceptable Bigotry

Great little video from Dan Savage. Overall I LOVE his podcast, hate his politics, but as you can imagine we do see eye to eye on the sex and drugs issues.

Also I do appreciate his honesty, so many people (on both political sides) are willing to look the other way on a politicians horrible acts if its THEIR politician.

Still he talks about people on the wrong side of history such as the not-so-far-away time when it was OK to discriminate against black people simply because of their skin color. In some effect gun owners and gays are kinda the same way. Angry bigots want us to stop what we have no desire to stop. They want gays to quit being gays, and those who take control of their own personal defense to go back to being sheep. (And I would add that the two are not mutually exclusive…tho we do need more representation in the gay community. Seriously, armed gays don’t get bashed, and if some violent homophobes get shot in the process where’s the loss?)

It takes a LOT of hard work to end such wrong-minded behavior, and its something every cause must strive for.

On Casey Anthony, I don’t care. Its a show trial on a bunch of fucked up people who likely killed a little girl.

Haven’t followed the details, don’t want to, can’t make me. Maybe she’s innocent, maybe she’s guilty. Most likely they picked some of the dumbest people around to serve on the jury. Shit like this happens all the time in every state. Sorry this is nothing new.
