Chance Meeting

So I finally managed to wrestle my photos from my still-broken still camera (gonna need to look into a new one) and I thought I’d lead with this photo.

Yep that’s Gunny R. Lee Ermey doing his thing for the good people at Glock. Let me tell you he was a popular guy, as the line was quite long. Still I had a clear opening just on the other side of the rope line to snap a few pictures. I also did a little eavesdropping on what he was saying to the autograph hunters. I must say he stuck me as a very humble and nice man. He was certainly stopping to have a nice word with everybody who took the time to shake his hand. Put a smile on my face for sure.

A few hours later the water I was drinking had finished its run, and I stepped into the head to give it leave. With 70,000 people the convention center was PACKED, this also went for the Men’s room. thankfully there was a single urinal free, and I bellied up to it, eyes forward.

Then I heard a distinctive voice. Just using my peripheral I peeked out of the corner of my eye, and who was in the Urinal to my starboard side? Yep, Gunny Ermie!

No I didn’t look any further you pervert! Still funny little meeting. I would have liked to have shaken his hand, but my hand, but that would have been more than a little rude!

“Gun Death” Custody Battle

Divorces are nasty. I’ve seen a ton of them, and in most both parties would do anything to cause pain to the other party…including using the children.

A Texas man allegedly killed his two young sons and then sent gruesome photos of the dead children to their mother, including a picture of a toddler hanged….The couple were due to have a custody hearing next Monday. On Wednesday, the angry text messages took a graphic and tragic turn.

One photo reportedly sent to the woman’s phone shows the boys lying on a bed with Armandariz and accompanied with the photo is the message, ‘We love u goodbye,’ the Associated Press reported. An even more shocking photo followed.

From another story it appears he hung them. Brutal and horrible death of two children all over a divorce. Hardly worth it! But no guns used so this isn’t a “Gun Death”….does that seem relevant to you?

Heroes and Crazy

Bob sent me this video a while back, but I haven’t really be dealing with my email as of late. WARNING contains graphic language and nudity.

After hurling himself into a set of doors, the man took off his boxer shorts, which elicited squeals from shocked observers. As a police officer was talking on his radio, the man bolted from the subway car and accosted a woman walking up a stairway. After slamming a package of hers to the ground, he lunged at a man walking perilously close to a platform edge.

With the help of some male onlookers, the cop succeeded in wrestling the man to the ground, where he was subdued. A police spokesman told TSG that the man, 41, was treated as an emotionally disturbed person and transported in custody to Lincoln Hospital for psychological evaluation.

Watch the video (if you don’t mind seeing crazy and naked), frankly as soon as he goes after the lady that’s when people should have tackled this asshole. I find it hard to justify lethal force in my mind as he’s NAKED and not all that large. But I’m not a small guy, a woman, or a smaller or older person might have more legal justification. That being said somebody should have brought him down before the police did.

Also I wouldn’t have stayed on that subway car. When you watched the video were you surprised when he turned violent? Violence was the ONLY way this was going to end. Thanks I’ll take another train.

Of course Bob sent it to me because he thought I’d be amused by a crazy naked guy. He was right!

Weekend Random

So Dixie over at The Conspiracy linked this gem. The Four Cheese McCasserole , looks gross, looks cheap, and frankly Looks REALLY good. I would say it would look like the best thing ever at about 2am after a night of drinking!

Now nothing is going to get you better results than Buckshot or slugs in your scatter-gun, but let me tell you, nothing will look quite as neat as that Dragon’s Breath!

Oh and the Wife just came home from the hardware store, and she picked up a Chicom-made framing hammer for $10. I declared that “Ten Dollar Hammer” is a good band name! 🙂

“Gun Death” Machete

Wow, I can’t even wrap my mind around this one…

A woman attacked with a machete in her western Minnesota home last month died on Mother’s Day, and her son has been charged in an attack that he described as a mercy killing, authorities said.

Barbara K. Howard, 68, of Dalton, died Sunday morning at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

I don’t even want to attempt to sort this out. Its sick, its brutal, and it isn’t a “Gun Death”.

Good Afternoon!

So we did a great Vicious Circle show last night. If you missed it live you can listen to it here.

Decided to sleep in this morning, and totally slack off once I got out of bed. Mostly sat in my PJs playing Endless Ocean Blue World until lunch.

I think I’ll add that it is pretty much official that now on less than half her standard epilepsy dose the Mrs. is experiencing some side effects.
-More Energy
-Needs Less Sleep
-Generally feels good about things.

Oh and No seizures. Epilepsy medications aren’t anything magical, they can’t stop the cause of seizures, instead they just sedate the brain, which seems to do the trick. This is also why many anti-convulsants also work quite well at treating psychosis. It just quiet downs the whole brain. The side effects of this are generally feeling more tired and needing more sleep. Since the Mrs. has been on these meds for almost 15 years, experiencing the world off them is really putting a smile on her face.

Let’s hope that the rest of the meds can be tapered off without seizures, and more wonderful side-effects!

OK Now I’m off the mow the lawn before the weather turns nasty again. Supposed to be nice seasonal weather this weekend, but I don’t trust it!

“Gun Death” Home Invasion

This is a brutal one, but it also carries a lesson:

A 21-year-old Prior Lake man was sentenced on Tuesday to nearly 30 years in prison for joining another assailant to stab and burn a Burnsville man nearly to death during a home invasion three years ago…Victim Paul Traub was stabbed 20 times, doused with a flammable liquid and left to burn to death. The assailants also set eight fires in his home….The intruders broke two phones, flipped off a circuit breaker and removed a battery from a smoke detector minutes before Traub awakened about 4 a.m. As he tried to escort Whitfield outside, Traub said Tuesday, Cook jumped out and stabbed him three times in the head — including once in the face — with a paring knife from a kitchen drawer.

Thankfully the victim is still alive. Still here’s another lesson of the “Gun Death?” files, the first is that the metric “Gun Death” is 100% bullshit, as violence is a human condition and in the absence of guns humans will still cause harm to each other.

Anther is awareness of the horrors of a world without guns. This man had his home broken into early in the morning by multiple men with full intention to kill him. Don’t you think he would have been better off if he had had a gun himself?

Be careful, carry your gun, and don’t allow the metric “Gun Death” to be used!
