Robb will soon be back to work! I think we’ve all been jobless, and know how much it sucks. I’m glad.
Any bets on how long before Obama tries and takes credit for Robb getting a job?

Uncle was nice enugh to cite me as a Quote of the Day. It was a bit of a throw-away comment I made, but I thought I’d expand on it.
The quote was on how I had a radar detector from my days when I had a heavy foot (I still have a heavy foot, but I also have cruise control to take the foot out of that game). The particular model I had, had an additional feature. I guess in some states radar detectors are illegal, and there are devices that police use to detect radar detectors. Well my device had a feature where it detected those detectors and would go dark to “hide” from them. Interesting.
The world is filled with people doing various things to still do an otherwise prohibited activity. In the gun world we have things like cartridges built exactly to .50 Caliber, Barrels shortened to just over 16 or 18″, things like the hand-crank AK-47 make for mock-full-auto-fun, but still legal. Go see The Numbers Game for more.
I know some home brewers. Some of these people do all sorts of neat tricks to keep their yeast cranking out alcohol so they can have strong drink made at home without having to break the law by distilling spirits. Of course during prohibition, people would drink stuff like cooking vanilla.
When I worked for the government on the commercial fishing fleet the government would often close certain areas of the ocean…the fishermen would simply fish the “Fence Line”.
Of course the war on drugs has created all sorts of technology wars, be it sticking dope bags up your ass, or building a submarine. BTW check this money quote out!
When semi-submersibles are stopped at sea their crews usually scuttle them, sending boat and cocaine to the bottom in a minute or so and leaving no evidence of trafficking. Until 2008, in accordance with maritime law, the crew was rescued and, if there was no physical evidence of wrongdoing, released without criminal charges. To address this legal loophole, the US Drug Trafficking Vessel Interdiction Act was enacted in September 2008, making it a “felony for those who knowingly or intentionally operate or embark in a self-propelled semi-submersible (SPSS) that is without nationality and that is or has navigated in international waters, with the intent to evade detection.”[28] The penalty is a prison term of up to 20 years in the U.S.[41]
Good luck enforcing that law, Squids!
The take-away from this is that if you make a law you’re going to have to spend time and money enforcing it. If people want to skirt the law you’re going to have to broaden the law, and spend MORE money watching things closely. At some point this always becomes REALLY stupid, and starts sounding mostly like the local snoop at the condo association wanting to make sure nobody paints their unit a color they don’t like, and everybody eats their vegetables.
How about we let grown-ups be grown ups, and if they want to do something stupid or dangerous, give them our blessing?
Ok so linking Scarface ended up getting me looking at Robert Loggia’s page….and well if you haven’t seen this, you should!
I really think we need Mr. Loggia as a celebrity guest on Vicious Circle….I’d want to know what its like working with David Lynch
Ok So for whatever reason I felt the need this morning to read a condensed biography of Stacy Keach (Don’t ask why because I have no fucking clue….I think somebody said “The Weather today is a Peach” and my mind went from there) Well it turned out in his youth, Stacy was in a play called MacBird!
MacBird! was a 1967 satire by Barbara Garson that superimposed the struggle for power following the Kennedy assassination onto the plot of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Thus John F. Kennedy becomes “Ken O’Dunc”, Lyndon Johnson becomes “MacBird”, Lady Bird Johnson becomes “Lady MacBird”, and so forth. As Macbeth assassinates Duncan, so MacBird is responsible for the assassination of Ken O’Dunc; and as Macbeth is defeated by Macduff, so MacBird is defeated by Robert O’Dunc (i.e. Robert Kennedy). This action is significantly influenced by the Three Witches, representing Students, Blacks, and Leftists.
Given that it was spawned out of the Berkley anti-war movement, and the fact that I had never heard about it until this morning, its likely a total turd, still I’d really like to see it now!
Then again we all know how badly MacBeth Remakes can go….
Wow this is a bit of a sick one, and not a run-of-the-mill “Gun Death?” story
Twin Houston men were charged Tuesday with the murder of their 89-year-old mother after police say the pair allowed her to die on the floor in their foyer after she fell, then lived for three months with her decomposing, bug-infested corpse….The twins later told police they lived with their mother and cared for her. On Jan. 10, Edwin Berndt said he and his brother were watching the BCS Championship football game when their mother “came in ranting and raving and she then fell down and did not get up.” He said they decided to leave her on the floor because they didn’t have money to provide her with medical treatment.
For the first day, Sybil Berndt was conscious and able to speak, but did not ask for any help, Edwin Berndt said. His brother said they didn’t give her any food or water while she lay on the floor.
Three days later, on Jan. 13, the elderly woman died, Edwin Berndt told police. He told them he remembered the date because it was a day after her 89th birthday.
The brothers then decided to leave her on the floor because they didn’t have money to bury her.
OK that’s crazy sick! She fell and was hurt, but still able to communicate, and they just left her there until she died…then continued to walk around her as she rotted.
Now I have heard of such cases where relatives don’t report a death so the Social Security check will keep coming. No mention of that, nor did they even attempt to conceal the body. There must be some serious mental illness involved.

So the other day in the lab I burned my hand on my autoclave. It was terribly painful, and the burn was disfiguring. I’m a little embarrassed to share it, but here it is.

I know, I’m hideous. Nobody can love me looking like this. Also even tho this was a week ago the pain is still VERY intense. So I called up my doctor.

I feel much better already! Medicinal gin is the cure all from burns, to deep depression over being disfigured. If I have a few more maybe even the scar will vanish!
And yes, I’m a Doctor! How else could I get that knife?
(BTW I’m so amused I found my college dissection kit! haven’t used it in ages, used big crude knives in the Observer Program, and I use disposable scalpels in the lab)
Breda did a very good job, but he’s such an asshole I felt the need to kick him while he’s down. Here’s one of his most egregious comments.
— Spending several hundred dollars on a serviceable handgun might leave them without enough money to get the full treatment at that next visit to the day spa.
— Carrying a gun in a small purse would leave less room for more important items, such as lipstick or compact.
— The baggy clothing required to successfully conceal most holsters would make them appear frumpy.
— Gunpowder residue might stain the new Karen Scott blouse they just bought at Macy’s.
— The gunpowder smell when the weapon is fired could totally overwhelm the Chanel they’re wearing.
— Most firearm accessories come only in one boring color: black.
— Target practice earplugs simply aren’t sexy.
He missed “Get your ass back in the kitchen” and “RESPECT THE COCK!”
So I’ll just toss out that Breda is a very pretty lady (and I’m embarrassing her by saying so), There’s also Tam Roberta, Lissa, Jennifer, Julie, Labrat, Nancy, Christina as well as countless other attractive, feminine, and very un-frumpy lady-bloggers who totally dig and/or carry guns. I will also add that my wife is quite lovely, and very un-frumpy, and packs a piece. There are also lots of ladies I know who pack heat, are vary lady-like, who don’t blog or fiddle on the internet.
Women can also be doctors, lawyers, politicians, and auto mechanics. I know you guys know that, but Eric might not have gotten the memo.
I shall close on some videos of some very lovely ladies talking about concealed carry and armed self-defense. These are not their only videos, so click away to visit their youtube channels!
Lima Life doesn’t allow this one to be embedded anymore. This one is still good-to-go
And this is an amazing video on how to carry in high-fashion summer clothes!
Eric you should know better, and until you do, go fuck yourself!
Because its 420, and because Whipped Cream Difficulties has a great post on it.
I think you should totally be able to get drunk, high, stoned, twisted, freaked, and tripping balls at your own home and on your own time, and so long as you don’t bother anybody else, I think that’s totally fine.
What I don’t like is people demanding the repeal of stupid Marijuana laws for “Medical Marijuana” reasons.
I work in the drug industry, I also have been prescribed and taken prescription drugs. On all these medications must have lists of active and inactive ingredients, as well as the concentrations of all, also expiration dates for the ingredients that are relative to degradation studies.
OK now let’s go to the plant side of thing. Go buy a bag of fruit…oranges are in season here right now. Now look at all those fruits, some will be sweeter, some will be riper, some will be juicy others dry, I check each bag because some have rotten or moldy fruit in them. I used to have an apple tree, you’d see the same variations on different fruits from the SAME TREE. And that’s at one time of the year. Ever buy a tomato in the middle of December? They SUCK!
My point? Plants are living things, even with genetic clones like many cultivated plants (such as apples or Marijuana) there will be variations from different parts of the plants, more variation from different plants…even more from different seasons of different farms.
You will never get pharmaceutical-grade regularity from a naturally growing plant. The only way you’ll get pharmasudical grade is to extract the chemical you’re looking for, or synthesize it and made a medicine. Guess what? We already have that!
Sorry, people calling for Medical marijuana are looking to grow pot and sell it for illegal recreational use.
Now I’m not saying marijuana doesn’t have therapeutic effects, it does, but it can’t be prescribed as medicine because it isn’t. The simple solution is make it legal to smoke weed for whatever you want to use it for, and if you want to use it for medicine, do that just like doctors recommend alcohol for medicinal effects. This happens all the time, no prescription, just a medical advisory.
If you want to push something do it honestly, otherwise you’re just as bad as the people who push prohibition by lying.
Just thought I’d put up a pot-friendly post for April 20th.
First here in Mass where recreational Marijuana is mostly legal (not the sham that is “Medical Marijuana”) Cops can’t use the smell of pot as probable cause.
The smell of marijuana smoke is no longer enough reason for police to order someone out of a car, now that pot has been decriminalized in Massachusetts, the state’s highest court said in a decision published on Tuesday.
Fair enugh.
Also there’s a nice Reason article up too.
Smoke them if you got ’em! Me I think I’ll just have a glass of gin when I get home.
